I would also recommend their song Constance. The song was written as a way for Courtney ( the singer) to process her grief after losing her grandmother and not being able to attend the funeral because of covid restrictions. The video tells the story of the video's director whose grandmother has dementia. Constance is her name and is where the title is from. Keep up the great work!
I already get all weepy watching her reactions. Constance already makes me almost inconsolable. I wanna see what happens when the two are added together. A hurricane of emotion, no doubt.
When Courtney gets to the part where she's screaming 'offer me.. i have the heart of a coward,' I always get teary-eyed by the wave of emotions that hit me.
Yes, the video was inspired by Handmaid's Tale, and if I remember correctly, I believe Courtney mentioned that the lyrics are about her own struggles with anxiety. I really like this song. (Also, not sure if you noticed the chain around her ankle in several scenes.)
As a massive Spiritbox fan, i can easily say this is the best analysis / interpretation of this song and video i've seen, and I've seen nearly all of them. I even learned things I didn't know, about chemicals and even this song I've heard 200 times. Amazing work.
It’s totally inspired by Handmaid’s Tale. Most of their videos are inspired by horror-esque things. While this one can be interpreted as a toxic relationship with another person, Courtney herself described this one as a toxic relationship with her own self.
“Bleach Bath” is probably my favorite Spiritbox song. They are all good, but that one in particular is quite the ride. Hope to see you do more Spiritbox, as I’ve read in an interview that their songs do have mental health aspects to them.

Hey Amanda. Fun fact for ya: the lead singer Courtney Laplante got her inspiration from her favorite tv series and my favorite as well THE HANDMAIDS TALE.
Oh I also meant to tell you, do you know about the whole seratonin like a loaded gun line? It was a drug they would often use that in Handmaid's Tale to impregnate the women or just to get them (for the men to get their sex use) and the women would often struggle if they didn't want it. Also the different visions of the man Courtney showing different ways she often thinks about how to kill him which in the show they would show visions some of the women would have in the show on different ways they would often think on how to kill them (the men). It's an amazing show and happy you know about it because the visuals in this video still keep getting a lot of reactors confused because they know nothing about Handmaid's Tale so its amazing and beautiful to see you can visual that and understand it in some way. One more thing at the end of you saw a red looking visual through the glass door How it was the husband character to Courtney's character and in the series you see a lot of yeah even though the men that do get killed well the women still have that fear of the man or men because their so brainwashed that they still believe that the men can still control even after death.
Don't know if you've ever watched any of "The Handmaid's Tale" but thats where Courtney and her husband got a lot of the inspiration for this music video.
I loved your take on this. This is one of my favorite bands. On the upside she's married to the guitar player, his name is Mike, and they're happy. I was waiting for the end of the video I knew it was gonna get ya lol. Majority of their songs are like that. Her voice is so beautiful then she just hits you with it, then is able to bring it right back. I don't know anything about you except the channel name and this video, but I have issues with that myself. Talking myself down because I'm not afraid at all, which is a dangerous thing. I'll be sure to watch more of your videos. 🤘🤎

