Thank You for the video. Replacing a 44 year old Skyliner antenna on a vintage Argosy travel trailer- this gave a really nice overview of what is available.
Do not buy the flat window antenna it is a scam I am a nomad I travel at most I might get three channels 4 if I'm lucky it's not worth it get a permanent Mount antenna.
Yes you can do that, you just have to make sure that the antenna booster inside is off so the TV receives the signal from the cable line. Most of the antenna boosters are selector switches, on for antenna and off for cable. If the booster doesn't allow any signal through you might have to bypass the connection at the booster and go directly to the TV for it to work. Thanks Dan-RV Repair Club
when you showed the winegard single mount you mentioned that you may have to move it little around, does it have anything below that can be moved from inside the caravan, or do i have to get on the roof to move it around,
Thanks for visiting the RV Repair Club site and the opportunity to assist with your antenna question. It will have a handle inside the rig similar to the old batwing models that allow you to rotate the antenna to get different towers.
Thank you for your reply, why you did not show us, the full system, for example the King Jack they show you how everything works, the reason asking because i'm so confused which Antenna to get between the two of them :)
Hi, Mario. The clip you are referencing is an overview of the various types of antenna available to help show RVers which model might be the best to upgrade to. We did shoot a comprehensive video on the automatic operation and installation as well as the new stand alone version which should be posted soon.
Hi Tyler. Most of the trailers still come with antennas. They were a basic model for years but have been upgrading to better antennas on the newer models. Most of the newer ones are 360 directional so you don't even have to turn them for a better signal. You can always install better ones but it is best to test what it came with as they have improved over the years. Thanks Dan RV Repair Club
No they will actually be different from each mountable antenna. When installing a new antenna with a different pattern, I recommend covering the old holes with roof repair tape and then going around the edges with a lap sealant to help prevent the edges from peeling up. Depending on what you replace with, it might be close but most of the time the patterns are different.
I noticed that my coax cable is broken on the roof instead of running a new one can I use my King Dome satellite to pick up local TV channels? I really don't know much about this I just purchased this RV used. If I could avoid running new cables and a new antenna by using the satellite system that's up there I would rather do that
Depending on the package you have, your King Dome receiver/dish can pick up the basic NBC, CBS, ABC, and maybe FOX channels but only limited to the package you have. If the cable is broken, it’s easy to splice a new piece of cable to get more reception? I would think you could get a Best Guy guy or handyman to do it in less than an hour?

I do not see how the wingman works because it is no metal to metal connection .
Can you plug a regular antenna into the cable input and not use the rv amp. will that work?

Do travel trailers still come with antennas from factory anymore? Or did they ever? I'm looking at buying my first trailer

I have a hdms9100 mounting bracket on my rv, Will the bolt pattern be the same? Thanks
