Thank you for the video, I started a new playthrough a few days ago using the plague doctor build and I’m loving it but I needed gun ideas, I’ve just been using skippy, divided, and yinglong but it’s very fun
Ricochet does work extremely well against enemies with sandevistan. enemies seem to have a hard time dodging ricochet shots. nice to have when going up against maxtac
Im all for more smart guns testing and builds. If possible could you also compare smart rifles to smart pistols as they all come with their own good perks. I know people find Yinglong a pinnacle gun but I feel like with all the COOL perks (+40% headshot dmg, no dmg falloff + movement speed), smart pistols are pumping out some serious numbers. And as always, great video Sam.
One of my favorite things with power weapons is that the explosive ones work with pyrpmania, it's one of the primary motivations for using bald eagle in my build
Nice video mate. I have seen your every video on the channel, you're literally the best Cyberpunk RUclipsr there is. I also wanted to give you an idea of video, can you please make a video ranking every gun(or a top 10 maybe) in general? Not specific to any build. I know it sounds weird as you need to focus on a build to bring the best out of a gun,but there are exceptions like Ba xing chong(just put a tygerclaws tattoo) or Hercules 3AX(has a smart targetting build in it). It would be a intersting video, and till now you haven't done anything like that. And, sometimes casual people just wanted to play the game without focusing on a particular sandevistan or netrunner build, just experiencing the guns. And when they like the guns, then they focus on how to improve them, and then go for a specific build. I think CDPR too understood it, that's why we have Chrome Compressor. It doesn't offer anything specific,so people can be whatever they want to be.
I completely agree mate! I was thinking along the lines of dropping a top 10 overall weapons in the game. Having carefully reviewed them all now I think I can assess pretty fairly which ones it'll be. Though it will be a task to narrow it down
@@SamBram That's great news buddy. The logic with which you describe positioning every gun is rare to find these day,and I(and friend on mine whom recommended your videos) sometimes check certain guns after we saw you evaluating them, and even if you disagree with you initially, later we really end up agreeing with you after testing personally(except just once,we didn't agree with you on Pozhar x-MOD2 ,it should be lowered and ba xing Chong should be higher,in our humble opinion). Congratulations in advance. God bless you
My first playthrough occurring right now, I'm mainly using power weapons for that old school feel. Shotgun, sniper and throwing knives, mantis arms with shock and a high mobility stealth build.
So far, for my first/current play of Cyberpunk, I am playing as a stealthy net runner and sniper. Silenced ranged power weapons (i.e. Overwatch and Her Majesty) are useful to me for sneaking around. But in open fights and for powerful enemies/bosses, I enjoy tech weapons like Widowmaker and Breakthrough-along with matching tech weapon perks-for that extra punch. Quickhacks with Overclock, plus the “Chain Lightning” perk & Cellular Adapter cyberware for tech weapons, really helps in dispatching crowds of enemies or in boss fights.
There is a one big problem for tech/smart guns. If you want to reach full potential you gotta pick general perks for your weapon type and special smart/tech perks. And with classic power guns you can build your character more hybrid playstyle.
@1:10 What "Preview of estimated damage" I don't see anything on the ui that tells me the estimated damage of the shot I have lined up. Where is this wonderful thing of which you speak?
Something not mentioned here, but he has in much earlier videos from 1.6 ish: Ricochet smashes any enemy with a sandevistan on. If they're giving you problems, keep one spec'd out for it on hand.
If I had to be a reviewer for the Rostovic Db-2 satara, my final thoughts on it would be that it "mixes the old and reliable with the new and satisfying", by 2077 the double barrel shotgun would've now been over two hundred years old, so naturally it's gonna be generally obsolete(and especially won't put holes in smashers armor) so what do you do to fix that? Make it fire spikes and turn it into a railgun, with 14 projectiles(which I assume are tungsten) each shell and the guaranteed fact that the only thing will jam your weapon is a netrunner, you surely got a powerhouse that even smasher would respect
Also worth adding that tech weapons pair really badly with a sandy because of the charge time, much to my own frustration as tech weapons and the sandy are my favourite things!
