In the 'combo that never fails' why do you use Sonic Shock after Synapse Burnout? Don't you need Synapse Burnout to be 4th in queue to be RAM reduced + dmg boosted by the Queue Mastery perk? And what's the use of Sonic Shock in general in this, does it work on someone who's already down to make others ignore them? Or is it for the Tetratronic cyberdeck that dmg boosts combat hacks followed by non-combat hacks?
This video actually re-invented netrunning for me because I didn’t even know about most of hack combos. One more reason to walkthrough Cyberpunk again as a netrunner.
choom! you will never go back once you jacked in! used to be a sandi guy and tried a deck out for fun...i never deinstalled. the sheer power of just standing there and melting gonk brains by looking at them is intoxicating. i mostly use a katana because guns are not needed and katana blocks bullets. just have a satara with me because its fun shooting through walls. you can just drive casually by some gonks, upload contagion + overheat and 3 sec later ... death and chaos without reducing speed. also car quickhacks are just fun!!
@@sion7651I’m the opposite, trying a sandi build since I’ve RELIGIOUSLY only played Netrunner since I got the game. But everytime I see a vide like this it makes me wanna go through the game as a runner again 😭
@@sion7651I don’t get the net runner hype tbh. I’ve tried multiple times since launch to get into a netrunner build and always have ended up switching. It’s the most incredibly boring and unintuitive way to play the game imo. I mean I get that it’s op af, but that play style was just never enjoyable to me. I guess I’m more of a shotty run into the action kinda person, or a stealth pistol/throwing knife guy. Throwing knife is what I’m running for my current playthrough and it’s insanely fun and satisfying. I will say I like having the options of quickhacks for doing stealthy things, but I moreso use the non combat ones in synergy with stealth. I never got into the pure netrunner gameplay
The trick to Blackwall is to use the cut paste perk, and upload it on a netrunner that is trying to hack you. That way, it uploads for free on EVERYONE, killing entire encounters with a silenced shot to get the net runner to try and hack you and a single hack
I do this with self delete with a net katana build. Start an encounter with melee, get a finisher or two and the enemy runner will start hacking you. Hack him back with self delete and wipe the whole map for 4 RAM
You can start the overclocking of the cyberdeck, sonic shock or ping and than the blackwall hack, so you can use the blackwallhack at many enemys at the same time. It will spread and destroy a whole base in seconds. With the right build you destroy everything.
BTW, you can greatly increase the upload speed of Blackwall Gateway (or any other hack) simply by having it second or later in the queue. Having it queued also allows you to upload it to multiple enemies at once provided you have sufficient RAM, as you don't get blocked from using the hack until it has started uploading on at least one enemy. Since the enemy is going to be dead once the hack loads anyway (and it effectively guarantees detection), any 2 RAM hack will do.
The 'green' version of reboot optics is what I use because of the Embedded Exploit lvl. 2 trait (also great synergy with Subordination trait too). My go-to sequence is to pop Overclock, start loading the 1-2 combo of RO+Synapse Burnout on a few enemies, use (or have it automatically used if you drop too low on health) the bloodpump to trigger Adrenaline Rush + Juggernaut before the first SB gets executed and then load more RO+SB, rinse and repeat.
This works on any ultimate quickhack by the way, except for cyberpsychosis which is weird for some reason. The restriction (or ram reduction) is only added/removed once the quickhack begins upload. Edit: The self-destroy, detonate grenade and system collapse quickhacks have ram reduction built into their kit, and this effect is removed upon upload. Big asterisk, *upon upload.* Meaning you can queue ultimate quickhacks after a filler quickhack (ping, tier 5 reboot optics, memory wipe, etc) and still benefit from their ram reduction on multiple targets. System Collapse in particular is pretty nasty for a pure stealth netrunner build because you can queue more expensive quickhacks. Keep in mind that Data Recycler refunds 80% ram cost per quickhack in a queue, but if you dip into your health pool it's actually 160% during overclock, combined with the Sublimation perk. So it effectively pays for itself.
Something to note however, is this only works on the initial upload of Blackwall Gateway. Placing it second in the Q makes it upload fast but it slows down after jumping to another enemy, then speeds up again. Also doesn’t help at all VS Smasher which is a shame
One thing I found with system collapse is when the trace is triggered by a net runner and you have the counter hack perks, you can put system collapse on the net runner and it will not only stop the trace but spread to all enemies nearby essentially clearing a base which felt incredible as a God tier net runner
@@GadgetsGearCoffee it doesn’t happen all the time but if you have those perks if a trace is started by a netrunner they should be outlined in red automatically otherwise any of the optic cyber ware that lets you see enemies through wall helps
Burnout is better than Blackwall Gateway, but holy heck specing a build that makes BWG work and sending all their souls to digital hell is just so bad ass.
It is awesome! I couldn't justifiably rank it too high because of how much of a faff it is to get and how it is basically locked as one very specific method of use. But like I say, it is utterly brilliant!
In cyberpunk v1 synapse burnout would LITERALLY set the target's brain on fire. Evidence? The fucking fire that would shoot out of their eyes and mouth! 🧠🔥
@@SamBram imo "Hard to get" should not really factor into ranking. It feels like ranking "best headphones you can buy" but putting Sennheiser Orpheus in 10th place because of the cost. Just to clarify clarify, I think you do an amazing job at ranking things, and your perspective is lovely to hear, don't change anything. ❤
The thing I love about netrunning in 2077, despite it not being the mechanic I really wanted, is how versatile it is. Nearly every build and playstyle can benefit from a nicely fitted netdeck, often in ways berserk and sandy can't manage. And the runner focused builds are so interesting and varied just on their own. With a bit of creativity, you can really be spoiled for choice in how you engage with any given encounter.
