I have tried 10 times to support on your patreon but all my cards keep declining. All my cards work domestic + International but patreon declines every one of them. Can I pay you using any other method you like. I really want to see your patreon content. :( @JonasNoell

This is really a coincidence, yesterday I was desperately looking for a good VRay Fur tutorial, and then you post this. Now that's what I call good timing!

Hello Jonass, great tutorial as always !
From VRay help files, it looks like the RGB maps for bend direction & initial direction are working like Normal Maps. Hence you have to avoid Blue values beteen 0-127 and to dim the effect you mix the map on top of a plain 128-128-255 color. I tried and it works great, I think it's a bit more elegant than your method.

      @@JonasNoell My pleasure
While being a VRay user since almost the beginning, I'm still learning new things in your tutorials. This one gave me the energy to try again VRayFur, and with the correct use of the maps, it's a game changer. thank you for opening my eyes ;)

if it's for animation you need to check the celular maping, otherwise it won't stick to the skin modifier

This thing is so cute and funny! Thank you for the tutorial! I've never used Vray Fur extensively, I wish Max got proper modern updates for Hair&Fur and Cloth.
How does Vray Fur fare in animation, would Ornatrix be a safer bet, especially in terms of realistic physics based behaviour?

Hi I guess in this case Ornatrix probably has more features. It should also work with animation thought