My favorite build so far is a netgunner using a tech shotgun with kneel. Specd into all healing perks makes me unkillable as long as I keep killing. Literally unkillable against a single opponent if I just stand there. I call it the meltdown runner
Figured i'd mention that you can get +90-110% ricochet damage with muzzle + hand implant + secondary implant stats (you should easily get +2.5% bonus ricochet damage per implant, there's 20 implants so thats +50% damage. Add +55% from hand implant and muzzle and thats 105%.) on top of that, ricochets usually aims for the Torso which means the Pistol "Cheetah" works really well with ricochet. So if you go ALL IN on ricochet, you'll have +105%~ damage increase + whatever Cheetah does on Torso hits. That doesn't eliminate the annoyance of aiming, but hey, i had fun playing as a pure ricochet build if anyone wants to do it. The key is to get chipware connoisseur, license to chrome, lucky day and get cyberware at early levels and upgrade them to get bonus to ricochet damage stat (as high as you can get it)
Im not a youtube or streamer, :D It's just a combat gunslinger using ricochets with +bonus ricochet stat modifiers on 20 implants, ricochet items, the necessary perks and leveling the right skills (engineering boosts stat modifiers by 30% at skill 50). Add in cheetah (+122.5% damage to torso hits which is where ricochets hits) and it works rather well. 20 cool and 15-20 tech is the basics, how you build the ricochet build after that is up to the player. I went for Air kerenzikov (air dashes 20 reflexes), 4 int for vehicle\covert\control hacks and 15 body for adrenaline rush. As such my build was a high movement, fast paced gunslinger build. But there's plenty of variations you can do.
@@zhiphius Yeah but I already used most of my cyber wear on things that don't priotize Richochet Damage. So it would have been mad expensive to reset it.
@@maskedman5657 Ah, nothing we can do then. Half of the damage come from muzzle + hand implant, the rest from bonus ricochet damage stat modifier (not counting cheetah which works regardless as long as its on torso). But yea, rolling for ricochet stat is expensive and paininducing. It requires work and patience. (i use a mod to eliminate the pain while having to upgrade. But not everyone's on a PC). Anyways have a nice day sir :)
I put wallpuncher and spinetickler on the Achilles xmod2, the thing is just absolutely bonkers and it's a shame they don't let us do that with Widowmaker
Tech is my favorite gun type, it's extremely rewarding, specially with bolt. Both aim and charge timing are factors, but when you use it properly you deal MASSIVE damage
My first play through was with power assault rifles with a relex build which was fun but a bit easy near end game. Now trying tech weapons using snipers and pistols.
how about list of "farming places" to gain lots of xp and fun fights and maybe nice rewards. I found one on barghest tunnel. many enemies with one boss, and that tunnels leads directly to paciffica beach, outside dogtown
I mean, dont get me wrong. Love all these vids, watched them all, will continue to watch them, but quite franky just get Problem Solver with both the recoil hand cyberwares and a Satara with Wall Puncher for when your ammo inevitable runs out and you're set to murder everything in no time, done and done.
Power all the rje way Few things are as satisfying to me as hitting a silenced headshot from outside detection range with Panam's iconic rifle, or clearing a room in seconds with six well aimed Overture headshots
Smart Weapon: For Netrunner only Tech Weapon: For those who love to kill enemy behind walls/kill those dodge bastard/1 shot for high damage Power Weapon: For none of the above
I never used smart weaponsnmuch in my first couple play throughs. They just seemed like they did so little damage and ate up so much ammmo. But when you decide to really dedicate yourself to them they are cool. They dont do as much damage but if you take the time to lock on and you get yourself a good smart gun it is pretty impressive, even witjout a netrunner build
Bruh the seraph is slept on. I like it better than her majesty for my build. Faster follow up shots, explosive bullets, can be silenced, can get double kills, the only gun I enjoy more if I’m not stealthed is Johnny’s gun
I use them all, but tech by far does the most damage and that's just at base. Once you get bolt shot, chain lightning and max out the engineer skill, you're melting crowds without effort. Only stuff like ba xing chong and the poison smart ars come close to the crowd dropping potential. In fact they had me bump up the difficulty because combat just became far too easy.
I loved tech weapons more before 2.0, im not that hyped on the emi effect when released early. The whole tech weapons stick always felt to me to aim for the perk that allows to hold your fire and use tech guns in a "predatory" style, releasung your boosted fire when and where you wanted. That 2.0 mechanic brings back "you being the lackay of your gun" and not the other way around.
In lore? Tech guns are by far the most superior and it’s not even remotely close, tech guns (most of them) are meant for those who struggle with aim due to their vastly slower projectile speed, and power weapons are the most common, but fairly ineffective against anyone with even level 1 subdermal armor, especially by 2077.
for the life of me I just don’t find smart weapons fun at all. It’s definitely interesting and cool in its own way, but it’s hard to drop blades and suppressed weapons. Nonetheless, great video as usual!