I keep going back to the Sandy personally, maybe I just don't have the patience for netrunning. I think it's the tracking and the visual glitches you suddenly get from it, find it really annoying. Self-ICE and Sandy just feels more straight forward to me. One dimensional perhaps but easier on the eyes at least.
100% agree. I think having a militech cyberdeck with good smart weapons and variety of hacks makes for the most balanced well rounded build for every occasion. You can even rock monowhire if you get bored 😂
Okay I gotta add that system collapse is a must have if you want to counter hack netrunners. If they initiate a hack on you, proc system collapse on them and it'll kill all the other enemies they're proxying
The amount of Relentless Continuous Testing and Research Quality conducted for the production of this video, combined with the crystal-clear, "elevator pitch" - style of summarized business presentation, is what makes this video and the entire YT Channel of Sam Bram --> The Highest Quality Source of Information for Cyberpunk 2077!
Low level Weapon Glitch also has a long, "what's wrong with my gun" animation and is super cheap. My current build is me weapon glitching whole groups and then walking around finishing everyone with one or two Burya shots.
It's a bit sad how much he keeps sleeping on netgunning / netsniping. Not everyone wants to play their hacker as a 20 body tank who goes all in on HP. Unfortunately, you're railroaded into Overclock quite heavily. Not what I was looking for, so I ended up with a cyberdeck but don't use Overclock. And together with a sniper, that's still incredible. Reboot Optics + Cyberware Malfunction + Cyberware Malfunction + Sonic Shock gives a +60% damage bonus for your headshots or even 75% with the Rippler cyberdeck (which, just like Reboot Optics, he rated unfairly low imho) and then does the head bop you mentioned. Against smaller enemies, you don't even need all these bonuses, Memory Wipe + Reboot Optics is enough to drop skull enemies on Very Hard with the Overwatch, and then you use the automatic spread to silently take out the rest. If the spread triggers a netrunner trace, use Memory Wipe again to reduce progress, which also makes Systems Collapse cheaper. And when all hell breaks loose or you get into a boss fight, take out Breakthrough with all these damage buffs stacked, activate Kerenzikov, and a single bolt shot will probably be enough to trigger the next fight phase. I'm not looking for killing enemies via menu selection with a simplified one-trick cyberdeck, I prefer still having to aim and shoot while planning out my approach and applying the right modifiers, so these hacks and cyberdecks come in super handy even if Sam underrates them because he is usually testing stuff with one build instead of comparing each thing's maximum.
System collapse on the Arasaka deck just feels so right for a stealth netrunner build. Sometimes overclock causes your quickhacks to spread causing accidental trace progression, and in those scenarios it goes down to 4 cost becoming a cheaper memory wipe that also 1 shots anything short of a boss. Not to mention there's just something to be said for hitting overclock and literally 1 shotting an enemy, something about it is more satisfying than any of the 1 shot combos.
one thing of note if your gonna be a dedicated netrunner build, DO NOT take the Feedback Loop perk, at least as of now. theres a bug where if you get too many feedback stacks, it starts to go into the negatives and will actively start draining your ram, and if used in tandem with the overclock perk Sublimation, WILL ALSO DRAIN YOUR HEALTH! and the only way ive found to be able to stop it is to just quit out of the game.
I love using Cyberpsychosis for roleplay purposes. Imagine tapping into their security feed and seeing them fight amongst themselves. Then as you enter the building, initiate "self destroy" and watch the last enemy take the easy way out.
yup, RUclips blanket ban in certain words, not even allowing use with context is just unacceptable and more akin to censorship, which I detest to no end.
For roleplay purposes, cyberpsychosis is absolutely the most evil thing you could do & realistically netwatch's #1 priority should be to destroy every existing copy along with the means of production. The concept of cyberpsychosis being weaponized on someone's deck is absolute terror incarnate.
@@gloamgirl That would be blackwall gateway not cyberpsychosis, the later only affects the person you upload it to the former is actually contributing to the debilitation of the AI that is holding back literal hell from coming into contact with people. Not to mention that blackwall seems a bit too videogamey and lorewise would make no sense for V to use it like it's candy. Netwatch has shown via shards and in game lore that it can be tracked even when a person with better chrome than V uses it so....
I used the Iconic 'Cripple Movement' hack with the Relic Monowire upgrade and I was able to kill Smasher on Very Hard in about two minutes - nothing revolutionary, but, it was really funny to have him completely stationary as I ran around blasting him with Achilles lol
4:00 with weapon glitch, I have found if an enemy is using an iconic weapon, using weapon glitch can get them to drop it. Then after defeating them you can loot the dropped one and one off the body. So, one for you and one for the wall.
But, at dogtown its easier and you can choose and it gaurenteed, getting eddies isn't hard anyway, just do lots of assaults and sell the weapon, also gigs, i guess
I just used Detonate Grenade in the Don't Fear the Reaper ending on Very Hard difficulty, and it took Smasher all the way down to 50% health at the beginning of the fight. So as of version 2.11, it appears to be useful in one very specific moment.
One thing about reboot optics is that it can completely take out the majority of cyber psychos, apart from those in mech suits and the desert sniper. I didn't think it would work but you can simply reboot optics and walk up to them to choke them out. It's almost hilarious how easy it is and how much it removes from the encounters.
