You are a life saver! Who would have known about a little button?! I found mine right after watching you. Worked like a charm for the Winegard 360. Thanks!
my camper came with a boosted antenna that picks up channels everywhere I have been. Even some fairly remote sites in Utah and New Mexico. When I am near a major city I can pick up over 100 channels. Sometimes I do need to rotate the antenna to get better reception.
Your F450 Looks Absolutely Amazing . It Really Stands Out. Especially With The 19.5 Alcoa Wheels and Those Beautiful Ruby Red Ranch Hand Bumpers. Your Truck Is Totally Awesome.
Looks like a nice product. I think I like that it doesn't mount to the roof of the RV. I bought two brand new RVs in my life and both of them, the TV antenna which I honestly never use has leaked LOL. thanks for the video.
Hmm...interesting product. I have not had an issue with getting signal with my built in antenna as of yet. I use an app on my phone called TV Towers which tells me which direction the towers are and I turn my roof mount antenna to the right direction and seems to have been working so far. Seems it may be a bit flimsy if the wind blows to hard, unless there is a way to tie it down.
Get a 1/2" steel plate and place a piece of rubber or cloth on the bottom of the steel plate and mount the magnetic part of the antenna, place it on top of your camper.that way the wind won't blow it over.
Get yourself down to the Dollar store and get what I call a pigtail. It's just a little powerbar. 3 sockets and only a foot of cord. Greatest damn things for tight spaces and wall warts. Buy a few and have them handy. They're great for plugging many devices into a ups.
I've not even really considered a HDTV antenna for our RV thinking we'd never get signal at a campground. I'd only thought about satellite as we have DirecTV at home. And spending $600 or more for a satellite antenna when we only go out now and then isn't a great investment in my opinion. This antenna is actually very affordable considering what you get. Especially if the park you are at has sub-par WiFi and you're not able to stream videos or movies, this would be a great way to be able to watch all kinds of programs if the weather is keeping you inside. Thanks for this awesome video!
I have had fairly good luck with my King antenna on my Lance camper. It doesn't get signal out in the middle of the desert canyons, but I wouldn't expect it to.
Good video,my brother in law has a new toy hauler and it has the king low pro model and it is junk,i up graded to the wineguard wing man and it is awesome,it picks up more channels then the old one did.ill tell him about the omini model, see ya
It looks like a great product. My concern is how well it handled windy conditions. I have found these flimsy tripods blow over easily. My good camera tripods have a weight hook on them to place weight. (I use water bags.)
You share such great videos that really connect with the same thing so many of us have in mind. I agree those leaf antenna are useless. After we move I'm going to go back to a ridged antenna. Tried and true.
The power adapter is likely to inject power to allow it to amplify the signal. Had you put the power inject at the tv it would of still worked on the other tv but there would been more power drawn and the other tv many have seen the power and could be damaged.
Cool, now you have to make a designated little cord for the power source. Are most of the campgrounds near cell towers so you can pick up a signal? So are you going to get the Mrs. a Atlas. They had the best review on Velocity. That whole setup looks awesome!
There may be something wrong with the RV antenna on the test rig. I have a 2003 5th wheel and my original amplified Winegard antenna easily gets HDTV 70 miles away. Some of my RV friends have switched the antenna heads to the King Omni or King Jack with good results as well. Why anyone would want a portable TV antenna on a tripod is beyond me. There is a bit of a misnomer concerning HDTV the TV is the HD part and an antenna is just that and will receive any signal that is broadcast. The higher the antenna the better the reception.
Ha. Same setup my wife and I have. 2017 F-450, and a 2016 Navigator. Love them both. My wife saw the 2018 Expedition Max at our state fair, we might look into those when the time comes. But until then... she’s stuck with the Lincoln. Just wanted to say, those bumpers on your truck look amazing.
+Trent Jackson: What’s funny is that she’s had just about every luxury SUV there is. She really wants a Lexus GX or LX but I’m thinking she will hate the swing out rear door. Of all the SUVs we’ve owned, she really liked the 2011 Durango Citadel she had from 2011-2013. She loved the look of her 2013 Infiniti QX80, but it had quite a few technology problems. Who knows what’s next.
Did your old setup not have a roof antenna? A lot of people do not realize they will rotate. I am wondering about ditching the whole tripod set up and just mount it to your roof. It would be a lot higher up and avoid a lot of interference.
Hey thanks for that I got to tell you that is nice I could really use one of those for sure I'm going to check that out probably order one that is a handy nice antenna thanks we appreciate your time..
Looks like a good antenna I will be adding to my list of things to buy. Thnx for video. Easy install. I would think someone might walk away with the antenna or wind will blow it down leaving it on the table
I wonder if u could attach it to the bike rack when it’s up possibly. A very interesting antenna simple small easy to store. Something good for long term travel. I also noticed the new Jayco north point next to you. Looks like. 17 possibly a 18
Good review, though it would've been nice to see the channel scan results from the other antenna (even though you mentioned it). I'm curious however, why not use this as your permanent antenna and rigid mount it on the roof? Additionally, I wonder if you would've received even more channels if you had put the tripod on the roof. :)
Hey JD? (I think that's right) anyway I've got a darn near twin Chaparral to yours. I'm having trouble getting my tailgater (dish) to connect. If I bypass all my cable hook up and go directly to the receiver it works. In my water compartment is 5! Places to connect cable. They're marked satellite living room, bedroom etc..... Two each. Then one says cable TV. Those all are labeled. Inside there is two, one goes to the booster an one not. Nothing labeled inside. Any ideas? If you read this. John in Tucson
Why not use the stock TV antenna that came with your trailer? (Not the flexible one, the one already mounted on the roof?). Just make sure the booster is turned on at the coax wall plate (tiny little button). There is no such thing as a HDTV antenna... VHF and UHF frequencies are still the same just digital versus analog. However if your trailer antenna only has a basic VHF, that might explain it. If you have a wineguard just add the Wingman to get more UHF reception. Note it’s a common issue with Travel trailers where people don’t realize there is a booster for the roof antenna and they don’t get any channels until it is turned on.
Do you have a recommendation for an onboard Internet setup? We have plans to be independent of WIFI offered in the parks so we can do business and stream TV.
The whole thing seems to work, but the sounds of you setting up the tripod and mounting the antenna made it seem very rinky dink. I'm wondering what happens in a light wind or if someone trips over it.
I’m surprised you bought that rig with 3 TV’s and it didn’t come with a decent HDMI antenna to bring in a signal. It looks wired for all TVs per your video so what’s on the roof of the RV? Guess you should mount that King antenna on top next.
The factory antenna works well on my tt. Though, the aluminum siding i have may play a factor vs the smooth siding. And yes, i prefer the aluminum over the smooth... Hey btbrv, What generator do use to power the 5th wheel? And what is your opinion on the remote start options for it? My current setup is the honda 3000is. Ive been interested in a remote start... my concern is finding one that can operate the choke.....
Was your cheapie antenna boosted like the one you tested? My cheapie is boosted and does ok. Hard to know without testing. If you didn't plug your cheapie into an outlet, it wasn't boosted. If not, not a fair comparison. Also you can't just put that white thing anywhere. It is rather directional. Not knocking the one you tested and for heaven sake tell us the retail price.
Big Truck Big RV I was commenting on the park , not your situation. I really enjoy your RV vids, but seeing this park was a real let down. It's to bad any Park has to cram in RV'S like this. In truly hope the best for your grandmother sir.

