What really bugs me in this movie is that there are so much death, gore and blood that is installed for shock and despair factor it seemed that some characters are only in this movie just to die brutally. other characters die gruesome deaths but on the other hand I fail to connect with them deeply because they are not given enough character development and build up. What I really hated in this movie was Darkseid's motivations on Earth like seriously collecting lava and magma?!!! The real Darkseid went to Earth because he thought that the anti-life equation was hidden there.
The only actual victim of this movie is the Flash. After every apokolips/end of the world and most of his friends died, he had to go back in time to fix shit. Every time... he remembers them, all of them. Man, let Booster Gold handle the next one please.
I would say Clark Kent and Superman had it worse, he lost his friends and his power, and Darkseid even made a tattoo on his chest and let him live so he can carry the burden of his failure and guilt forever.
Barry rewriting reality again like he did in Justice League Flashpoint really does not make any sense to me. In Flashpoint, Barry had to go back in time 20+ years (basically a life time) in order to fix the timeline. So of course that's going to change a few things. But in this movie, only two years have pasted since Darkseid took over the Earth and everyone started dying, so why does he have to literally rewrite reality when he could just go back in time 2 years to warn everyone about what's going to happen?
I get that the league needed to be put in a position of absolute hopelessness, but I can't get over the fact that Darkseid was able to create thousands of soldiers that can casually kill top tiers in the DC universe (Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Captain Marvel). Also, there is never any mention of New Genesis in any of the films, which is weird. And you'd think that Batman would have a better contingency plan than just making Constantine run back to Earth.
"you'd think that Batman would have a better contingency plan " - the man who nearly killed the whole justice league with his plans getting leaked couldnt have a single good idea in this movie in strategy. "we know his whole army has weakpoints" well if you know that so well you think darkseid might you know plan for that? and improve his army from a decade earlier?
TBH though, the Paradooms vary in power from scene to scene. They really are like the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park 3. One second they are inducing the worf effect by killing the fuck out of the most powerful characters in the DC universe. The next? They struggle to kill characters who literally have no superpowers at all. Am I the only one who thinks realistically wouldn't it be the other way around? Both Superman and Wonder Woman fought hard against Doomsday in Death of Superman, lasting the longest against him. These things are only HALF Doomsday...
The Teen Titans didn't come with them to Apokolips. They stayed as a last line of defense for Earth if shit hit the fan. Which is worse if ya think about it.
Yeah, I was like "Um, you guys are leaving literal teenagers, also minors, as a last line of defense against Paradooms. A combination of a Parademons and the very creature that killed freaking Superman once. Have you all gone insane!?"
@@cinthiacruzado2594 well, they didn't know going in but they were going to be up against Paradooms. But to be honest, they should have predicted that. I mean, Superman says *in the movie* that Darkseid was the one who created Doomsday. Why wasn't anyone like, "Supes, we couldn't handle *one* Doomsday. Darkseid makes like, *3* , and we're fucked!"
@@ultimatenintendoninja5450 Not to mention an entire army at his disposal. Even if no one saw the Paradooms coming, they should have prepared for the worst.
it was legit like hey this high school baseball team won state... listen we need you to go take on the new york yankee's but if you lose we all die.......
So... Darkseid's Para-Doomsdays are basically Superman, meaning they're defenseless to magic. They all jump on top of Zatanna but do nothing to restrain her from spellcasting. Zatanna is a magician with the level of power that could f*** this whole army sideways with one word because they've got no magic defenses whatsoever. Zatanna says "John, run!" ... F*** this movie and the horse it rode in on
DAHAKA, GUARDIAN OF THE TIMELINE ahahahhahaha fucking exactly. Supermans weakness isn’t only kryptnite holy shit. How did I forgot to mention this in the video! Red son energy would of worked too. But magic is so easy. Dr fate? Where you bud?
Which sucks considering how good some of the previous movies in the franchise were. Like they were no dark Knight returns part 1 or 2, but still were enjoyable
I didn’t “hate” this movie. It was decent at best. A bit too fast passed and many characters acting wayyyy to far beyond their normality. I liked the idea with Superman and the kryptonite tattoo that was awesome. I liked the idea of them dying or getting wounded severely. Just wish it was done better. Making them into super-powered slaves was also nice. Done poorly. The paradooms were dumb af cause any magic would wipe true board and both zatana and John could kill em all without tryin. It was good on certain areas but it was just too fast, under developed and too far out of character. And they killed of many good characters in stupid af ways too that bothered me.