I've also found, if you can't wait till phantom liberty but you've reached high enough netrunning to get legendary quickhacks: Doing breach protocols on any walls/server/antennas/machines and getting the most difficult tier hack aka. (usually the 3rd one on any standard breach), is quite handy and quick to get you the crafting specs for the iconic and normal legendary quickhacks.
Yup, I've noticed that once you've unlocked all crafting specs for a tier, you start unlocking the next tier specs without being a sweat. Just make sure to do some level 2 breaching as well so you get the required components!
Yeah thats how I got all my iconic quickhacks personally, just from casual breach protocols on routers from mission to mission, one day I realised I had them all.
One of the understated upside of system collapse is that its great in stealth missions because it doesn't tiger a alert or even an enemy scan . You want to sneak into a room with 2 guys looking in different directions? Sure you can bait one away and take down one guy and then the other but it so much better (and faster)) to SC one and takedown the other at the same time. Also great when you are clearing a base unseen and every now and then send the SC to enemies in hard to reach places. It also doesn't kill the target, so very useful in missions that require no kills.
Depends which grenade the npc has. When you scan them you can see which type they have. Many seem to hold EMP and they are a stun so low damage. It might vary per gang type.
Yeah it must be since it can’t kill a minor enemy despite being able to bring Smasher on very hard from full health to first health gate in one activation.
What really elevated ping for my stealth build was when I realized I could tag pinged enemies even through walls, which causes them to be permanently visible to me. Its so busted. I sneak in, ping, tag everyone, and then sneak around in a perfect route taking out everyone without them even noticing a thing
iconic cyberware malfunction + iconic short circuit is my go to combo when not in overclock mode. when in overclock mode, iconic cyberware malfunction + system collapse will drop anything dead that's not a boss.
its times like that that make me wish overclock duration wasn't locked behind one quickhack there are so many other combinations that make netrunning fun with overclock sadly they dont help boost the duration of overclock.
My LMG crouch tank uses weapon glitch, cyberwear malfunction. The ultimate tanking is when the enemy can't even shoot at you and there is no greater damage buff than a stunned enemy with no cyberwear.
This video was AMAZINGLY helpful to me. My first playthrough was a really messy Netrunner build on 1.0 (that basically stopped even pretending to work once 2.0 came out) and this really did a lot to teach me about the 2.0 mechanics that I hadn't known about. Like a lot of how good Burnout is.
@@zangatsubankai ooohhhh!!!! Yea I saw a couple comments shortening it to burnout and I was like, WTF is burnout?! Do they mean overheat? Or Is there a secret hack I've never heard of since I just found out about Black Wall too?? I was confused.
Cyberpsychosis is a fun one, especially if there are many enemies. Use overheat and make few enemies go crazy, they will start shooting their own squad and take attention from hitting you. this perfect chaos makes you more room to smack the remaining enemies with your giant vibrating implement :D
Honestly, I don't know why everyone says "Sonic Shock is broken"... it does *exactly* what it *says* it does. Deafens them. Lowers their ability to detect you (as in see you when stealthed, can't hear your clunky feet as well). Scrambles their comms (as in cannot communicate with others, no calling for help "They are right here!"). And of course the Cloak. Lowering the trace was nice, but never listed in the description. Makes it, in essence, a lot like asking them to "please bring back that one time with that one exploit I loved..." Go ahead, I am certain many amateur hackers online are ready to prove their leet skillz... hack something, without being traced. Without leaving a huge trail *right to you.* Of *course* lowering your trace is a high end ability, not a low end one. You can detect enemy hacks direction as well. Even hilights em. One skill says it will lower trace. *no others do,* and it ain't Sonic Shock. Sonic shock deals with the enemy's ability to deal with you in meatspace. Memory Wipe in cyberspace. Be thankful they don't use those two on you.
I've found that in the super late game with Engineer 55, Chain Lightning sets targets on fire, allowing all tech weapons utilizing Bolt to ignite Contagion. It's very awkward to set up but the results are bloody satisfying, especially with a Kneel and Wallpuncher Satara. If you really like seeing big numbers with the Tetratronic Rippler Mk. 5, using Synapse Burnout third in the queue followed by a non-control quick hack fourth in queue increases the damage output by an additional 40%. It may be less RAM efficient but is a great way to show who's the best Netrunner in Night City.
Blackwall Gateway is by far #1. It can wipe full room of enemies with much more style than other things and it can literally wipe anything below 33% health. The only reason someone can argue about it is that just like Quantum Tuner, it is difficult to optimize but trust me, upload Blackwall on one enemy and right before it hits, activate Overclock and watch people scream in front of your eyes, if there are some tankier enemies work on them with other quick hacks.
Another excellent video. Bravo. Love how CDPR has tweaked and refined quickhacking with each update. Really appreciate your analysis as the interoperability of quickhacks has evolved over time.
Really stoked you've been pumping out the quality Cyberpunk content man, some of my most anticipated uploads throughout the week. Excited for your optimized cyberdeck builds, really curious what you've got cooked up!
Very nicely done! I'm mostly running ninja netrunner builds. What works really good for me is to use tier 3/4 short circuits + contagion in quick succession of one another, what's important here is that I run those on Raven or Arasaka cyberdecks. The Raven lets your first hack spread onto everyone in the vicinity and has increased range, while the Arasaka deck is really good economically cuz it reduces the hack costs and detection time. I normally use the Arasaka deck until I'm around level 25 and use the Raven up from there.
