Yes, he IS a really good actor. I believed him. The anchors could look as pissy as shit bc they were working off of rumors and Andrew knew what he was talking about. And he definitely sounded delighted by having played Spider-Man, watching Tom play Spider-Man (altho I guess if I thought about it, I would probably think he lied about that part and was mad as hell that he lost the chance to be in the big Marvel Universe as opposed to his Amazing Movies (and I mean that in both ways))!! And to be fair, Tom’s young, fairly new to the business, was thrown into the deep water really quickly and had very little time to adjust to his new level of stardom.
