It just takes too long to make money with character development. If they can shame people over developing an audience they (thought) they would make more money faster, and score points with the Left who was giving them money during Covid. They became in affect propaganda for Left leaning causes - because it was easier. They don't realize fans have a choice and will leave beloved IPs when not treated right. when you have a great actor and the realisation has the freedom and the gut to "play" with it and let him do his thing, it can creates miracles.
For that you need a great cast, that works together and finds that alchemy, you need a production that let´s them impersonate the characters and play with it, you also need a story that allows it.
We are lucky all was there for these MCU series of film.

They could have re-shot the "I am Iron Man" scene and kept 2 alternate versions of the ending for us to discover in the dvd/BR release.
This kind of improv has huge concequences for the plot and the production itself. RD Jr took a million gamble on the spot.
The credits goes to the writters because they are the ones supposed to build the story around this drastic change.

Pietro Maximoff's demise. Another example ofc is in Avengers: Endgame, where Hulk
is asked to take the stairs and when he..well..ya'll know the scene..it sets things way back, aha.