Yeah I just wish they didn’t do Shazam so dirty but what I think should have happend is they fought hard but darkseid ended capturing them all too make more mutated parademons and john zatanna and Shazam would make an alliance with the titans and eventually defeat darkseid
Of all the comic book movies ever to exist, JL Dark: Apokolips War is the most mean-spirited, unenjoyable film & I'm happy it ends with rebooting the animated movies. It felt like an exercise in pointless nihilism & not even in a semi-enjoyable sense. Not even being drunk makes it enjoyable.
The sad part is DC didn’t have the guts to do this movie without pushing the reset button again. Like it DC always does! Seriously that’s all DC ever does. Fuck up their universe then press the reset button rendering the event meaningless
@@youtubeistryingtocensorme I'm pretty sure they wanted to reboot the universe and decided to set up this event for it instead of outright getting quietly getting rid of it.
By the time Lady Shiva got killed by a random sniper I ended up laughing my ass off instead of feeling bad. This movie seriously trying too hard to be edgy imo (don't try to tell me about world is not all bright shit because I love some of that Evangelion and Jacob's Ladder), combined with strange stuffs like DamianxRaven. The only good writing is Superman's character and Trigon Superman. Maybe some of the Suicide Squad but their routine got annoying rather quickly. Flashpoint did the gritty DC stuff better imo.
I seriously thought that I was the only person in the world that absolutely hated this film, as a DC fan it's painfully deceptive to call this better than END GAME. This is an absolute disaster from a directorial point and character portrayal. I think nowadays we as an audience we are over hyping this dark and edgy tones, they mostly are a cheap-shots.
I am tired of dark and edgy superhero stories. We need more optimism, hope and fun in our superhero stories. Hopefully the next set if DC films will finally get away from the new 52 misery and embrace the fun of being a superhero.

I did hear that a lot but there was a small glimmer of hope with flashpoint (x2) but I agree especially with things like the DCEU look at the only movies that worked Wonder Woman Aquaman SHAZAM were all bright and colorful (WW wasn’t super dark)
Under the red hood isn’t just a dc animated movie. It’s a great movie in general. Mask of the phantasm is legit one of my all time favs. This just missed the mark I reckon
What I didn’t get in this movie was, why was Superman doing all the planning? You literally have 2 of the smartest beings in the DC universe in Batman and Lex Luthor, and Flash whose seen COUNTLESS of different realities with Flashpoint. Why aren’t THEY doing the planning?? 🤔🤔🤔🤨 That always comes off as odd to me
If that was your problem then you need help , batman and Diana literally agreed and even joined clark as he was telling everyone what to do,the main reason they failed is because darkseid knew..and FFS if bats or lex is sooo smart for more than 5 years wouldn't they have thought of darkseid being able to access cyborgs body This opinion is just stupid and based on the fact you hate superman
Honestly, I really liked the Death of Superman and Reign of the Superman films. They literally brought in the most comic accurate version of Superboy.....and then they just sort of like, fell off the deep end. Honestly I'm actually just glad to see a review that's not praising the film because like the majority of people are just kissing it's ass.
I’m glad someone is on the same page. I didn’t mind death of superman. I just felt so odd watching this movie knowing everyone else for the majority liked it
For me, I haven't seen all the movies yet but they weren't that bad. This one just went way off the deep end and honestly, the Paradooms power level seems to change literally every other second they are on screen. One second they can take out the most powerful of characters, the next they struggle against literally powerless characters. They are like the Spinosaurus in Jurassic Park 3 when it kills the T-Rex, killing the powerful just as a writing effort to force us to know they are powerful. And I think we both agree that even heroes seem to have varying power levels too. Overall too sadistic for my tastes.