I personally find all of the smart weapons so WEAK, the one exception being the Bai Xing Chong. Even the shotguns that spray out a mass of shells still don't hit very hard. The Tech weapons, on the other hand, are pure death incarnate. Satara and Nekomata for the win, unless you're being hard forced into stealth.
My personal favourite is power weapons but I do sometimes switch depending on the situation. Power weapons are very traditional and have the most options to using them. I mainly stick to pistols revolvers and shotguns. The only tech weapons I use tend to be shotguns. Mainly the satara and its iconic variant. Smart weapons get the least amount of use from me. I like them but they’re kinda weak and can’t be silenced. I use smart pistols if I am going to use them but it depends on the build and most of my builds don’t have smart weapons on them.
There is something so cyberpunk about the smart weapons even if they are some of the weakest early on. By the way Cyberpunk 2077 is easily a top 3 game of the generation and one of the greatest of all time
I adore Reeds pariah, thought im never betraying him so im just headcanoning that he gave it to me after talking to me at the basketball court after killing So Mi (yes I just used console commands)
hey sam i have one question. at 0:50 i see you have 2 golden mods, but i thought you said in another video that you can only choose 1 (out of 4 excisting) golden mods. How did you manage to have 2 golden mods? i only have 1 golden mod and played quite some hours in the game. and why you pick satara over order (iconic version). or is there an iconic satara too?
I struggle so hard with tech weapons. I know people pull off bolt shot but i can't get it to work. Either i am letting go too early or it is fully charged and too late. Cant seem to find that sweet spot.
And I'm not talking about the one you find in the pond. You have to use the scuba soup and search on the water for very, very long time before you find it. 😮
So many games have guns. So in Cyberpunk I prefer to do what they don't, hacking + smart weapons or Sandevistan with katana. Both playstyles one can pull off with below 40 fps frame rate introduced with all the shiny ray tracing effects 😋
Netrunner doesn't even need gun just use cool and throw knifes or monowire quick hack between ram charges, It is better to craft chimera power or tech mod even if your net runner build because only 1 iconic smart weapon (pistol) with mod slot support exist in game only accessible if you have phantom liberty dlc installed.
My favorite has to be power weapons. I really don't enjoy the charge up on tech weapons and smart weapons usually don't fit my build(I am however going to use them for my next playthrough)
I am playing Phantom liberty. Reed and Myers left and waiting two days reed come back. Mr. Hand stopped to give mission after fifth. When will he start to call again?
Throwing knives are definitely the best sniper rifles in the game

Thank you for the video, I started a new playthrough a few days ago using the plague doctor build and I’m loving it but I needed gun ideas, I’ve just been using skippy, divided, and yinglong but it’s very fun
amazing content as always
Ricochet does work extremely well against enemies with sandevistan. enemies seem to have a hard time dodging ricochet shots. nice to have when going up against maxtac
Your videos are awesome. Thanks so much for doing this
The yinglong is my absolute favorite smart weapon in the game. So satisfying with the electrical damage it can do.
You can just use spinetickler on tech weapons, tho you can only access it in the DLC
It's Sam O'Clock Bram! I mean time 🎉
Im all for more smart guns testing and builds.
Genjiroh and Ashura with the paraline deck are ridiculously effective.
@@JekaSkuf yes Ashura is a powerhouse with sniper perks. I just think pistols are not as flashy so a lot of people overlook them
One of my favorite things with power weapons is that the explosive ones work with pyrpmania, it's one of the primary motivations for using bald eagle in my build
So,a overall best guns from you is everything could we ask of you for now,it will be great to see your rankings. From hitler reacting to Coronavirus to almost having 100k subs, you have really came a long way mate. Congratulations in advance. God bless you
It’s nice that each class of weapons fills its own niche now instead of one just objectively being better than the other two.
You ever figure that out? I would like to know to.
@@wolfhunter98cool perk
Something not mentioned here, but he has in much earlier videos from 1.6 ish:
Ricochet smashes any enemy with a sandevistan on. If they're giving you problems, keep one spec'd out for it on hand.
@besabaftw it got nerfed
@@maskedman5657 it's not as broken as before, but it still eats enemy sandevistans for breakfast
@@besabaftw It's so weak now that I just use weapon glitch or cripple movement
I know we have the projectile launch system and grenades but I wish there were more explosives, like straight up grenade and rocket launchers
I've put Smasher down with only Sovereign, which is basically a iconic Rostovic DB4 Igla. DB2 Satara is a beast too.
The prototype in an overclock build with the contagion quick hack is so fun.