Bought it, hooked it up in minutes, have great reception and worth every penny! 👍

Talking about sucking up...
Just think how many more channels you get if you mounted on the roof of your RV a little higher up a little bit more clearance just my thought.
Looks like a nice product. I think I like that it doesn't mount to the roof of the RV. I bought two brand new RVs in my life and both of them, the TV antenna which I honestly never use has leaked LOL. thanks for the video.
Were about to be full timer RV’ers and I just ordered one. Thanks! Can’t wait to try it out
Love the site your at We stayed in that same site going and returning from brownsville jan . super review
mount the antenna on your roof you will get better reception that way the higher the antenna the better ti works
Our Heritage Glen, Forest River 312 qbud, the antenna that came with it I was able to pick up 36 digital channels 30 miles east of Cincinnati.

I watch HDTV free on my homemade #12 copper wire on PVC pipe. That's all you need.
Get a 1/2" steel plate and place a piece of rubber or cloth on the bottom of the steel plate and mount the magnetic part of the antenna, place it on top of your camper.that way the wind won't blow it over.

Good video haven't really used the antenna on my trailer but the winndgaurd works well. I usually hook up to cable or use wifi and watch what I want.
I have had fairly good luck with my King antenna on my Lance camper. It doesn't get signal out in the middle of the desert canyons, but I wouldn't expect it to.