Eternantium literally my thoughts, and characters doing dumb things like going in for hand to hand combat for no reason other then to die. I’ve watched most of these movies bar the latest Wonder Woman, suicide squad and the last bit of justice league dark
@@DareToEntertain Indeed. Even Superboy who apparently survived for a long time against these before, suddenly dies out of nowhere. Just...to die. I don't know why Superboy wasn't part of Lois' resistance? But then again they basically went into the movie wanting everyone to fail so they could justify a poetic book ending. And they bring in Wallace West for the first time, just to kill him off. Wonder Girl just disappears, presumed dead. I believe this was her first movie in the universe too. But IDK on that for sure. They were literally introduced into this movie, just to have no lines and die. Could've saved money by just not wasting animation on them at all. It's almost telling that the only titans who make it to the end unscathed are Damian (though he did have to be revived) and Raven. Raven I get but I feel like Wonder Girl and Superboy at least would realistically be able to make it to the ending, but again they wanted the heroes to fail so...yeah.
Eternantium this is what would of happened if Infintiy war sucked. This feeling. Like imagine them not giving a line or anything to Spider-Man. No prior films or even with prior films we don’t see him til the very end of the movie and they go, oh yeah he’s gone now. How or why? You don’t know.
I have not watched this movie, mostly because I didn't want to watch all of my favorite characters die. But then I read the plot of it on wiki and watched this video, and it just confirmed that I am NEVER watching this movie. I don't want to watch characters that I have been following since I was 5 get eaten alive, torn apart, disemboweled and driven insane. Especially when those deaths are only going to be casually glanced over in a few flashbacks. How did the directors not think anyone was going to be upset by either of those?
@UC8JixCJsqqFJul-pMdrmi4w If you're gonna throw out insults, you may wanna look up what they mean first. Otherwise the irony of your usage of it could make you seem like a fucking dumbass
Thank god it wasn't just me! This liked the 5th review I've watched and the only 1 i agree with. I feel like those other dudes watched a completely different movie. In comics most of these heroes are touted as genius level intellect. The follow superman's plan of ,what? bursting in through the front door? when has Batman ever just took someones elses plan at face value? King fisher became groot, etrigan stopped rhyming, and bad guys became selfless when they've showed many times that even if a world wide cataclysm is happening, somebody getting betrayed. And oh yea, I'm supposed to believe the entire green lantern core chilled on OA for 2 years while the earth is destroyed, galactic peace keepers... FOH
the fact that i cut around 10 min out of this video too with me skipping HUGE sections of the movie just to save time. Really wanted to like this one too lol
Actually the stuff you mentioned coincides with the trailer: heroes become villains, villains become allies. This was everything promised and then some more
Clayton Smith how about actually watching the movie first before commenting? And forming your own FACT based opinion instead of regurgitating nonsense? You think you can do that? Now you're probably wondering why I am being so harsh. Because you literally spouted nonsense that isn't even remotely related to anything that happened in the movie. It wasn't Superman's plan that was bad. It was the fact that Darkseid knew the plan in detail because he spied on the Justice League war strategy meetings using Cyborg's motherbox tech. The fact you didn't even realize this obvious fact shows that you have no right to comment on this movie. One has to wonder how many other obvious things you missed.
I actually agree a lot with what you said, but I still liked the movie. One thing I didn’t get is why Batman agreed to invade apokilips. He would’ve been the main one raising hell about how dumb an idea it was. Also his first concern is supposed to be Gotham.
The line between if this stuff breaks the film for you is so very fine. A line a film like WW84 is dealing with. The issues of that movie didn’t bother me or at least detract from the experience enough for me to not enjoy it. I’m glad you liked it mate. Others have put forward the idea of why Batman was so complicit in the plan too.
I think becuase batman just had no choice. you cant start a conflict in the justice league while a war against a far more powerful force is about to happen.
The Vice Master because the idea wasn't dumb. There is literally nothing they could have done to avoid decimation unless someone miraculously figured out that Darkseid hacked Cyborg's mother box tech and was spying on all of their plans and conversations. The reason the league lost is because they got ambushed, the reason they got ambushed is coz Darkseid knew every detail of their plan.
