I hate to see comments when they say, "They are cooking it wrong". If you are a cook, you should know there is no way to cook something wrong. You may cook something "Differently" but wrong is a ridiculous word to use about cooking. You girls are adorable, and I can't get enough of you saying, EGG, or IGG.
+ozmommi oh i cant agree more. most of the times those asshats aren't even chefs. they are just brats with mommy issues who thinks their mom's cooking is the international standard
+ozmommi the way its normally done in a chinese restaurant calls for chicken stock to be added bit by bit instead of the water, either way as long as it tastes good!
Hahaha I love this series of comments. "I love the accents, What part of Uk are they from?" - "Australia by the sounds of it" Hahahaha New Zealand Represent! Proud ASF to be a Kiwi. :D
+Soni S Although it is not save to assume, it is at least far more likely that the vast majority of them are meant with an affectionate attitude towards their accent, not a malicious one. I had a smirk on my face by the third time she said "eeegs", which got even broader when I scrolled down to the comments to see so many people jesting about that.
it is so nice to hear our great kiwi accent on YT…makes me feel homesick! Great easy to follow recipes, I'm going to try tomorrow. Thanks for sharing :)
these girls are the only people i've seen on youtube who's actually cooked traditionally. i've even seen some real chinese people cooking it wrong and using way too much sauce.
For a quick and easy fried rice in my dorm kitchen, I usually use mixed vegetable from supermarkets and cooked them by boiling them. Crack some eggs with a pinch of salt. stir well. Have your rice ready by mixing some oil to the extent that every grain is coated with oil without leaving much residual oil in the container. add oil to the wok, and heat it. get eggs into the hot oil and followed by rice. Stir fried till the rice is not really sticky while adding some salt for taste. Get the drained mixed vegetable in. Stir fried some more to remove the excessive water that is not drained. and you have a simple minimalist fried rice done. You can always tweaks it to your taste by adding spices or stuff.
You should always cook fried rice in very high heat. Also, you don't need to add water. You should reduce moisture from your rice. A trick is after scrambling the eggs in the wok, quickly add the rice and mix it with the scrambled eggs.
It's cool to see how other people make fried rice. I usually just dump everything in and hope for the best instead of separating the three categories. Might try the egg and curry version sometime. Thanks!
I just made some fried rice (losely) following your recipe - it was delicious and tasted almost exactly like the fried rice I had in Taiwan. Thank you for this video.
I found you via Jamie Oliver's channel and I'm so glad I did! All your videos look so yummy I'm going to start trying them today. The 2 of you are so enjoyable to watch...Cutie Patooties! Thank you for making these videos!
I hv been tying to find decent recipes on fried rice and somehow i failed all the ones i found and tried.... But this one is not only easy to make but tastes great!! Thnx girls!!
You can also mix the beaten egg and the overnight rice together in a bowl or a plastic bag before cooking so that every rice grain can be coated with the egg and the fried rice would become golden! Also this prevents the rice sticking onto the pan while stir-frying!
This looks delicious! Thank you girls for this awesome recipe! I gotta try this one, specially the curry one. Im a big fan of kare rice and this chinese one looks fantastic. I also like to add dried bonito flakes and sometimes dashi and seaweed when I cook it with shrimp. Bacon also helps to give a really nice flavor.
I¨m from Peru. Here our version don¨t use carrots and baby peas. Instead that peppers and a lot of spring onion. Iwill try this version. Thanks for the video.
ugh IT LOOKS DELICIOUS my fried rice is just using non-stick pan to "fry" overnight rice but not using any oil or butter. also bombarded with pepper and topped with poached egg and drizzled with tabasco sauce. that's it. I only do it because it's healthier but I do love a well-made fried rice. definitely will try a more indulging fried rice once I feel better about my health.
Hiya! Yes, you can use a normal frying pan no worries. But just depending on the size, you might want to do it in two batches because you won't have the high sides of the wok :) Let us know how you get on!
This is so useful! I make fried rice all the time but I don't do it the classic style, since you can use it with just about ANY left overs you have. And here's a tip: Instead of sugar I find that pork floss or barbequed pork adds that perfect sweetness and layer to the rice and gives that added crunch too (depending on what pork floss you use, both are delish). Though Im excited to try soya sauce egg, haven't seen that before! I find it a little hard to hear you gals because of the accent. . Do you mind adding subtitles in future? Cheers!

mifumifu tak and you're telling me something unrelated to my comment because?
+ozmommi the way its normally done in a chinese restaurant calls for chicken stock to be added bit by bit instead of the water, either way as long as it tastes good!
But there is untraditional
Hahaha I love this series of comments. "I love the accents, What part of Uk are they from?" - "Australia by the sounds of it" Hahahaha New Zealand Represent! Proud ASF to be a Kiwi. :D

Best recipe for Special Fired Rice I've come across!
For a quick and easy fried rice in my dorm kitchen, I usually use mixed vegetable from supermarkets and cooked them by boiling them. Crack some eggs with a pinch of salt. stir well. Awesome stuff. We made it loads as students too :)
The Dumpling Sisters i am in iowa. not many ingredients are available. but it is still an easy thing to make :p
You should always cook fried rice in very high heat.
Also, you don't need to add water. You should reduce moisture from your rice. A trick is after scrambling the eggs in the wok, quickly add the rice and mix it with the scrambled eggs.

Nice...had not thought about the overnight rice part.
Char Siu sure looks like tasso.
Have just googled 'tasso' and it looks mighty flavoursome!
it is my favourite fried rice!!!!!!!! well done!!!!!!!!!
Home made special fried rice, Very Nice !!!
When I cook my fried rice, I add in my eggs together with my rice so all my rice grains can be coated with the egg and turn golden yellow. :)
Yes we often do that too! :)
You can also mix the beaten egg and the overnight rice together in a bowl or a plastic bag before cooking so that every rice grain can be coated with the egg and the fried rice would become golden! Also this prevents the rice sticking onto the pan while stir-frying!
Wow, great video! I want to try it out right now!
I used this recipe and I switched white rice for brown rice it's phenomenal
I have had raving reviews about my addition of a touch of rice wine vinegar to the veggies in the par cooking of my fried rice! Well done!
Great idea! Love a bit of rice wine vinegar!
I like how u've done the eggs the proper way.
looks divine! mouth is watering, great job!
Everyone who is talking about the 'egg' pronunciation, this is just the NZ accent and I personally find it amazing. Plz .-.
+KingHarlaus1 It's how every single one of us say egg.. if you say it some other way you're saying it wrong..
Ryan Clemens Are you reading my comment correctly? I'm not criticising how the Kiwis say 'egg'.
KingHarlaus1 wasn't a direct reply to you in particular.. ^_^
Ryan Clemens Ah xD
This looks delicious! Thank you girls for this awesome recipe! I gotta try this one, specially the curry one. Im a big fan of kare rice and this chinese one looks fantastic. I also like to add dried bonito flakes and sometimes dashi and seaweed when I cook it with shrimp. Bacon also helps to give a really nice flavor.
Those sound like great variations! And we agree about the bacon... hmm on second thought, bacon in *anything* is awesome!
