Hi Karen, just discovered you yesterday. I don't think I would do a puzzle that changes color but I do enjoy a series of puzzles called "World's Smallest 1000 Piece Puzzle" Finished dimensions are
16.54" X 11.7" with 1000 pieces. I have to use tweezers to pick up the pieces!! The designs are illustrations by Bonnie White (style similar to Charles Wysocki - highly detailed landscapes) These take a little longer, maybe not for you, but it's because the pieces are so tiny. I'm getting ready to do my third one. Glad I found your site!

    Much appreciated 🙂🐿🧩
P.s if one was so inclined, turning one or two of these puzzle pieces into a badge/button would be pretty cool and a definite conversation starter (for sure).
I just don’t think that I could bring myself to do it to this puzzle, to any puzzle really.
There’s something about a puzzle staying whole. It’s a similar feeling that I have about books 📚. I can’t deface books.
I get really uncomfortable when I see TV craft shows using old hardback books to make lamps or other decorative items involving hot glue. Don’t get me wrong, I love the effects created by folding and gluing book pages etc, but I also find it kind of distressing to witness -
like I said it’s the same feelings with puzzles.
    I’m very conflicted 😐🐿.
Thanks again for sharing your videos with me.

The strangest thing is that RUclips recommended your channel about a week after I had finished and then I found this video. The directionality of the pattern was definitely so important in the completion. Glad you also had as much fun as I did!!

I didn't really understand why you wouldn't have organized the pieces by colors...I get that they change between two colors, but for example, the blue that changes to pink go together, the blue that change to green go together, etc. So why couldn't you have organized them that way? This would be a really fun puzzle to do, but too bad it's so pricey. It was fun to see you do it though. :)

I've done a puzzle like this. It was much cheaper. I bought a box of 10 avengers puzzle for my grade 1 students, and one was a change image puzzle. Only 100 pieces though. It intrigued me so I put it together and I was surprised by just how difficult it was! It took me a couple of hours. The picture kept changing, though at least there were characters I could sort of use to guide me. Though one moment I was looking at hulk's eye and the next was a shield! I ended up finding the same trick you did about lining up the horizontal bars.

I bought this one in the fall but haven't assembled it yet. I bought it directly from Lamington Drive as they were having a sale and I got a rather magical deal. I subscribe to their email list and they occasionally have sales and giveaways. The shipping from Australia was also much quicker than I anticipated.

I just bought a lenticular puzzle on eBay and can't wait to do it ! It's a 500 piece version of the 1000 piece puzzle I already have, but all 3D-ey and stuff...

I would probably have to be able to use magic to not lose my sanity trying to put this together. 😂
Though I am pretty sure the result would be very worth it!

I'm a complete beginner at puzzles. I only bought this to have as 'artwork' in my house. It arrived 2 days ago, and I'm still trying to sort the pieces into colour groups... Here's hoping I finish it this year!

OMG this puzzle is the devil! 4 of us couldn't do more then the edge and a tiny area by the edge in like, 3 hrs. And my dad is a really good puzzler.
Then my sister and her husband where able to finish it after 10 days.

Hi Karen, I want you to know that I enjoy your videos very much. I want to share my thoughts about the puzzle I'm working on. I recently purchased a 1000 piece puzzle, Treasure Hunt Bookshelf by SunsOut, oh boy I really hate it! the cardboard is flimsy, lots of dust, the pieces are not shiny, and the most annoying thing, the pieces don't lock! it's almost impossible to move sections without the pieces falling all over! One thing I like is that the pieces are random shape. That's it!

When sorting, perhaps you could view them all at the same angle (sane spot on your table) to be consistent?

It may be magic for some, but if anyone bought me this puzzle, I think I would give up jigsaws for ever!! I got frustrated just watching this video! I tend to do a 1000 piece puzzle in around the time it took you to do this one! I can't even contemplate his long this would take me. It is beautiful though 😊

I understand you, this Sunday I made a lenticular puzzle of 100 pieces of Star Wars.
Each piece out of place was a lot of extra time, because of the hard plastic.
I would love to do that magic gradient puzzle.

I would love to do this puzzle! The way I would do this puzzle would be to sort the colors based on both colors that they switch between. It would narrow down where the piece went a ton.
