@@devondryden3212 I mean AFAIK they only announced a tour which I'm very grateful for. I don't recall them wanting to make a new album, though. That might change during their tour, but tbh I wouldn't get my hopes up.
You HAVE to listen to the whole The Black Parade album. Nowadays is considered one of the most important albums of the 2000s. Welcome to the Black Parade has been compared as the Bohemian Rhapsody of 2000s as well and Brian May even performed the song with them back in 2011. And well, the band broke up in 2013 but just announced their reunion last year in Oct 31 and the tickets went sold out in like 5 minutes which is crazy. They were supposed to started touring again this year but due to Covid 19 it was rescheduled for next year.
The Black Parade is a rock opera centering around the character of "The Patient". It is about his passage out of life and the memories he has of it. "The Patient" dies and death comes for him in the form of a parade. This is based on singer Gerard Way's notion of death appearing to a person in the form of their fondest memory, in this case seeing a marching band as a child.
my daughter turned me on to this band when she was like 13 years old. took her to nashville to the black parade tour and have been hooked ever since. i am 60 and she is now 25 and we still rock out together to this band. not a one hit wonder. you should listen to the whole black parade album
So it was Christmas of 09 I was 25 and my grandmother asked me what I wanted, I told anything would be ok but if she wanted she could get me this MCR album. She got it for me but when I opened it she told me she didn't like me listening to "that kind of music" I asked her what she meant and she said by the cover it looks like "devil music" I laughed and told her to just listen to it. She went and grabbed her CD player and I played her this song, she fell in love with it, in fact she loved it so much she wanted it played at her funeral. In 2016 she passed and I granted her wish and used the CD she bought me and had this song played for her.
I'm 42, I was in my 30s when I found them and dare I say I was a HUGE fan. My daughter was born in 2009, and last summer she found The Black Parade CD from my car and was impressed by the cover art. She wanted me to play the CD and she became an instant fan. She absolutely loves the band and was heartbroken when I told her that the band was no longer active. I saw them in 2008, just before I got pregnant, and hopefully we'll be able to see them some day when this Covid mess is over and (hopefully) they get to go on tour again.
fun fact the characters in this video that aren't the band have names and the whole album is about them the lady in the gas mask is Mother War the dude with the black eyes is the patient and the two nurses are named fear and regret

Most of us 80's metalheads shit on emo because it was lifeless and talentless, but this band carried on the tradition!. The were very good musicians, the music had power, and the singing was about as good and passionate as you can get. They carried on the spirit of Heavy Metal!
This song is an anthem for an entire generation and it is a great song, if you want to understand the general mindset of another generation, listen to their music, cool reaction vid, thanks
This was actually 2006, before the time of music videos being officially released and uploaded on RUclips, RUclips would have only been a year old at the time and would have been seen as a relatively new thing. This was still the time when the primary way to see a music video was on TV the old fashioned way. The video was uploaded to RUclips officially in 2009 though. Also I definitely wouldn't say they were 1 hit wonders lol
They've stopped playing for a few years and finally scheduled some shows just before the pandemic. Seems like you really like their artistic side. You might actually enjoy the Netflix show version of the comic book their vocalist wrote, which is about, you guessed it, the apocalypse! Great stuff!
Great reaction video ! This song actually came out in 2006 , not 2009 . MCR is one of the greatest bands of the 2000's imo . Started in 2001 and broke up in 2013 , they got back together last year. You have to check out "The Ghost of You" by them. A very powerful music video and probably my personal favorite song of theirs! It's really beautiful. "Helena" is another must-watch!

I keep seeing people say 2009 but this song came out in 2006, I was definitely in high school when it came out. The whole album is a good listen, it’s the story of a cancer patient dying and coming to terms with it and though this isn’t the last song on the album, it’s when he passes on and the video makes such a good show of it.
(on mobile, can’t edit) The 2009 date thing makes perfect sense to me now seeing the vid was posted in 2009 and since first time reactors never heard of the band and are going into it blind, it makes perfect sense y’all don’t know this whole album came out years before it was posted to youtube. :3 The three years makes sense with youtube only being launched in 2005 and needing years to gain enough traction for established acts (especially in music after online piracy had been a hot issue) and companies to see posting it online themselves as beneficial.
I just found you channel and I really love your way of reacting to different styles of music. If you ask me, you really need to listen to a few more songs by MCR, my suggestions are: - Ghost of you - I don't love you - Famous last words - Helena - Mama - Cancer - Nanana(nanana) - I'm not okay

One hit wonder is way off 😂
Well, they only “got back together” for a tour. They are not a band, still. It’s just for a reunion because fans wanted so.
