This is amazing. It actually is an awesome trick - you can porc heavily in t1 stage and fool your opponent into not pushing in so you "waste" lots of metal on useless defences, only to drop them down onto opponent's heads as soon as you make some transports. I really need to do that in game now :D
12:50 One thing you missed was that mimi121314 was reclaiming the constructors *while making the AFUS!* Mimi you already had the mass and energy required, you needed build power to finish it quicker!
I would argue the opposite. The window of vulnerability to this is a few seconds. The eradicator is about double the price of an abductor/beamer combo. AA is kind of prohibitively expensive in the back line, which is why it's usually a response only after planes are already sighted. If you imagine say, mr tumnus have AA ,he only has about 10 seconds of abductors even being in range, and he would have had to micro his AA to make it even shoot the abductors and not the screening fighters. IMHO, the reason to build ground based AA is partially to ward off shurikens, but it's largely to just tax the apm of the air wall player, to accumulate value over time, and to deny parts of the airspace to the enemy during non-mass air assault situations. MOST of the game is played where the air players are avoiding loss and building up, and that is when AA is useful, because if you can snipe a few planes here and there, you can have a large effect. And it's also just to give advanced warning of air attacks. Many AA pieces have good airlos, particularly the screamer, which as INSANE LOS against air attacks. but as for actually shooting bombers down, it's fantastically costly to do so. They just move too fast, are too easy to control, and have too much health. The window of relevance for an AA piece against bombers is tiny. If the bomber flies directly over your AA piece, it's on the order of 10 seconds. If it attacks something right next to your AA piece, it's often half that. What the higher level response to this would have been would be rapid, rapid counter porc. It only takes about 2 con turrets to zero the dps of a beamer at max range, so beamer v beamer is basically completely reliant on repair support. With a net of beamers around back line bases, it would have been extremely quickly shut down. Just stop all construction, mass build porc, mass repair everything, and then kill the enemy beamers. This is also why the tactic is not popular. Some time, watch say, skinner (notreal) respond to close threats, particularly leaks. This is basically the strat, as a back lineer. He immediately gets his build power to build porc, and the porc comes online incredibly quickly, because it will have thousands of build power behind it. Far faster than ground units could move to the relevant location.
@@timmietimmins3780 generally ground aa is rather efficient, it's just that the amount of investment to stop a bomber one of the tankier t1 aircraft is not what you just randomly make, now if you could have scouted the bombing run you have reason to make aa though. Other issue is cost investment, you get a lot of aa bang for your buck, but often times the enemy doesn't bother busting your aa, they go around or they go on the ground, so you need to focus on the ground game while having some air cover in case things happen. I do recommend enough aa to stop scouts, the less the enemy knows what to bomb the more time you have to counter bombers
@@andrewgreeb916 In most cases, it's infinite efficiency, because bombers don't generally bomb AA. the issue is that it's bad damage per cost, especially when you multiply the damage per second by the duration you can expect to be in firing range. Just compare dps per metal. A birdshot is about 2 metal per dps. The eradicator is 1.25. A nighthawk is slightly over a quarter of a metal per dps. You need a LOT of mileage out of AOE to compete with fighters, with ground AA. Or you need to shoot the fighters down almost immediately. If the defender pushes his fighters into yours, takes 80% losses, and then wins, he STILL does as much dps per metal as your eradicator line. But the time on target for the fighters will now be much better.
@@timmietimmins3780 yeah, ground aa is often feels bad because it's not often you get air to deal with and when you do it's trying to run past you in a hurry. Ground aa is just not mobile enough to be where it needs to be when it counts.
@6:00 That first "Y" in the hills. Everyone seems to get bushwhacked when the players from the north comes in and the player there always leaves that lane wide open for a flanking attack from the right.
Hahah really nice! Honestly I think this makes a lot more sense than the usual Nostradamus! You just don't need that many to still be effective as shown here
There is a reason they were doing this in "all welcome" or "Noob Glitters" lobbies. They did this to me one time, and next game, same lobby, got smacked and lost due to a massive Anti Air Wall I put up. My suggestion to them is only once per lobby, as the next game you'll have what I did happen to them and double hand lose the game for their team moving forward. To also do it in a "Noobs only" lobby is also scummy but welcome to BAR xD. I learned and adapted. I can provide the replay if wanted on them losing to my air wall. As is tradition in BAR, they got flamed the second game even though they just won the last game, this community is on crack sometimes XD. I say GG WP to mimi and duo, we need more crazy strats and insane meta breaks, just not on the poor noobs please >.
I just play my first multiplayer last night. Total failure. Cant even figure out the economy, and im being put in the frontline. Ended up just making 5 mace, and 2 gaintlet tower then 7 sniper then the frontlines fall
Watch some higher tier lobbies. Focus on one player rather than the whole game. Best way to learn the flow of most matches. This is, of course, map dependent.
Believe it or not, frontline is the way new players learn. WIthout knowing frontline, no way it is possible to do backline. Also being a backline player has duties that a new player doesn't know/understand.
Someone in a BAR lobby said you liked my name! I am onoroboto! and you are right about the fake japanese! its a combination of "Oh No! Roboto!" and Oni Roboto which i believe means The Only Roboto. Anyway hit me up if you ever want some free music for your channel. Have a good one!
Constructive feedback: at 8:15, blue goes in with their tanks on the pink army... But you just leave and look somewhere else. It's absolutely infuriating. Same at 14:40. I've seen this a bunch of times on different videos and each time it's annoying. It's impossible anyway to see everything that's going on, sure, you don't want to miss some big moment, but I feel like the tradeoff of losing the thread of the current situation is not worth it. I know it's more time investment and I think you're not doing it on purpose, but I feel like the videos would get much better if you'd watch the game on 20x speed first just to identify and write down times of interesting moments, and then doing a "normal" cast afterwards just loosely keeping those times in mind, just so you don't miss them and can stay more focused on interesting fights or similar.

That was really nicely played. Love it!
This is why you build AA turrets, even if your dedicated Air player has a solid wall. You never know what the enemy is brewing.

I recently got up to OS 26, and when I logged in the next day I was back on 16.52?? 2:36

That's the juggernaut. Titans can still be disabled by enough emp
Wow cool strat haha
I (solarseige) was pissed. We were close to winning mid and then this happened. Seems hard to defend against. Mimi has done this a few times now.
I think all that was missing was some bible quotes, appropriately sized in a minimal form!!
You can do weaker version of this with the T1.5 trans and just drop the beamers on a front line. Very weak to aa though

and robot is my nickname my friend joji gave me. he is in a band called Bog Monkey that has an album out called Hollow. It's good.
that seems really busted honestly
If you have fighters, it’s easily stopped
@@DravenX37 It is the lack of scouting really that killed the team. Never a good idea to let the opponent scale without knowing what they are doing