Cool, now you have to make a designated little cord for the power source. Are most of the campgrounds near cell towers so you can pick up a signal? So are you going to get the Mrs. a Atlas. They had the best review on Velocity. That whole setup looks awesome!

Trent Jackson: That is funny. My wife really doesn’t like her Navigator and wants something different. Happy wife......
LOL, we all know that is true.

We've had the Durango R/T prior to the navigator. That was really nice too, but not to feasible with 4 kids, no cargo area with the third row up.
Did your old setup not have a roof antenna? A lot of people do not realize they will rotate. I am wondering about ditching the whole tripod set up and just mount it to your roof. It would be a lot higher up and avoid a lot of interference.
As long as weather is mild and no wind guess it's ok
Coax cable should have rubber boot at the antenna connection
The magnet mount would be great for a van.
Hey thanks for that I got to tell you that is nice I could really use one of those for sure I'm going to check that out probably order one that is a handy nice antenna thanks we appreciate your time..
The T@B 400 I am looking at doesn’t have a mounted tv antenna. Thank you for the excellent review.
I would be highly disappointed if you got rid of your F-450. Great video. Luv dat truck. I have F-150 in the Ruby Red. My next truck will be F-350.
I would put a King Jack digital antenna head on top in place of the standard winegard head and not have to deal with tripods, etc.
Looks like a good antenna I will be adding to my list of things to buy. Thnx for video. Easy install. I would think someone might walk away with the antenna or wind will blow it down leaving it on the table
I would recommend Jeep grand Cherokee to replace the navigator my wife has had two of them now and she loves them they are a fantastic SUV
Didn't you mount the cable the wrong way around? The plug with the shroud goes to the antenna to keep the water out at the antenna if it rains.
I wonder if u could attach it to the bike rack when it’s up possibly. A very interesting antenna simple small easy to store. Something good for long term travel. I also noticed the new Jayco north point next to you. Looks like. 17 possibly a 18
The device is called an impedance matching transformer. They work best as close to the TV as possible. Your method reduced some electrical matching
😎🇺🇸👍 looks like a good product thanks for the info.

I'm curious however, why not use this as your permanent antenna and rigid mount it on the roof? It would work even better if you mount it on a telescoping pole and get it as high as possible.
Could probably attach it to your roof ladder rail on the roof
Would love to see a comparison between a few different models

Did it outperformed your Winegard RV antenna on the roof?

New navigator is awesome.....must be downsizing.
What are rf channels? I mean you can’t access those only the digital…
Nice!
How many miles were you from the tv stations? Or how many miles were you from the broadcast points.
How does the antenna performs while you drive does it cuts off can passengers watch the tv while its in movement
I’m surprised you bought that rig with 3 TV’s and it didn’t come with a decent HDMI antenna to bring in a signal. It looks wired for all TVs per your video so what’s on the roof of the RV? Guess you should mount that King antenna on top next.
+Ric Bailey: We have one on the roof, but this one outperforms it dramatically.
The factory antenna works well on my tt. Though, the aluminum siding i have may play a factor vs the smooth siding.
And yes, i prefer the aluminum over the smooth...
Hey btbrv,
What generator do use to power the 5th wheel? And what is your opinion on the remote start options for it? My current setup is the honda 3000is. Ive been interested in a remote start... my concern is finding one that can operate the choke.....
Do they make one for australian use with 220/240 volt .
Can you imagine what it would pull in if you didn't locate it between 2 large RV's?
Is it possible to mount this antenna on the roof of the RV?
have you done any research, use, or recommend cellphone/data boasters
My concern - theft of unit. Can it be permanently attached up top?
I'm sure it could be. I didn't try because I wanted to show the included mounting offerings.
Where do you work?
For the life of me I just don't get concrete camping, what's the point?
Luckily there are those who like concrete or there would be too many rigs off track. I do both, but campsites more often than not.
you must like livin in the dirt
Was your cheapie antenna boosted like the one you tested? My cheapie is boosted and does ok. Hard to know without testing. If you didn't plug your cheapie into an outlet, it wasn't boosted. and I thought the 350 you had wasn't going to go anywhere either....but nooooo....lol
You never show yourself??
If you put it on the roof of the RV you might get more
Keep the truck plz don't sell it
I'd sell out my T.T. and find another hobby before I would stay in a dive park like that.
Rob Dingledorf: What if that park was the closest to a hospital that you Grandmother was in?
Big Truck Big RV
