Seems like the acceleration to 60mph is around 50-51seconds. ..pretty cool!! Its important to note some of the time , the driver didnt always go straight into notch 4. So I'd even speculate it may actually be 49 seconds to 50 seconds to 60mph.
Nah, the 387s are a bit heavier I I. And are geared to 110mph The class 379 is faster to 60mph by like....almost ten seconds it's ridiculous lmao. But sure these have the same body shells and traction. Equipment
@@wharris302 yep, I did say that, but yh. Tbh though, they could have definitely been faster, if 350s can be 110 and 49 seconds to 60mph , whilst also weighing the same then so can these trains.
@@gapthemind--mindthegap8524i didnt expect that.. i mean i takes 1 min 37 sec to reach our dutxh max speed of 140 Km/H or 87 MPH.. our slowest regional train takes 1 min to reach it and our fastest 47 seconds. Our slowest intercity train takes 1 min 37 sec to reach it. But hour fastest only 50 sec.. so thats why i thought its a bit slow
@AviatorMinion oh right your British, makes sense . This is moderately fast for trains over here. The uk has the Infrustructure power to make them fast. The problem is their so hellbent on keeping it the same . Our fastest train to 78mph in around 40 seconds is the class 331. The uk gives its trains relitively lower power outputs that run on efficiency. They could easily just boost it up. Its stupid . Our slowest trains are on third rail power. They take 4 to 6minutes to 100mph..its stupid. Depending on the train. The trains are built with software limits on purpose
@@gapthemind--mindthegap8524 thats really stupid, and the funny thing about NL, ours are also limited but our fastest regional train SNG could reach top speed of 100 MPH in under 45 sec so ye.., the fastest intercity reacha top speed of 230MPH bit limited to 200 in service
@AviatorMinion the NS sprinter made by CAF hits 100mph in under 44 seconds !?!?!? 🤣wtf. I don't know why we are so limited here. The train featured in my video technically could have just been given 300kw motors as opposed to 250kw. They have 6 motors. The 387s are quick for what they are. But damn...the NSG is 45 seconds .that's crazy 🤣🤣
Great video. ☺️
Aye my guy, my fellow 465 fan, I'm gonna upload a 20 min video of pure 465 "ride galore "

Man, 387s sound awesome, but so do all electrostars, but the 387s seem louder than the rest
Electrostar 2s are actually louder . I love it
The Class 387s are the same as the Class 377/6/7 and Class 379.

the traction seems pretty slow to me if I had to be honest
Their actually faster than the 800s to accelerate