Air Dash is too fun to exclude from any build. I think we had no idea what we were missing in the game until it showed up; whether you're in combat or not the dash moves are a joy.
You’re a legend man! Ive missed your videos! had to stop watching them because I haven’t finished phantom liberty yet. Almost forgot how great they are!
Ive used Weapon Glitch on an NPC using an iconic - they drop the iconic, then produce a 2nd copy of the iconic and continue shooting at me. After they are down, I can loot the iconic they dropped AND the same iconic that is meant to be their loot on their corpse.
Definitely the most complicated playstyle but possibly the most rewarding if you're into chaining combos. Crazy that you can go pretty much the whole game without touching it
I sometimes think youtubers complicate stuff just for the sake of it. I literally walked through my game using Sonic shock > Overheat or synapse burnout when in ocerclock to extend duration. Everything drops like flies
@@CostelloDamianI hope you're right, I'm looking to get into the game soon and the Netrunner appeals to me, but this video is honestly overwhelming me and making me want to just use guns and forget about hacking altogether. I much prefer the idea of using as few hacks as possible, and just keeping a good solid set of reliable hacks.
@@CallMeMrX he definitely makes things complicated. She prioritize certain criteria over others that doesn't work with every build. Netrunning isn't that complicated once you get into it. It's actually quite simple with all the explanations.
I'm a newbie at 2077 and this has made me realize that my netrunner gameplay could be far more interesting than it is if I started working more with synergies lol. I'd been working with a bunch of ultimate quickhacks thinking that they must be some of the best and now I'm realizing that I could be doing far more for much less.
Thanks for this. I like to use netrunning to supplement my build rather than focus on it. Helps in both stealth and full combat. Haven't settled on which ones i like best even after about 80 hours in game. So far i generally do a memory wipe, double cyberware malfunction, short circuit to deal with anyone stealthily. In combat, I'll generally use cyberware malfunction and cripple movement for enemy management and contagion, short circuit and overheat for damage. This has given me some ideas on how to better set up my quick hacks.
You should really try axolotl a try with Blackwall Gateway. I turned it into something similar to your endless Sandevistan build. My current build has ~27 ram which is enough to start the gateway chain on a weaker enemy, let it bounce to a 2nd with my remaining RAM and then overclocking before the 2nd upload finishes. Each upload adds time to Overclock (with Overclock starting on the 3rd upload allowing for basically 2 free kills) which will allow you to just pump out bounces until the enemies run out. If they somehow survive my entire overclock duration I have enough RAM on kill and recovery to spend all my RAM on Blackwall Gateway and get it back by the time the upload finishes allowing me to immediately upload it again which will typically give me Overclock back. From there you just focus on standard healing Cyberwear and the tech healing perks to let you safely spend your HP
My favorite combo is memory wipe tier 4 together with short circuit and/or overheat. For tougher enemies, ive got cyberware malfunction. These few hacks deal with everything. Great video!
Weapon glitch actually saved my life in a battle with a cyber-phcycho mission who literally called me out that I was cheating. It was near the water where drugs were involved.
I will need a spreadsheet for this! xD I understand what you said in the vid but it's no way I will remember all the cues next time I boot up the game. irl memory wipe.
This is incredibly enlightening! I intend to play a female V and have her go all Lucy in my next playthrough. I'm really learning a lot! I still need to know the general strategy for stealth (since so many gigs encourage it for maximum rewards), open combat with the monowire, and boss battles (especially Adam Smasher during Don't Fear the Reaper path)
Great vid, covered the quickhacks well. Just to note if you're specced correctly for uploads (and why wouldn't you be if you're running Blackwall Gateway?) if you upload some incredibly low cost like Reboot Optics Tier 2 before Blackwall Gateway, the (very long) upload time of the 1st Blackwall Gateway is massively reduced.
At level 60 and fully decked out, I personally like to just use Cybernetic Malfunction + Short Circuit. You're SO strong at that point, it's faster to just go gun blazing in lol
System collapse coupled with overclock will drop entire groups in a breeze without allerting anyone. You can easily walk into a room, drop 5 enemies within second and still have not allerted anyone. It doesn't matter that you're losing a bunch of life if you're using heartpump and automatic healing at 50% HP cyberware. Since you're out of combat still you're generating the lost life (and healthboosters) back within seconds. The relevant part about System Collapse is that it doesn't initiate trace progress so you can just walz into any location and just drop people left and right. Sometimes you just got to wait a bit until overclock is available again. Sure, for bigger crowds and boss fights you still need other ways of dealing damage but then you just switch to overclocked (extra spread ->) Contagion + Overheat -> explosion combo and let loose with an automatic smart weapon (instant look-on while overclocked) to clean up whoever is still standing. Bosses I'll use weapon glitch, cyberware malfunction etc. and also unload with whatever automatic smart weapon while overclocked to automatically hammer all the weak spots. I'm playing on "very hard" difficulty so this is viable. But it also feels like even on "very hard" everything is viable, if you put some thought into your build.
That’s a good idea actually. I didn’t realize system collapse isn’t traceable. I’ve just been using memory wipe and black wall gateway and I keep having to scramble to kill the netrunner before he exposes me. I shall try system collapse instead and use the blackwall for proper heated firefights.
