Another tip since the oil filter is easy to get to. Fill the new filter with oil before installing it. Doing that shortens the time the engine is running before oil completely circulates through it.
I'm happy that I found a video on the 2.4 I got my wife a like new 2018 journey this may with 17,000 miles and she took it to get the oil changes done but how much driving she does she's up to 35,000 and I believe this will be the 7th oil change since I got it for her and with the prices on everything being up we have to save money somewhere
Hey man. Thank you. Reassured me that I will be doing it correctly. Good video. Audio was a little low. There's audio mics for cell phones. Amazon and Wish. Just a suggestion.
Thanks, I have same Vehicle: though Dealer insisted on Service Program ,Severe Service; Every 3000 miles Oil/ Filter change( which I purchased : first time in 50:years): Dealer uses CONVENTional 5 W-20 Oil, with PERFORMAX ( White canister, Made in Mexico). Interestingly ,I am now at 48K now( though Dealer not change oil/Filter At first 8K when I purchased: Oil Change Warning light came on at approx 8.7 K)!! Considering, doing myself and MOBIL ONE/ Napa gold Filter, etc .. (( I,been INSTALLING NAPA GOLD/wix after 1-2K PERFORMAX filter use many times, Also, I initially installed K&N Filter ,though until recently: switched back to MOPAR AIR FILTER **( extremely Dusty here in Helena MT, though no Problems at this Mileage). ThoughtsPlease?.......& Knowledge Of Maintainability you have ? Thank you....
Interestingly, my 2015 Journey 4 CYL HAS A DIFFERENT engine cover: could not loosen Dealer’s PERFORMAX OIL FILTER (labeled now made in “USA”), as I am have new ROYAL purple OIL Filter... JUST THOught I had best RECHECK procedure AND protocol ....I do have Filter Wrench , though not fit good.....etc......
Thank you for watching, the bolt doesn’t leak and it isn’t stripped but I do have an extra one just in case but for now that one is just fine. Have a good day 👍🏼

Ps: I ALWAYS double check Cross Reference appropriate & reliable Catalog/reference listing; & Oil Filter Canister ITSELF.....actually used to recheck FILTER RECOMMENDATIONS ON a Packagin, or WRAPPING: then carefully hand tightening, and one quarter tighten carfull ( my hand & arm strength has deterioted over 50 plus years) and THEN CHECK FOR LEAKS AFTER finishing 13 MM OIL bolt, etc...UNFORTUNATELY, I found out hard way to double check myself and not Hurry ( loose bolt coupe of times, etc,...) never used washers separate, from Oil Pan OEM: But had to replace two ( ?) over the years; kind of not seal or thread not good!,.. PS, ALWAYS prelube, and fill Filter, etc...

Great Video I Was Wondering How The Journey Has Been Treating You Mechanic Wise Does It Have Flaws or Is It Problematic?? Thank You
Mechanically it's been good I've had no issues. There was two recalls for the vehicle but the dealership took care of them quickly.
