  • Hit longer drives by using the correct tee height for you! How how to tee the golf ball? Everyone wants to hit longer drives off the tee, leading to shorter clubs into the green, lower scores and basically bragging rights from your friends. But I see so many golfers who tee the ball at the wrong height and its costs them not only distance but also accuracy. To make sure we hit the three main points to good long straight drives, its mega important we use the correct tee height. Lets do it, and lets do it now!

I changed from pink to orange this summer and as a single figure handicap golfer for over 25 years I'm smashing the orange tee's around 30 yards further. 🙃 absolutely amazing 👏 😍 ❤ 🙌

Pro V1x practice balls. Yes indeed. Our range balls were previously used by Fred Flintstone. I Notice most 460 drivers work best higher on the face so a higher tee is needed.

Tried this on Sunday. 18HC, driver my nemesis for 30 years lol, but I live with it. Anyway after using pink tee for last 5 years I bought a pack of orange ones for a quid. OMG What a difference it's not gone that much further but it's gone alot straighter. Of to Wales over the weekend playing Conwy, Nyten and Royal st David's and it's going to be orange tee for me. Great vid and great channel. 👍👍👍

I used the white tees for years because I felt more in control. Getting older and looking for lost distance I tried hitting up with the pink ones but felt out of control ! Knowing I had to persevere I gave the orange ones a go but hit some great shots along with some horrors lol anyway getting to my point after a few rounds with the orange ones I went back to the pink ones and all the fear dropped away. Pinks are perfect now and I’m gaining distance gradually!

Playing off winter mats has forced me into castle tees. My balance is super-bad and I have recently had to stand more upright to stop me going on my toes (this was causing me to go over the top). Since standing more upright however, my trajectory has changed and I now hit the ball much higher (too high). To counter this I have dropped my club to 9.4 (will probably go to 9) and now using the white tees as I was also hitting off the top of the club. I have lost around 20 yards in length but I'm now much straighter and consistent and still hitting 260-270 yard drives. In fact I broke 80 for the first time ever on NYE and I play off 18! Super pleased you did a video on this James, many thanks. A few people were doubting my tee choice because it's not the industry norm.

Used an orange tee yesterday just because I found one in the first tee and had watched your video. Usually had used the shorter white tee. Difference was amazing. Didn’t sky one which was my fear. Didn’t hover the club as I struggle with that. Going to blow £2.50 on s full set of orange tees now. 😃😃

🤔 Makes sense with the Tee heights James but with me when I tee it up higher I end up skying the ball...Got my Skytrak coming Friday 😁 so this is definitely something I’m going to work on⛳️...Thanks for the great video!

Great video, I've stopped using the 3 1/4 tee due to too many pop flys.

Hi James great information. Just shows a £1.50 piece of kit can help improve your drive no matter how expensive or full of technology your driver is. Tee Hight and as you have said before the ball you use are all have a real impact on your game.

I find the the Pink Tee works best for my swing, launch/spin/trajectory are optimised. When I try to use the Orange Tee I tend to get a balloon ball that fades excessively.

New duffer here, I just recently moved from a Taylormade R7 9.5deg (it was cheap and got me into golf!) to a Mizuno ST180 High Loft. With the R7 I was using a 3 1/4in tee as hig as I could get it, and STILL getting low-ish ball flights. Now with the Mizuno and a revised swing to counteract my slice I have had to lower the tee quite a bit. Now using "standard" 2 1/2in tees and getting straighter, higher ball flights even though I"m tee'd down quite a bit.

Fabulous Video James.....I don't think many "Golf-Tubers" going around have even remotely touched on this (Tee height), let alone have tested. Very interesting. Excellent & informative mate. Thanks.
