The fact that it takes a 17 minute video to explain Destiny content licensing is an example of how predatory Bungie is towards its new and returning players. Bungie markets Destiny as "free to play" but it's definitely not that. They need to do the right thing and wrap all past licenses into the latest annual release with The Final Shape. This would get so many players coming back to the game.
ABSOLUTLEY! I havnt played Destiny seriously since Destiny 1. I played SOME when Destiny 2 came out and i TRIED to play a few years ago, but with all the GARBAGE i saw about needing to buy this pack and that DLC JUST to play certain dungeons, i uninstalled the game IMMEDIATLY after installing it and i never looked back. IF they would release Final Shape, for even $60 with EVERY SINGLE previous DLC INCLUDED, id buy it and come back to the game. Otherwise, Bungie can GET FUCKED!
hey! just one thing: The Witch Queen Dungeon Key (2000 Silver = ~USD 20) grants players access to both the Duality AND Spire of the Watcher dungeons for that price. No need to spend 4000 silver! 😉
If you are looking to spend money, I'd start with the legacy collection, ideally on sale. Good amount of content with the best campaign. Lightfall is buying the ability to unlock strand, forsaken is adding exotics to the loot pool (meaning activities that exotic drops can now include forsaken exotics and you can buy forsaken weapons from the exotic kiosk).

there is just move Ur old characters through linking the accounts for xbox steam epic etc and make ur main account that u want the cross save one in this case steam and yea that's it note tho you won't get to keep the queen expansion like you will have to launch it from steam to get do it if that makes sense@@G8Thunder
I wanted to get back into destiny as I love the gameplay bought one or two expansions before roughky £100 . Watched this and realising what the public says about bungie is true . All these pay walls are a nightmare . I’m happy to pay £40 to unlock all new and old so I can jump in like Warcraft , but as it stands i can’t keep up with which to buy bases on what me or my friends want or can afford .
I think if your a returning player your better off waiting for the expansions to go on sale as opposed to getting them when there full price. sure you would have to wait but it would be well worth it because you would only be spending around 100-125 dollars as opposed to 300

The Galaxy Brain move is just buying the standard edition of Final Shape, buying the dungeon key and only playing the raids/dungeons since those are where the guns worth your time drop. If the last three seasons are any indicator, the Episode weapons could be very mid. Also, y'know, waiting for stuff to go on sale is always a good idea.

Mobalytics is great, but the lack of DIM integration with it really kills it for me - super tempted to make an extension for it...

Man i was so excited about the game at first... But the amount of paywalls and general confusion about lore, systems and the whole game is just too much.
Since lots of them are in sale and if I do want to get the most sales out of them, not sure which bundles I should get... I was thinking -legacy edition -> includes, witch queen dlc &beyond light dlc& forsaken dlc for $24( not sure if these unlocks new characters too) -Armory collection (30th anniv & forsaken pack) to unlock most of the exotic weapons and raids for $15 and if u think I should get anything else lmk!
Legacy collection doesn't have forsaken, its shadow keep dlc, get legacy collection, you'll be getting 3 raids, 1 dungeon, 3 campaigns, stasis, and all exotics from each dlc and when their on sale you will definitely be saving a lot by buying it

For 20 dollars you get a single activity with an exotic (which is an RNG drop from the dungeon so don’t expect to get it immediately on purchase). Don’t get the 30th anniversary bc its more money for basically the same amount of content as the other dungeons, unless you REALLY want those armor cosmetics.
In terms of content per dollar, yes. But 30th anniversary pack is by far the best in terms of obtainable loot. Matador is the best pvp shotgun, 1000 yard stare is a top tier pvp sniper, eyasluna is great in pve and pvp and ghorn is the best overall heavy in the game. A new player can run a couple grasps and come out with a really competent raid or pvp ready loadout. Duality and spire give you forgettable exotics, some mid as hell legendaries besides a niche special gl and a replaceable void smg, and have ugly as hell armor besides the cowboy hats.
It's crazy to me that they completely removed the story and locations from the previous expansions, as a returning playing from the shadowkeep days this means my only recourse is to watch lore videos instead of actually playing the game... I was so hype that the expansions were all on sale today and now I don't even wanna install the game
I’m not sure if Lightfall actually give’s access to vexcalibur. I have two friends who bought Lightfall recently and they haven’t been able to access the mission, I’m guessing it’s tied to season of defiance. It’s probably going to become available to everyone in the future though.

You forgot to mention they can’t access nightfalls on specific weeks without the legacy collection meaning they won’t have access to as much powerful / exotic rewards
The dungeon keys, are they one time use or one time buy? I used to play the game a lot back when witch queen released but this one thing in the game now confuses me
Dungeon keys are a paywall to make you spend more then the base expansion price. Want a dungeon like we used to have as part of the expansions? Now you have to pay 10 more dollars.
JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW EVERY EXPANSION IS LITERALLY $3.00 RIGHT NOW EXCEPT FOR WITCH QUEEN ($10.00) LIGHTFALL($20.00) AND BUNGIE BUNDLE IS $5.00. So all expansions together are only 40 bucks maybe 45 dollars!! Gives you time to grind out whatever content you want and save some cash on the side so later this year or a bit sooner you could get the final shape.
I think the biggest question you are not answering, is if a new player should spend all that cash and his TIME grinding levels just to catch up to veterans to enjoy the game in the (IMO) sorry state it is now. Microtransaction hell.

