I have a question, I have a 2016 Dodge Journey SXT V6 and oil is 5W-20 does it matter what oil brand I use? Or do I have to use the oil brand that recommends in the owners manual?
You guys rock. Just subscribed. The battery died in this car so my wife gave it to me and bought a new car. Most expensive free car I’ve ever had. After six months screwing with parasitic draw I bought a new battery and jumper cables to leave in the back seat. It has never not started again. Go figure.
"Common Sense" would tell you if a metric or imperial wrench fits best. Not much common sense left with the younger generation! Some have it...most do not.
I have a 2018 journey crossroad ,there's 2 different types of filters one like the video you showing, and the other have like a spring or extra plastic on the bottom part,my question is ,which one is the right one , thank you !!!
good class, probable should let people know why it is over a little over on the dip stick before you start it. after starting the oil will fill the oil filter.
Great video. I wished you zoomed in on the drain plug location and on the sip stick oil level. Other than that thanks for the great advice! Will be subscribing!
Hey i was gonna ask if you have ever encountered the problem im having with my 2017 dodge journey. I was told about a year ago that the issue with my car is the pistons are to big and when they cycle in an out of the engine they pull oil out of my car.. have u ever ran into this before?
i have a problem and i hope i could get some help i have a 2011 dodge journey it wants to start but then dies and i get a display saying ignition or accessory on i also smell like antifreeze alternator and battery are new
Will you be making a video on replacing the harness that goes through to the rear hatch? Dodge is notorious for having their wires break. Like your videos, they are very informative!
Thanks. Very useful. There’s only one question. On the minute 5:50 you talk about the size of the socket for the oil filter gasket removal and said it is a 25mm. Then, for the torque wrench you also said to set it up to 25mm. I think something is missing here, shouldn’t you say how many kilogram or pounds of strength need to be set up to?
FYI the 3.6 V6 engine takes 5.6 liters of oil after letting the engine drain for 10 minutes,on the side of the oil jugs they have a clear marking how many liters you're using by the line.
@@jamesahern9864 Other way around but yes. In Canada I use 5W 20 in the winter as it is thinner, and lubricates the engine quicker on cold starts. I use 5W 30 for the couple months of heat we get, as it protects and coats the engine more during hotter weather. Keep in mind Dodge recommends 5W 20 of all the Journeys I have seen. The 5W 30 is preference
You keep believing the internet hype, Skippy. Fram has been around for many decades. Never a lawsuit claiming their oil filter caused an engine failure. Watching too many oil filter videos with skewed info!

Thank you so much for your channel! You guys have already saved me hundreds in maintenance/labour costs.
Great video. I just bought a 2014 Journey and this helps greatly for a diy guy like me thanks.😎
Nice to see people actually try still
the drain plug is actually a 1/2 inch, along with many other dodge vehicles. Be careful when using a 13mm, it can round the plug.
And the oil filter is a 15/16.
"Common Sense" would tell you if a metric or imperial wrench fits best. Not much common sense left with the younger generation!
Some have it...most do not.

What do you mean by 25mm of pressure on the torque wrench?

My friend can you please do a video to show how to fix 2016 dodge journey ground shortage because my car low beam is flickering

So a full jug then a bottle of Lucas oil stabilizer!
Why is the oil screw so hard to take out on my journey? You make it look so easy
The last guy who changed it probably used a powerful impact wrench.
Buenos días, mtros , gracias por la orientación, felicidades; ojalá que hagan videos en español, Gracias, Dlsb.
I have dodge journey 2019 4 cylinders ; which type of oil suitable for it?
Does it matter if it’s conventional vs synthetic oil? Which is better? 2015 sxt v6 model

You should probably torque the drain plug to spec as well sir.
How many pounds of torque for oil filter
What is the difference in 5W 20 and 5W 30 pls explain
Viscosity. Cold climates need more viscosity, warm climates less.

u da man.
FYI - FRAM oil filters are the worst on the market. WIX, the best, makes Micro Guard sold by O'Reilly's. 10 times the filter as a Fram.
You keep believing the internet hype, Skippy. Fram has been around for many decades. Never a lawsuit claiming their oil filter caused an engine failure. Watching too many oil filter videos with skewed info!
Mine holds 6 quarts
👌
I wouldn't use fram I hear it's a lousy cheap filter.
Agree, plus the original Mopar filter is readily available and not expensive.
👍
Not the same oil filter for a 2015 🙄 should have researched more instead of going off of this video.
is it just me or did it look like he jacked that up on the floor pan
Fram is a really crapy filter,Just for your 411.I'd rather use wixs or Mopar.
Take the containers off of my hood!!!
So practice what you preach, why is not your mechanic not wearing a pair of safety glasses.
Safety Nazi ALERT!! Snowflake engaged!!