I didn't like it and haven't cared for any movies in this JL War continuity. This movie itself was basically just heroes brutally beating each other with fan service.
shadownight 2000 Dark war copied a lot of stuff from endgame 1. They both lose 2. Both have Time jumps 3. Both have One character blaming themselves and are depressed and still trying to find a way to fixed things 4. Both have One character scared to fight the enemy 5. Both have One character blaming another character 6. Both have Characters thinking of a plan 7. Both have One character going ninja 8. Both have their Universes to join the fight 9. Both have one flying character save the day 10. Both have one character mad about losing a loved one 11: both have used to be villains beating the main villains 12 :both evil family members
shadownight 2000 u know it’s true tho dark war is a copy also flash did time travel I’ll add that to the list I put the one who is scared to fight the enemy because tony and Constantine are basically almost the same lol it’s actually funny how much they copied and no one noticed and I don’t care about the ratings
I'll admit Trigon beating Darkseid was memorable, However they did a lot of heroes & villains Dirty made them killed too easily instead of ending it honourably they just decide to kill everyone except their Favorates and only give respectable deaths to those they liked, As for everyone else they were Nerfed! apparently Swampthing got eaten alive even though he can regenerate & can't be killed, Then there was Batwing & Batwoman were killed by regular Parademons which they could normally handle no problem, Black Orchid vaporised by heat vision even though she's a magical manifestation, Finally! Lady Shiva the most formidable female Assain in the world gets shot by a REGULAR SOLIDER same with Wonder Woman's Archenemy Cheetah normally! she's quick & fast enough to dodge & kill someone like that BUT NO! HOW BULLSHIT
I feel like the lack of momentum when the heroes were getting killed off sorta works because the justice league got STEAM ROLLED. And when you get steam rolled you dont have any momentum, the bad guys have all the momentum
One thing that bugs me in a way is the paradooms they were strong enough too wipe out/enslave the big league JLA members but couldnt handle mostly humans in that final fight with a bit of kryptonite
@@tempusername-l5d Yeah because Krytonite isn't a rare item or anything like that. It's just lying around everywhere for everyone to make armour suits with it 🤣
Aw man that movie was a drag, I didn't feel anything. Painfully no setup and tried to tackle way more than it was ever going to be capable of. Don't get me wrong I like Captain Boomerang but him being one of the best characters in the film with one of the largest DC rosters I've seen in a film speaks volumes about the movie's incapability to capture what matters most in this type of story thread. Normally I dislike films that essentially erase all the things that happen throughout the story. It was one of the first things I learnt about writing a story in primary school, "it's no good having everything be a dream at the end" however for me it was the best part of the film when Barry created a new flashpoint. Mostly for all the points you made (Also because I didn't like the film and a reset button makes me happy)
Leon McShane exactly man, imagine saying you have the ENTIRE ROSTER of dc hero’s. And captain boomerang and a version of king shark that only goes “king shark is a Shark” are among the only speaking characters who don’t make you eye roll.
Oh and also, fantastic job! Loved the video and was thinking exactly all the same points as you while I was watching. Hard to believe this film is getting the praise, however I guess the DC fans have been a bit deprived lately with content..... (Minus Birds of Prey, loved that film)
Leon McShane the live action stuff as standalone films has been insane, just sucks we aren’t gonna get our version of endgame. BOP was amazing but it’s no winter soldier. What I would do to get a justice league doom live action movie tho...
My biggest problem with these movies was that they didn’t given any backstory to their next movies events and characters. They skipped so much in this universe, like we barely got to hear MARTIAN MANHUNTER AND HAWKMAN SPEAK AT ALL IN THESE MOVIES, hell I don’t think Hawkman even spoke at all in these movies. I just really didn’t like how they skipped so much context and backstory for these movies.
My main problem is they introduce characters only to kill them off brutally I.e Superboy and Batgirl (who NEVER got any character or screen time except one scene unless we're counting Batman: Hush and they was barely 5 minutes)
The best way I can describe movie is that it felt pointless and unearned. A bunch of our favorite characters get killed without haveing any significant impact on the film and the movie feels weirdly unfinished and a lot of the stuff goes unexplained. I just don't like how ruthless it is. Don't get me wrong I'm all for a more dark giddy and realistic take on the DC universe but this was just depressing. I watch movies for the emotions the story makes me feel and escaping reality. thats what a movie is supposed to do, it's supposed to tell a story that makes you feel somthing, weather that be sadness, joy, empithy ecs, but this movie just didn't do that for me. When I first saw this movie and the credits started rolling, I just remember fealling nothing, it just made me feel empty
Soooo this is it. There is no happy ending their is no Damian there is no good rebuild. They end it off there. That’s shit that they killed everyone they should have left like the big ones alive. Like cyborg or super boy or batgirl etc. Like why did they made it like the teen titans, the most fanned group just end like that. The teen titans aren’t even extreme they are teens. Like I’m disappointed that they ended it like that.
