Sorry about the reupload. For some reason, Adobe decided to randomly bypass the audio levels I had in one segment and I didn't catch it, even after rendering.
Personally I'd really like to see a sequel that was more like Freelancer except set in the Crimson Skies universe. Starting with a low level plane and a small zeppelin, you could freely travel between all the different territory/states, engaging in piracy, doing missions for different factions, delivering cargo, finding hidden treasure, etc. Throughout the campaign, you could use money to upgrade your zep, planes, and wingman, as well as buy new planes and zeppelins.
Crimson Skies' world has such originality, they can remake the original PC game and call it a day. Depending on how they want to approach it, they even split them up into different several games for each of the story arcs along with multiplayer "season".
Glad to see a video on this game. Absolutely adore this games setting, and while I feel like the era is kind of oversaturated with alternate stories of ww2, this world still has room to diverge some amount and explore all over. Hopefully in a future sequel we'd get to explore the Atlantic or Pacific more, and in doing so we'd get to see more of the larger world.
Excellent video, JK. Crimson Skies could've been one of the flagship franchises of Xbox but Microsoft just abandoned it. I've only played through it maybe twice I think, but Crimson Skies is easily one of the best Original Xbox games, easily top 10 in my book. And that multiplayer session we had? No joke that was some of the most fun I've had with a game in a long time, I'm so ecstatic to play again. And good work on explaining the lore, I could tell you were fascinated with the lore and franchise history. Looking forward to your next project!
18:21 "how this zeppelin would work"- so there's two rear-mounted pusher propeller engines, so far so basic; the center hanging gondola or 'basket' would hold cargo and ballast, to keep the airship in trim, not too heavy, not too light; I think the forward gondola or car is the living/control area, like a trucker's cab, but also right next to a cable and winch that allow anchoring/tie-down by the nose, so the pilot can enter/exit the airship from the ground. Like a hot air balloon with extra stuff slapped on all haphazard-like.
Almost 20 years since the last time i play it and i can finaly said this "Fuck that jungle mission" why ? Because it stop all my progress on that game, make it my first unfinish it game P.s it's compatibile to xbox series x so, not all hope it's lost
Really enjoyed the video and you’ve convinced me to play the game again haha. I thought the world building in this game was insane and still would love to see more of the world be flushed out . I didn’t know there were books!! Thanks again for the great listen.