Just a little side note for the fellow netrunner builds. This is useful throughout the game, but is amazing when you are max level. So basically when you have breached a lot of access point on the city and getting lvl 3 daemons ( basically datamining a quickhack ), if you do this a lot, you have a gold mine waiting there. When you are max level and you have multiple legendary quickhacks of the same thing, you can basically sell the extras and they sell for a very pretty penny. Discovered this later in my games but after just selling all the extra hacks I made like 4 million Eddies, deffo recommend this, just atleast keep one quickhack of each. (Edited typos)
In Cyberpunk v1, Short Circuit was always one of my most-used quickhacks. My favorite way to play is to run builds that sort of run down the middle-line, a mix of marksmanship using snipers, assaults and pistols, close-range punches with Gorilla Arms, and a smattering of cheap quickhacks, usually Overheat, mid-tier Contagion, and especially Short Circuit, while occasionally mixing in the more expensive Synapse Burnout. Short Circuit was especially useful in helping me take down all the Cyperpsychos nonlethally for Regina. I haven't really been able to play v2, need to get a better computer with higher specs before I'm able, but I look forward to trying out Combohacks like what you showed off once I've got a machine with more comfortable specs.
Reboot Optics got nerfed hard by a single change - It's detectable. Before Phantom Liberty, in conjunction with Optical Camo, you could stealth anywhere without firing a shot or alerting a single enemy. Now I lean hard on Sonic Shock for stealth. Sonic Shock, silenced pistol, and good aim, you can take down a whole base stealthily, though it's not non-lethal.
In my experience uploading Synapse Burnout after Sonic Shock still leaves you stealthed. I think you just need to do enough damage with that one subsequent quickhack that they don't live long enough to even start tracking you. There's an ability from somewhere that makes it to where uploading a control quickhack after a combat quickhack increases the damage of it, so Sonic Shock - > Synapse Burnout - > Ping/Cyberware Malfunction is my go to combo. I cannot get this to repeat with Short Circuit, though
I love taking control of their cameras and using "Self Termination", Contagion, Overheat and Short Circuit. I like being a menace from a nearby rooftop, treating them like their in a slasher movie and the internet is the Slasher.
memory wipe plus overheat takes out pretty much any enemy in steath. of skull enemies use memory wipe, overheat and short circuit. this works all the way to end game and will take all all but boss enemies
The iconic hack blueprints can also be found while hacking at high level. They are expensive to buy and the kid will always have a few to sell, not all of them.
My top hacks are Memory Wipe, Sonic Shock, Reboot Optics and Cyberpsychosis. Special shout out to Cripple movement and Cyberware Malfunction as well for all the Cyberpsycho fights👌
I'm so glad people can see how actually busted Sonic Shock still is for stealth builds. For a low RAM cost, you can basically have a shootout with an enemy and no one would notice anything. Also extra time on detection is always nice for pacifist ninjas.
here's a chain "self-destroy" combo: -get the knife finisher perk, hold a knife (any knife, tier doesn't matter) -cast bait on an enemy, lure him away from his friends -cast tier 4 memo wipe and tier 2 overheat on him, wait for his health to drop low -when prompted, do the knife execution -3*iconic sonic shock + "self-destroy" on the remaining enemies, for only 2+2+2+(24/2-10)=8 ram each p.s. forgo the bait and memo wipe if you don't care about stealth p.p.s. don't use higher tier overheat or the enemy will burn out too fast for you to execute p.p.p.s. don't use iconic "self-destruct", it's bugged to not reduce ram, regular tier 5 is fine
and a "grand blackout" combo: (alternatively, a way to somewhat justify the tier 5 memory wipe) -choose a gonk in a group, cast [3* tier-2 reboot optics + tier-5 memo wipe] -now quickly cast [tier-2 reboot optics + iconic sonic shock] on everyone -blackout for everyone step 1 puts tier 5 memo wipe on the 4th slot of a queue, making it much cheaper and faster to upload. I call this the "initiation", costing 2+2+2+32/2=22 ram step 2 works because tier 5 memo wipe is actually an AOE effective on everyone in the group, so you only need another [reboot optics+sonic shock] to complete the combo. This costs only 2+2=4 ram per enemy, super cheap. with tetratonic deck and ram reallocator, you effectively have about 60 ram at your disposal, so 22 ram for the initiation, and you can tap out about 10 enemies without even entering overclock mode, enough to clear out an entire camp.
Hey, thanks for actually spending the time to do all this homework for me. I JUST started playing the game and it's a steep learning curve, trying to sort everything out. You just saved me a ton of work, obviously. Cheers and consider me "Liked & Subscribed". Your videos are very informative. 👍
while its hard to deny you could basically clear the entire game just by using memory wipe + synapse burnout i actually really enjoy to sometimes just use the cyberdeck as a supplement to my other playstyles to weaken enemies with weapon glitch and cripple movement and then take them out with other means. Tho i have to admit running around late game with a militech canto and lots of cyberware to reduce upload speed its actually really satisfying to use the blackkwall hack in a similar way contagion worked in pre 2.0. since you can upload it multiple times if its not the first hack you upload you can just upload it as 2nd hack on 3-4 enemies and then have it spread to everyone (Side note the only reason why its even possible to upload this many blackwall hacks is because one of the perks in the tech tree resets health items on every kill when you are low health yourself so that gives you almost infinite ram but make sure to leave a little gap between the uploads. I managed to kill myself a few times by having the hack spread in the same moment using up all health before the next health item could reset)
Weapon Glitch is massively underrated for smart weapons netgunning. Usually only real threat are snipers and they're mostly neutralized with this cheap QH. Inbetween run a ping on any of the other enemies, weapon glitch/cripple movement on heavies, pop overclock and with Militech Paraline and almost any SMG you can drop insane amount of enemies in no time
Thing that really changed how I use weapon glitch, stealth runs. If you can't kill an enemy before they're alerted, use weapon glitch and it'll buy you afew extra seconds to take them out before they can alter their friends
I started a streetkid netrunner today, 8hrs in and it is way more fun than the slash and dash run and gun sandevistan build I had going. The technicality of it feels like so good.