@@DareToEntertain i hope that in the man of tomorrow universe of movies the flash will be the one from the 52, it would be nice to see at least some connection to the past movies
Agreed with you until your final point. Lois meant that they had a week until the planet was destroyed (somehow - whether that meant all the magma was mined out or enough of it was taken to destroy the Earth doesn’t matter. It’s implied that they have a week until they all die). At the end they find out that even though they stopped the end of the world, they didn’t do it quickly enough, enough magma has been mined to cause a shift in Earth’s rotation. WonderWoman (I think it was her) says that even a slight change would have catastrophic affects. The world won’t be destroyed, the Justice League won, but billions will still die. It’s supposed to be showing that even after giving it all they had, barely winning, it’s not a perfect victory. Instead of “we smashed the giant robot let’s go home” it’s “we smashed the giant robot and it crushed part of the city”. It’s not a perfect ending, but I believe they used it to justify Flash making another Flashpoint to end the series
I completely understand that side of the argument, I just think its done really really poorly. Telling your audience one thing for it to never of mattered just feels really cheap. Now 158 people currently disagree. I have never had a video this heated before. So i might be in the minority...
why Is the death stroke movie more heart warming than the justice league movie? And why did there have to be so much gore? Why did Damien age but superboy didn’t? Why was doomsday super well animated but paradooms look worse than reboot and why are they cgi in the first place how come superman only fits his voice actor when he’s super beard oh hi lex luthor in the justice league I love to tear this movie apart it’s such a cluster fuck oh hi swamp thing I thought you died in the last Constantine adventure? Yes the killing joke effect is real and this movie deserves an r waaaaaaay more than killing joke
9:38 oh is that because the story constantly sacrifices accurate character moments to build him up? I'll never forget how Damien BEFORE even meeting Batman was able to take out Slade's eye, while Nightwing never even got a win in these movies. A "half decent fight" against Batman isn't a win, its a major lose. Even worse, Damien beats Trigon's first appearance with a Plane and a Bomb, while the Heavy Hitter Superman couldn't do anything. And Nightwing needs to get saved by Catwoman from SCARECROW???? They keep trying to make him out to be the favorite son and best Robin but all this devotion to him takes away from everybody else in the storyline. He gets more screentime than freaking Wonder Woman does in a Justice League movie. (As does, like, the same exact characters from previous movies do)
@@Jnation_346 I think it makes it more realistic. I get the build up but that’s what happens in real life. People die. Easily. And not every death is a dramatic climax.
I found the scene where Superman returns actually pretty stupid. I mean, Trigon was trashing Darkseid, and that was humanity's best shot at winning this contrived war, but Clark just expels the one thing that stood a chance against mega space Hitler and decides to fight in the same manner he did 2 years ago when he lost the battle? So far the only thing Trigon has done was give Raven a mild headache and actually help the heroes! Killing Constantine doesn't count, he's immune to plot.
As someone who watched this entire movie universe as a non DC fan who had no idea about the comics, was just there for the Teen Titans, I could rate these movies a good 8/10. Were some movies fast phased? Yes. I wish they weren't in a hurry to end the universe quickly. Apokolips war was definitely a shocker but I still love that movie for various reasons. I got into reading comics because of this movie universe and a lot other people too. If anything I couldn't hate these movies, not even JLDAW but you've got a point too.
Hey, the sentence that said “got into reading comics because of this movie” means these movies did it’s job. And I am so bloody happy that it was able to. My video is negative for sure. But it accomplished what it needed To for you, and that’s a win if I’ve ever seen one.
I saw a review on how many pointless deaths there were in the movie and I ended up not even watching it. I don't support movies with that much pointless violence.
All of these movies since flashpoint have been complete trash in comparison to what we were getting previously. Under the Red Hood? Mask of the Phantasm? That kick ass Green Lantern movie? Fucking hell man.