I just discovered now that you need to buy the latest expansion to have access to the Trials of Osiris in my opinion that should be free to access bc a small community in trials means everybody is a full blow sweat on the other hand a large community means a better experience for everybody with a healthy population of noobs and tryhards

Fact that there's buyers guides is ridiculous, hopefully for Bungie's sake when final shape comes out they just release a complete collection with discounts if you own any items already to fn simplify things for new and returning players.
I'm a returning player, last expansion I owned was beyond light. I mainly play pvp activities and pve sometimes. And idk which expansion should I get first, and if the 30th anniversary pack is worth it.
I’m willing to bet each episode in Final Shape is $15, and definitely not over $20. We’re going from 4 seasons per year to 3 episodes, there isn’t going to be a large increase in yearly content.

An where I don't have a dedicated fire team.. or really one at all.. I am unable to continue.. I love destiny.. I have put more hours into it .. then all other games combined... But also😢my back catalog is full busting at the seems... hello there i have a question, i'm an old school Destiny 1 and 2 players, i stopped the game at the end of the witch queen 1st season, i bought the annual pass tho, now i relog and i will most certainly buy the final shape + annual pass, but i'm not sure what to buy right now, i saw the final season in Lightfall will be released in about 2 weeks and i'm wondering if i'll have access to the last season totally (free and paying content) if i buy Lightfall expansion in 2 weeks when the last season will be released or if i'll have to buy the season manually because it won't be included in the standard eddition ? Nope You would have access to a few other expansions that are semi free now tho, so you’d get a good amount of content Unfortunately a lot of content is kinda gone now, like forsaken is just weapons now, no campaign

He's uploaded multiple builds to mobalytics, you can also find builds from other popular buildcrafters there sorted by class, element, and pve/pvp

Lightfall is one of if not the worst expansions the game has ever had, lack of player base, ridiculous price, zero new player friendly aspects, awful story, terrible pvp, the longest season in destiny ever and it seems to have some of the least content since season of the worthy, no sense of achievement with everything being handed to you on a silver platter, consistent game breaking issue’s, and a false sandbox claiming everything is viable when in fact very few things are viable. I think that’s enough reasons not to purchase this game but if u need more let me know
If I buy The Final Shape, will I get the subclasses of the others DLCs when it releases?
Nah beyond light and lightfall subclasses are not gonna be included in final shape dlc

You forgot to mention they can’t access nightfalls on specific weeks without the legacy collection meaning they won’t have access to as much powerful / exotic rewards
The dungeon keys, are they one time use or one time buy? I used to play the game a lot back when witch queen released but this one thing in the game now confuses me
Dungeon keys are a paywall to make you spend more then the base expansion price.
Want a dungeon like we used to have as part of the expansions? Now you have to pay 10 more dollars.

JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW EVERY EXPANSION IS LITERALLY $3.00 RIGHT NOW EXCEPT FOR WITCH QUEEN ($10.00) LIGHTFALL($20.00) AND BUNGIE BUNDLE IS $5.00. So all expansions together are only 40 bucks maybe 45 dollars!! Gives you time to grind out whatever content you want and save some cash on the side so later this year or a bit sooner you could get the final shape.
I think the biggest question you are not answering, is if a new player should spend all that cash and his TIME grinding levels just to catch up to veterans to enjoy the game in the (IMO) sorry state it is now. Microtransaction hell.

The only thing that is genuinely good from goa is matador duality is the most well rounded dungeon by far
I just discovered now that you need to buy the latest expansion to have access to the Trials of Osiris in my opinion that should be free to access bc a small community in trials means everybody is a full blow sweat on the other hand a large community means a better experience for everybody with a healthy population of noobs and tryhards

Im still confused because guess what, they have changed it again since this video. Now more DLC are included in Legacy Collection all but Final Shape. I wanna play, get into it and enjoy it, but this just puts me off.

Fact that there's buyers guides is ridiculous, hopefully for Bungie's sake when final shape comes out they just release a complete collection with discounts if you own any items already to fn simplify things for new and returning players.

Just bought all the expansions on summer sale. Forsaken dlc was mehh... its deletes but they still charge money for it . I was disappointed
I'm a returning player, last expansion I owned was beyond light. I mainly play pvp activities and pve sometimes. And idk which expansion should I get first, and if the 30th anniversary pack is worth it.
All prices are wrong for dungeon. It's $20 for both dungeons per expansion. Not each

I’m willing to bet each episode in Final Shape is $15, and definitely not over $20. We’re going from 4 seasons per year to 3 episodes, there isn’t going to be a large increase in yearly content.

No way should anyone buy any of this stuff unless its on sale. Exceptions are the silver only dungeons if bought separately or final shape if you want to play at launch

Prices are getting stupid on this... Between d1 @ D2. I have paid enough to buy a Xbox series x. An have enough left to buy some games I can actually beat or at least get to the end... An where I don't have a dedicated fire team.. or really one at all.. I am unable to continue.. I love destiny.. I have put more hours into it .. then all other games combined... But also😢my back catalog is full busting at the seems... I am thinking about waiting because they about all way's drop the price after launch.. it's just high.. an I just get the leftovers for a premium price I should get a premium experience.. I think they have a fire team finder now.. but that may be to little to late

To. Be honest the fact that content that you paid for gets removed later on in the games life cycle means you best other think of the content as an expensive Big Mac.

hello there i have a question, i'm an old school Destiny 1 and 2 players, i stopped the game at the end of the witch queen 1st season, i bought the annual pass tho, now i relog and i will most certainly buy the final shape + annual pass, but i'm not sure what to buy right now, i saw the final season in Lightfall will be released in about 2 weeks and i'm wondering if i'll have access to the last season totally (free and paying content) if i buy Lightfall expansion in 2 weeks when the last season will be released or if i'll have to buy the season manually because it won't be included in the standard eddition ? So guys inlight me please, Lightfall + annual pass now ? 2 weeks last before the last season available or it's not worth it and i just wait 2 weeks to buy just standard eddition on 28th november ? You would have access to a few other expansions that are semi free now tho, so you’d get a good amount of content