Boltshots have -50% PENALTY for penetrating cover, so u do more dmg when doing it since the dmg penalty is halfed ^_~
@naomy1701 they so hard to time tho
I’m excited for this one
I hope that Cyberpunk 2 will come out as soon as possible just to have more of your videos ❤
The key is to get chipware connoisseur, license to chrome, lucky day and get cyberware at early levels and upgrade them to get bonus to ricochet damage stat (as high as you can get it)
@zhiphius Yeah most of my implants aren't ricochet based.
You got any footage on your Ricochet Build? You should post some
Im not a youtube or streamer, :D
It's just a combat gunslinger using ricochets with +bonus ricochet stat modifiers on 20 implants, ricochet items, the necessary perks and leveling the right skills (engineering boosts stat modifiers by 30% at skill 50).
@@zhiphius This build doesn't seem as strong when you compare it to the smart SMG builds
I put wallpuncher and spinetickler on the Achilles xmod2, the thing is just absolutely bonkers and it's a shame they don't let us do that with Widowmaker
I've always liked tech weapons, especially the widowmaker and lizzie/comrade's hammer, coupled with sandevistan it makes the game so trivial ^^
Stealth and Blades FTW
Power all the rje way
Few things are as satisfying to me as hitting a silenced headshot from outside detection range with Panam's iconic rifle, or clearing a room in seconds with six well aimed Overture headshots
Smart Weapon: For Netrunner only
Tech Weapon: For those who love to kill enemy behind walls/kill those dodge bastard/1 shot for high damage
Power Weapon: For none of the above
Awesome vid😅
You should always play on very hard
10:50 this dude built like the terminator
Smart guns are made for people who don't like guns.
I like to use them for run and gun when dashing and double jumping in platforms. You dont have to aim so you focus on the parkour which is fun
@@miguelordonez3323 I go for the "Make things I don't like dead very quickly" approach :)
@@KiljaedenasIf you think the Smart weapons are weak then you aren't using them correctly
Jackie's gun is great for stealth as well
There is something so cyberpunk about the smart weapons even if they are some of the weakest early on. By the way Cyberpunk 2077 is easily a top 3 game of the generation and one of the greatest of all time
was just watching 1.6 version of this the other day wondering when will you make a 2.0 version lmao
1month old post with no reply. No wonder this channel is dead
@@ckipoo or maybe he gets thousands of comments and can't get to all of them lmao plus how is this channel dead when he gets very old views.
I loved the old ricochet lmao with kangou(spelling?) and tier 5 muzzle it did more damage with ricochet than without
I struggle so hard with tech weapons. I know people pull off bolt shot but i can't get it to work. Either i am letting go too early or it is fully charged and too late. Cant seem to find that sweet spot.
And I'm not talking about the one you find in the pond. You have to use the scuba soup and search on the water for very, very long time before you find it.
😮
As a legally blind person I gotta say it’s smart guns for me, they better be in the next game
I think the best weapon type is the one that the enemy uses to shoot their allies with.
I do like Death and Taxes though. It's special.
6:45 Doesn't bolt count as fully charged?
I'd really love a video for your "plague-spreader" build.
So many games have guns. So in Cyberpunk I prefer to do what they don't, hacking + smart weapons or Sandevistan with katana. Both playstyles one can pull off with below 40 fps frame rate introduced with all the shiny ray tracing effects 😋
Smart weapons. I can literally drink my bloody mary while shooting at the same time.
I found lock boxes under the water when I opened them. The weapons are more devastating than anything that you're showing
In all my playthroughs, I've always preferred power weapons. The satisfaction of lining up a perfect headshot is incomparable....
Even on netrunners, I'm always torn between Tech and Smart. Do I want the synergy with netrunning overall? Or do I want the synergy with Ping?
One video idea I had while watching this was best pistols for vehicle combat
My favorite has to be power weapons. I really don't enjoy the charge up on tech weapons and smart weapons usually don't fit my build(I am however going to use them for my next playthrough)
After 2.0, smart weapons now definitely sit in their own little bubble, and they are more niche to use and are worthy of their own ranking video.
the auto reload of dual or triple smg's and the reduced recoil and reload speed would be very beneficial to Smart Guns SMGs
I am playing Phantom liberty. Reed and Myers left and waiting two days reed come back. Mr. Hand stopped to give mission after fifth. When will he start to call again?
I've never seen the preview of damage show up from "killer instinct", is it bugged? Where am I supposed to be looking for this info?
Imagine if for cyberpunk Orion they make this gimmick with the melee weapons like having a techno blade or smash through walls.