@@DareToEntertain Oh shit I totally forgot about those! Plus you had like Year One and Doom and Crisis on Two Earths! Just so much great stuff. I would shill so hard to get people to give these films a try even though they're animated, but now when I hear "DC animated movies" I think of these just half assed movies that range from like meh that was alright to god how can something be this bad! I just hope they get their shit together and get things back to how they were before.
@@TheSmart.1 Duuude Justice league doom was my shit. Granted, I'm happy dc animated stuff is innovating what can be done with direct to video. Like the story arcs they cover and the frequency, just wished the thought and care of the prior films was put into these movies.
19:20 Lois said the following: “those reapers landed weeks prior” “My source told me there will be 3 sent” And Batman worked for darkseid so I’m pretty sure he already knew how much they had take from the earth. So they core extraction had already begun so therefore it can’t be 0% at the 35 minute mark. Logically if something is sent to speed up the process whilst it was ongoing it probably certain that ‘as they calculated’ it would have been completed in a week. And adding to the batman thing he even said it himself to darkseid that “the resistance have been trying to and sabotaging their plans” as darkseid said “this should have been completed weeks ago.
Dont get me wrong, I understand super hero movies dont make the most sense, but this movie was wack. Like as a film, just terrible choices all around, the writing especially, but even the animation. It seemed very soulless, and that it was guaranteed to appeal to diehard fans. I'm a fan, and I was supremely disappointed.
I honestly like the idea of them losing, actual deaths and global damage. Just fix the motive instead of "Superman forces the entire league into another planet full of its enemies in a frontal assault" and make the deaths more slow paced. Perhaps needed 2 movies.
We literally beat for beat agree . Down to the why doesn’t darkseid have any motive towards the anti-life equation... it looks as if you know way more comic lore and stories then I do. So I imagine lazy adaptions of certain material would piss you off way more too
@@DareToEntertain I also found something incredibly annoying about the character designs they utilized. See, ever since Young Justice came out, DC has been capitalizing heavily on the artwork used in that series. You probably spotted Cassie Sandsmark in Throne of Atlantis. So much so that they actually reuse the same character models for the same character across media. Hell, one time they actually used the character model for Darla Dudley...for a DIFFERENT character in Mari McCabe in the CW's Vixen cartoon. It's become so prevalent that in YJ Outsiders, the entirety of that universe started taking more design cues from these VOD films, so you would find JLWar Parademons and DeSaad, Wonder Woman in a ponytail and battle skirt, Deathstroke looking like his appearance in Judas Contract, etc. Lady Shiva's design from this and Batman Hush actually came from YJO. So of course, they did the same thing here...which I can only imagine is really upsetting to fans of Young Justice. Seeing characters that were actually developed and characterized over the three seasons...seeing those versions being brutally killed off by Darkseid (i.e. Guy Gardner) regardless of the actual difference in continuity must have been unbearable.
RayO1 it through me for a loop to be honest. Looking so similar and yeah characters I love from the show to be murdered without a seconds notice or even a story beat.
This movie... so I watched 14 movies for an epic finale and everyone just dies. Ffs this is not how you do a series of films. Look at the mcu. Infinity war was tragic but at least in endgame only 2 characters died and it wad sad but we could move on and get new movies
@@jay_sun2088 the problem is the heroes don't win in infinity war they lose for five years that's how u do it right u make stakes u make them lose but u don't just start killing everyone and then at the end go ooh time jump and fucking reset everything that's lazy writing at best
Mr. Platinum Kinda hard to believe The Avengers lost when you know damn well as the audience that they’re gonna win overall in the 2nd movie. The only critique I have with Apokolips War is them showing Flash running at the end, which is stupid. Why not just roll the credits knowing they’re all doomed?. If they would have just erased that stupid Flash scene then it would have been so much better.
Because leaving on that would of felt empty, the film is paced to have an ending line this. I just don’t think it was earned. It’s ballsy for sure but it comes across so hamfisted imo
I find it frustrating that Superman thought they can easily defeat Darksied just by going to his planet and kill him. And forced the JL(who didn’t even have enough heroes to on the team like other versions of the team) and the titans(who are just teenagers and young adults)and risking the lives of millions on earth. And only two characters called him out after the plan failed: Constatine and Damian, while everyone else defends him. Also why didn’t the league add more heroes like Green Arrow, Hawkgirl, Firestorm, and Steel, and why did they thought that the league and the titans are good enough to defeat Darksied, when you have the green lantern crops, the amazons, the Atlantians, the suicide squad, and all the other heroes around the earth.