I think you would like Soma By Smashing Pumpkins (the guitars are great in itself and sounds dreamy/calming) or ATWA by System of Down in which you interpret it in anyway it fits you (The band said in an interview it depends on the listener).
What you spoke about after the first verse is me down to the letter, and I believe that's why I've had so many failed relationships, I have a tendency to grasp to hard...so I'm wondering if I'm the toxic one with my wife of 15 years asking me to leave....but on another note you should check out the SiriusXM live version of this song, great reaction!
It doesn't necessarily mean you're toxic, but co-dependency (grasping too hard) often does more harm than good. I used to be that way as well. I hope you guys can work things out!
@@MentalAmanda we've been separated for over a year now and found out during the time we were together (for about 2 years previous to me leaving) she had been cheating, she won't admit to it but I have proof, could I have driven her to that where I've been faithful? I have no one to talk to about this, no family or friends, so I've been going through this alone.....
@@jamesm5883 You can talk to me anytime. Her drive to be unfaithful could have been a sex addiction, being unfulfilled in some way, a mental disorder driving an insatiable need for approval.....there are SO many possibilities. Sure, be honest with yourself about whether you could have done things better, but don't obsess over it. Use it as a lesson. Maybe there was nothing you could have done and it would have happened either way.
He is also standing in the doorway in the last shot. As others have said also her chain and in the final scene the open bird cage. Spiritbox do a number of “horror genre” based videos (Holy Roller - Midsomer). As others have said there is a lot of honest talk about anxiety, depression and mental illness/wellbeing in metal, Jinjer often do this but also if you look at the lyrics of Tool they are often about understanding yourself and pushing to be the best version of you (46&2 and Lateralus especially). For me the essence about Metal is understanding yourself, accepting who you are and living the best life you can (often by understanding the darker parts of your being), this may be the opposite of the popular view of metalhead (death, drugs etc.) but if you take time to read the lyrics this is often the message that comes through.
What if the male partner just can't do anything with himself. Some people are hot, some cold. I am from the warm kinesthetic person's that are living on the low serotonin level and I just physically can't widen my emotions and live like people don't sit still. I was in relationships like that but as a result my mental health was damaged slightly instead of hers.
And term "toxic" in that context must not sound as "guilty male manipulator", for me it was dangerous, I was manipulated and really afraid to have a knife in my body
I used to date a girl that took 7 medications daily. It was part of my role to see that she did. She and I tried a few times for her to quit cold turkey but that would end up with her back in the hospital getting medication till she was stabilized. She started to smoke pot, and that did help, but honestly I've never seen anyone consume so much high potency medical grade marijuana as she can. Anyways, that does help her. We're not together anymore, but she's still my friend. That's a whole other story.

"The Beauty Of Suffering"
You say the pain will liberate me
You turn my body into knots, and tell me it's a blessing
You say you love me in this shape
That there is beauty in my suffering
I wonder would I stay if you asked for it
You still create the shape, and I ask for it
I gave my heart in pieces
Please release me, I'm tired
Don't try to pacify me
Please release me, I'm tired
I'm slipping away
No discipline, just let me be
And now my body starts to worry
Put down the words, I will not hesitate
This is your chance, make me relatable
Knock me down with your false intentions
It turns to ash in my mouth
I need you gone, I beg you to release me
Now, I turn my body into something
Into the shape you find so trusting
I could never be that shape
You caught me slipping
Farther down in madness
Echo chamber (Nod your)
Leave my body in peace
No need to pacify me
Nod your head yes
The pain will set you free
I gave my heart in pieces
Please release me, I'm tired
Don't try to pacify me
Please release me, I'm tired
(Please release me, I'm tired)
Leave my body in peace
No need to pacify me
Leave my body in peace

Weave the synthetic when wrapping up my wrists
I don't truly dream when you're near
Loosen aesthetics remain asphyxiated on the paint peeling back from the door
Now I can see you for what you are
She drew the shape on the floor
Now I can see the full spectrum
How can I feel existential dread?
It's my fear
I am eternal
Hurt me with your mouth, make me settle down
Whispering the words on the wind as they blow
Heartbeat in the nest, pressure on my chest
Where did all the signs of the dissonant go?
And when they tell me they pray for me and they lack a certain empathy
The enemy hits me so low
So the circles on the ground make me settle down
Hurt me, give me something from nothing
This is the lie that you come from
Meet me down in the mud
She is the mother and she loves it when we all hurt each other
Proud that her children are weak
I am a language that you have hidden in a syllable
And now you're refusing to speak
I don't even cry anymore
I don't even cry anymore
My skin crawls, my chest heaves
Punish me

Prays the triple moon goddesses.. btw I hit that like.. anything to help a beautiful women. ❤️
Look up Alice in chains love hate love at the Moore live. Best performance ever. Alot of feeling in the song.
I think the killing is definitely symbolic. That is why there are so many different ways that he is murdered (poisoned, stabbed, etc.).
Some people and their emotional balance is just incompatible.
I'd like to recommend The Unforgiven by Metallica it's one my my favorite songs of all time.
Shes dreaming all the ways she could kill him.
Please react DEADSQUADS - PATRIOT MORAL PREMATUR band from indonesia :)
“Suicide survivor” sounds cirngy to be using that as your title. But that sounds like a good metal band name
It's so a potential viewer knows what perspective I am reviewing from. Like 'vocal coach.' The channel is about raising mental health awareness.