Dang, I'm mainly a sandi user but tried netrunning during my last playthrough I would never have guessed the mechanisms were so intricate ! Contagion and overheat were my go to, with some cyberpsychosis sprinkled in sometimes. Might give it another shot now !
I'm surprised to see you ranking both Cyberpsychosis and System Collapse so low. Personally I like to use Cyberspychosis before entering a battle. That will make enemies distracted, and you can snipe them without entering combat with all the stealth damage bonuses. Using it on bosses completely messes up their attacking. System collapse in combination with Overclock is incredible for taking down small groups of enemies stealthily.
Blackwall gateway would be #1 on your list if you knew that uploading sonic shock first to each target allows you to upload multiple instances of blackwall gateway, which will each individually spread to 5 additional people. I run Canto Mk. 6 with only sonic shock equipped, enter overclock, and go “sonic shock > gateway” on as many enemies as I can before the first blackwall hack begins to upload, which is when it stops letting you stack them on other enemies. I have had 5 stars, used this, and completely emptied the streets and escaped in broad daylight in mere seconds. No idea if this is an oversight, but this alone makes it the best for me by light years.
Every netrunner build I've done, I've never bought a single quickhack. Almost every side gig, assault in progress and organised crime mission has at least one access point from which you can get a free QH if you do lvl 3 hack. The QHs scale to your level so eventually you can get all legendary QHs. They nerfed the sale prices though, you could sell your spare QHs for a good chunk too.
My combo is weapon glitch or “stop” movement, followed by 3 stacks of synapse burn. It takes everything out and the first quick hack prevents the enemy from attacking back since they place an animation (of getting stuck or jamming). Love end game netrunning, but that combo gets boring since fights end in seconds, so I usually only do it if I mess up on an experiment build haha
Thanks for this vid. I was debating the blackwall cyberdeck or the gun and I think I'm gunna go with the gun. Cyberware malfunction into short circuit will usually do the trick and its cheap enough to spam on everyone at once. But if I get sick of that playstyle, I gotta go back to get the cyberdeck. Snatchin souls directly from my brain sounds tight.
One thing I definitely agree with is synapse burnout. Didn't do nearly the same amount of research, but it has been my go to for offing those guys that you really really need put down!
I love the memory wipe + system collapse combo when they start tracking you. It makes for an entertaining race against the clock in a playstyle that usually makes things almost too easy. One very bad caveat with Ping is all the perks like faster lock on with smart guns or whatever, don't work on spread, that only works on the enemy you activate the Ping quickhack... Which is kinda bad imo, it should work on all of them. Oh I wasn't aware memory wipe is now the new sonic shock haha, good to know.
If you have a quantum tuner, the value of synapse burnout is greatly reduced. The combination of short circuit and cyberware malfunction is dispatched almost instantly and consumes minimal memory while still killing almost anyone. I also think that the weapon glitch is too underestimated, perhaps due to the fact that the author prefers a stealth playstyle for a netrunner. In open combat, this is the most convenient and fastest way to force the enemy to stop shooting at you.
If anybody would like to access or download screenshots of the side-by-side quickhack graphics from this video then you can find them here btw: www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/1ajccq1/hey_everyone_i_produced_some_screenshots_of_side/
I use Gorrilla Arms to upload the quickhack "concussion" to my enemies
It's untraceable, too. They'll never know what hit them.
For extra slap damage take them to a blacksmith....

I didn’t even know about most of hack combos. One more reason to walkthrough Cyberpunk again as a netrunner.

the sheer power of just standing there and melting gonk brains by looking at them is intoxicating.
i mostly use a katana because guns are not needed and katana blocks bullets.
just have a satara with me because its fun shooting through walls.
you can just drive casually by some gonks, upload contagion + overheat and 3 sec later ...
death and chaos without reducing speed. also car quickhacks are just fun!!
I have a playthru of each playstyle, and the netrunner is still my favorite since launch
Exactly the same for me. So many great combos I had no idea about.
The trick to Blackwall is to use the cut paste perk, and upload it on a netrunner that is trying to hack you. That way, it uploads for free on EVERYONE, killing entire encounters with a silenced shot to get the net runner to try and hack you and a single hack
That's probably the smartest and most badass way to use it. I'm gonna try that on some VDBs.
With the right build you destroy everything.
yeah sam has to fix his list.
its the blackwall bra.
its obviously no.1
@@da_001Adam Smasher
BTW, you can greatly increase the upload speed of Blackwall Gateway (or any other hack) simply by having it second or later in the queue. Having it queued also allows you to upload it to multiple enemies at once provided you have sufficient RAM, as you don't get blocked from using the hack until it has started uploading on at least one enemy. Since the enemy is going to be dead once the hack loads anyway (and it effectively guarantees detection), any 2 RAM hack will do.
Great tips! Thank you
The 'green' version of reboot optics is what I use because of the Embedded Exploit lvl.