Dare To Entertain Agreed with your whole vid. Paradooms were a cheap ass way to casually kill off everyone. Appalling. Awesome makes Doomsday less of big deal. Awesome vid though 😎
This was one of the most forced, contrived, and without logic movie out of all the DC animation. No amount of paid reviews are going to make it good in my book. Good to see there are other fans like you who do not get swayed by the sheep opinion of most of modern day audiance. Good job tearing this treversity the A Hole it deserves.👍
Seeing a character, specifically when capable enough, do nothing to help another that's in trouble is one of my biggest pet peeves in writing, and 8:59 is a big example of it.
Problem is DC has put a dark filter over the entire universe, just because you make things darker doesn’t mean it’s gonna be taken too seriously. At some point it’s just violence for the sake of violence, you look at the original DCAU which was made for all ages to this, it shows how more mature something can be without explicitly trying to be so. I think SUPER FRAME put it best in his review of this movie: “DC is trying to SHOCK not TEACH.”
One of the darkest things that hit the hardest for me is the finale of JLU S4 when Batman and I think it was... ace? The girl who was super powerful. “You came to kill me” “Yes” “But you aren’t going to with wallers device” “Yes” The scene is so short and emotional. Batman has a no killing rule and he’s so... idk. Stuff like that really hits home. He holds her hand till it’s time to kill her.
Ib10 oh yeah it is very different to the modern films like characters being able eaten alive. Just commenting on that darker themes handled with more care can be done brilliantly. And that was particularly a favourite of mine
Personally, I feel that the first and second half of this movie greatly outshine the third. In the opening scene, it's easy to tell that something about this mission doesn't feel right about the plan, and the characters note just how improbable success in this attack against darkseid is. This brings a sense of anxiety to the film and it's paid off when you eventually see what happened to the characters. Throughout this first act, character motives and journeys are established (John's regret at his cowardice, Superman's guilt, Raven's depression and feeling of being lost and all alone matched with Damian's wish to be with his family once again). These are all prevalent, but I feel that they are kind of dropped once we reach the finale. I was nearly livid when Damian's death, which was handled fantastically, was unexplainably reversed by Raven. Especially considering this was directly followed by Constantine's death being unexplainably reversed, it was strange to see the movie that handled the concept of death and despair in war so greatly to just completely turn on its side and just make death feel inconsequential. In addition, the animation began to fall apart towards the end too. The beginning to middle of the movie was animated and colored fantastically and the shot composition was the best it's been for a while in these movies (that fight with the JL and the league of assassins members was one of the highlights of the film for me). However, as we reached the end, the characters began to fall off model a bit, and there's one shot at the end where all of the heroes are sitting at Titans' Tower mourning, and there was absolutely no sense of perspective or visual depth at all. Everything felt flat, and it looked uncanny. However, the neo-flashpoint ending I thought was handled well, and there's still alot to love in this film. Just as an aside, Superman's heroic return when he was fighting with Darkseid was pretty sloppy. We are told that the liquid kryptonite was ingrained on his DNA sequences, but yet he simply becomes angry and regains his powers (and where did the suit come from, magic??). I'd still give this one a 6.9/10 overall, and I think it's a must see for any fans of these characters. I think it would've been much much better as a 2 parter. If I were going to fix the ending, here's what I would do. Have Damian's death and the explosion that causes Lois's death take place at the same time. As Raven cries out in sorrow, Trigon in his phantom-like form that we are shown in the film comes out of her. Across from this, we see superman broken, down on his knees in complete and utter devastation. He screams out, "Lois!" and the shadow of Trigon circles around him. We get that dope ass Trigon-Superman form, as clark immediately dashes towards Darkseid and begins to pound him. Finally free of trigon, raven achieves her "white raven" form. This draws a dichotomy between the emotional journeys of both characters. As one loses their beloved, they become an angel, whereas the other falls from grace, becoming a monster. All of this is going on as cyborg is struggling to open the boom tube. We are treated too a fight similar to that of Superman Vs. Doomsday in the Death of Superman Film (with some much better key animation than what we ultimately got I might add - this is the finale after all). Supes is pounding on Darkseid for taking away the thing that kept him hopeful (no homo). He eventually defeats him, shooting dual lazers at his eyes. In a blind fit of rage, he attacks raven for keeping him (Trigon) entrapped for so long. Just before he strikes, she teleports behind clark, and grasps his shoulder with both hands and gazes right in his eyes, just as Clark did when Raven attempted to take her own life after the attack on Titans' Tower. After a quick flashback, Superman cries out, letting the shadow of Trigon escape through his mouth (if you've seen Justice League Vs. Teen Titans, it would look just like when the demon escaped from Diana's body). Darkseid gets back up, the boom tube opens, and Superman tells the rest of them to go escape without him. He regards, "This is all my fault. It's my fight". Darkseid attacks, and the rest go through the boom tube. Superman and Darkseid battle as Apokolips collapses, sealing both their fates in. The ending of the movie follows as the same, but the only characters left alive are Raven, Flash, Wonder Woman, Batman, Nightwing, and Starfire.