@@Tazdingoyahahahahaha yeah, smasher is why we use the monowire and guts. And we spit on his tinfoil face in honor of David.
One thing I found with system collapse is when the trace is triggered by a net runner and you have the counter hack perks, you can put system collapse on the net runner and it will not only stop the trace but spread to all enemies nearby essentially clearing a base which felt incredible as a God tier net runner

It is awesome! I couldn't justifiably rank it too high because of how much of a faff it is to get and how it is basically locked as one very specific method of use. But like I say, it is utterly brilliant!
I will never be tired of contemplating scavs being blackwalled.
Unoptimised, but still the #1 quickhack in my heart.
In cyberpunk v1 synapse burnout would LITERALLY set the target's brain on fire. Evidence? The fucking fire that would shoot out of their eyes and mouth!

You’re basically T-Bugging enemies left and right
@@SamBram imo "Hard to get" should not really factor into ranking.
Exactly right, net running is something I'm still exploring after many playthroughs. While sandi and berserk are fun but one-sided.
Netsnipers should also be aware that Sonic Shock causes enemies to go into a very predictable stun animation wherein their heads perk up.
@@EricMKEI'm surprised weapon glitch got so low
Im guessing self destroy is also known as suicide?
yup, RUclips blanket ban in certain words, not even allowing use with context is just unacceptable and more akin to censorship, which I detest to no end.
For roleplay purposes, cyberpsychosis is absolutely the most evil thing you could do & realistically netwatch's #1 priority should be to destroy every existing copy along with the means of production. The concept of cyberpsychosis being weaponized on someone's deck is absolute terror incarnate.
@@gloamgirl Then again its set in America sooo weaponising that is definitely something they would do! 😆
Your dedication to making these videos is insane. You set a gold standard for video game youtubers. Thank you very much!
4:00 with weapon glitch, I have found if an enemy is using an iconic weapon, using weapon glitch can get them to drop it. Then after defeating them you can loot the dropped one and one off the body.
So, one for you and one for the wall.
Iconic Quickhacks can be obtained from access points once your level is high enough, you dont need the dogtown kid
But, at dogtown its easier and you can choose and it gaurenteed, getting eddies isn't hard anyway, just do lots of assaults and sell the weapon, also gigs, i guess
Duplication alsp gets you cash quick
Yaaaaeee
I just used Detonate Grenade in the Don't Fear the Reaper ending on Very Hard difficulty, and it took Smasher all the way down to 50% health at the beginning of the fight. So as of version 2.11, it appears to be useful in one very specific moment.
One thing about reboot optics is that it can completely take out the majority of cyber psychos, apart from those in mech suits and the desert sniper. I didn't think it would work but you can simply reboot optics and walk up to them to choke them out. It's almost hilarious how easy it is and how much it removes from the encounters.
I just started my first ever netrunner build like a day or two ago, so this video is an absolute godsend.

Detonate Grenade is most certainly bugged, I remember being able to wipe entire enemy groups just using it
Depends which grenade the npc has. When you scan them you can see which type they have. Many seem to hold EMP and they are a stun so low damage. It might vary per gang type.
@@allanspraggon7207 yeah no shit I wasnt wipping out when I detonated a blind grenade...
This. In many situations, you can Ping, tag every enemy, then swap out Ping for a different Quickhack.
iconic cyberware malfunction + iconic short circuit is my go to combo when not in overclock mode.
when in overclock mode, iconic cyberware malfunction + system collapse will drop anything dead that's not a boss.
In OC You can simply synapse burnout everyone around you for the same effect and +3s extend on OC mode ;)
Other netrunners: I will use all my quickhacks to their fullest and make the most of them!
Me: Not gonna sugarcoat it
*Overclock + Synapse burnout*
its times like that that make me wish overclock duration wasn't locked behind one quickhack there are so many other combinations that make netrunning fun with overclock sadly they dont help boost the duration of overclock.
What the hell is burn out?
@@roachmonk ... Synapse Burnout? The hack he talked about and has been in the game since 1.0? Homie, you feeling OK?
Makes it, in essence, a lot like asking them to "please bring back that one time with that one exploit I loved..."
Go ahead, I am certain many amateur hackers online are ready to prove their leet skillz... hack something, without being traced. Without leaving a huge trail *right to you.*
Of *course* lowering your trace is a high end ability, not a low end one.
The only reason someone can argue about it is that just like Quantum Tuner, it is difficult to optimize but trust me, upload Blackwall on one enemy and right before it hits, activate Overclock and watch people scream in front of your eyes, if there are some tankier enemies work on them with other quick hacks.
this. its better to k.i.s.s. with mods.blackwall gateway is fuss free

Ive used Weapon Glitch on an NPC using an iconic - they drop the iconic, then produce a 2nd copy of the iconic and continue shooting at me.
After they are down, I can loot the iconic they dropped AND the same iconic that is meant to be their loot on their corpse.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this whole series, but I'm even more excited that we're finally getting into netrunning!
Definitely the most complicated playstyle but possibly the most rewarding if you're into chaining combos. Crazy that you can go pretty much the whole game without touching it
Watching this it is now clear to me that I have absolutely no idea what I am doing with my build! 🤣
I sometimes think youtubers complicate stuff just for the sake of it. I literally walked through my game using Sonic shock > Overheat or synapse burnout when in ocerclock to extend duration. Everything drops like flies

I'd been working with a bunch of ultimate quickhacks thinking that they must be some of the best and now I'm realizing that I could be doing far more for much less.
yeah I'm at the end of the video and realizing just how much more I could be doing by thinking a little more about what my quickhacks can really do
Thanks for this.
The best cyberpunk channel by far!
Once you reach max level, iconic quickhacks also drop from hacking random terminals.
That's fair. I did the same to make this video haha
Just got black wall gateway about an hour ago, and I LOVE IT!!!
I’m not sure why people don’t use tech guns with net running. Ping and you can clearly see everyone and shot them through walls
I've been using that and swapping my chimera mod (from the dlc) between a shotgun and sniper. It's sweet
Great vid as always!
Sam Bram, always super impressed by your vids. You've turned cyberpunk inside out regards details and depth and new ways to play. Nice work Choom 😎
I craft legendary detonate grenade quickhacks to sell them for a nice chunk in the endgame
@@ArmitageShanksuk ahh thats quite smart tho
Great video. Helped me a lot. You explain a lot of combos and synergies.
Excited for the builds you’re going to release!
Blackwall Gateway makes lone bosses and Cyberpsychos a cakewalk as it takes out a chunk of their hp for almost half the cost of _self destroy_
I love taking control of their cameras and using "Self Termination", Contagion, Overheat and Short Circuit. I like being a menace from a nearby rooftop, treating them like their in a slasher movie and the internet is the Slasher.
Great video about one of the deepest RPGs of all time. I'm a 100+ hours into it and still feel like I'm just scratching the surface.
memory wipe plus overheat takes out pretty much any enemy in steath. of skull enemies use memory wipe, overheat and short circuit. this works all the way to end game and will take all all but boss enemies
honey wake up Sam Bram uploaded another Cyberpunk 2077 video
thanks for the awesome content as always 😎
The iconic hack blueprints can also be found while hacking at high level. They are expensive to buy and the kid will always have a few to sell, not all of them.
My top hacks are Memory Wipe, Sonic Shock, Reboot Optics and Cyberpsychosis. Special shout out to Cripple movement and Cyberware Malfunction as well for all the Cyberpsycho fights👌
Iconic Sonic Shock, Iconic Cyberware Malfunction, T4 or Iconic Contagion, Iconic Cripple Movement slotted on a Monowire, Iconic Memory Wipe
I wait for This all wekend
Finally! I am glad you no longer waited for the CDPR to comment on the Sonic Shock situation 🎉
I'm so glad people can see how actually busted Sonic Shock still is for stealth builds. For a low RAM cost, you can basically have a shootout with an enemy and no one would notice anything. Also extra time on detection is always nice for pacifist ninjas.
here's a chain "self-destroy" combo:
-get the knife finisher perk, hold a knife (any knife, tier doesn't matter)
-cast bait on an enemy, lure him away from his friends
-cast tier 4 memo wipe and tier 2 overheat on him, wait for his health to drop low
-when prompted, do the knife execution
-3*iconic sonic shock + "self-destroy" on the remaining enemies, for only 2+2+2+(24/2-10)=8 ram each
p.s. forgo the bait and memo wipe if you don't care about stealth
p.p.s. don't use higher tier overheat or the enemy will burn out too fast for you to execute
p.p.p.s. don't use iconic "self-destruct", it's bugged to not reduce ram, regular tier 5 is fine
and a "grand blackout" combo:
(alternatively, a way to somewhat justify the tier 5 memory wipe)
-choose a gonk in a group, cast [3* tier-2 reboot optics + tier-5 memo wipe]
-now quickly cast [tier-2 reboot optics + iconic sonic shock] on everyone
-blackout for everyone
step 1 puts tier 5 memo wipe on the 4th slot of a queue, making it much cheaper and faster to upload. I call this the "initiation", costing 2+2+2+32/2=22 ram
step 2 works because tier 5 memo wipe is actually an AOE effective on everyone in the group, so you only need another [reboot optics+sonic shock] to complete the combo.
Have a like before I've even watched. I've been waiting on this one.
while its hard to deny you could basically clear the entire game just by using memory wipe + synapse burnout i actually really enjoy to sometimes just use the cyberdeck as a supplement to my other playstyles to weaken enemies with weapon glitch and cripple movement and then take them out with other means.
Tho i have to admit running around late game with a militech canto and lots of cyberware to reduce upload speed its actually really satisfying to use the blackkwall hack in a similar way contagion worked in pre 2.0. since you can upload it multiple times if its not the first hack you upload you can just upload it as 2nd hack on 3-4 enemies and then have it spread to everyone
(Side note the only reason why its even possible to upload this many blackwall hacks is because one of the perks in the tech tree resets health items on every kill when you are low health yourself so that gives you almost infinite ram but make sure to leave a little gap between the uploads.
Dang, I'm mainly a sandi user but tried netrunning during my last playthrough
I would never have guessed the mechanisms were so intricate !
No idea if this is an oversight, but this alone makes it the best for me by light years.
yep the blackwall AI dominates all puny human minds. proven by sam missing this. good vid tho
I thought I knew almost everything there is to quickhacking.. boy, was I wrong. Awesome video.
Awesome. Really excited for the other cyberdeck vid aswell!
I just wanted to let people know cripple movement lets you walk behind an enemy and grab them so you can just essily kill skull enemies
One thing I definitely agree with is synapse burnout. Didn't do nearly the same amount of research, but it has been my go to for offing those guys that you really really need put down!
this is awesome. all quick hack guides I see are for end game and never for the newer players
Really good video.