I hate the Martha scene in this movie. Instead of Bruce flashing back to his parents' deaths for the 15000th time, what would've been really gripping would be a short flashback through some of Bruce's key moments with his son.
Personally, I loved the movie, warts and all. Maybe I'm just a sucker for seeing beloved characters die to villains, but the sudden deaths with no character arc or dialogue isn't a big issue for me. Shit happens, not everyone can die with theatrical gravitas. Having said that, you have made a strong case for the contrary, and I respect that. Therefore, for what little it's worth, a like and subscribe from me to you.
Finally somebody understands that not every death of an important character needs to be a 5 minute fight scene. People die really easily in real life. And plus you’re filled with adrenaline ofc you’re not thinking straight. And you’ve seen your comrades you’ve spent years with die. Like I said not thinking straight.
@@CaptainObvious__This ain't real life though, just saying. I mean I think it's pretty reasonable to be upset about a character you like getting not getting a send off. Personally it was very odd to me seeing all the heroes drop back to back. It felt rushed in a sense. It is what it is though.
I hate this move for just two reasons hurting my beautiful Starfire and Nightwing and John Constantine cause he’s such an emotionless prick doesn’t care about the others who are in so much pain and fear. Seriously why can’t just one single DC movie can have a happy and understandable ending where no one dies, no one gets brainwashed or turns evil. I will always hate this movie for treating Starfire and Nightwing like that they didn’t deserve it and the other heroes in general. Also I still ship Raven with Beast boy not with Damian. This movie will forever be non canon to me and others like me.
Considering dick and starfire had movies setting them up to have their story end like this is seriously disappointing. So much potential just thrown out the window.
@@DareToEntertain I know right before Apokolips war I was expecting them to have a movie on their own where they get married and have their children Mari and Jake.
You and all of those who seen the movie have to admit: Trigon fighting Darkseith was soooo good. And if we were to determine who would have won, Trigon would probably had made Darkseith his bitch. Darkseith is powerful, but Trigon is on another level of Power.
I adore Trigon, he is one of dc’s most underrated villains and under-utilised. The music when Superman shows up and the second fight starts is sick. And then the bit where trigon goes to Superman leave before he fights him to battle darkseid. Just really cool. Video was already over long so I trimmed my ending down quite a lot. I do that a lot with my video essays. They start around 35 or so min and get trimmed down.
@@TheN1ghtwalker Again with that true Darkseith crap? First, In order for him to beat Trigon in his true form, he need to bring him in his dimension, otherwise, Darkseith risk to destroy the universe, universe he want to conquier. But Trigon is not dumb enough to enter in the 4th World by himself. Heck, he even outsmarted and beat Mr Myxptlk, who is one of the trickiest villain of the DC Universe. The only way Darkseith could beat Trigon( Outside his real form) is the anti-life equation or mind controlling Raven into fighting her father, since she is the only being who can beat him).
Never heard word about this movie but when i found a random video that said "that one time DC movies got really edgy" it led me to this rabbit hole. Someone once said that if this was a 2 part conclusion, the first part would be how Darkseid was able to hack into Cyborg's programming, the build up to war, the actual fight in apokolips, and the cliffhanger conclusion where Darkseid invades Earth that leads to a grim future. The second part would most likely be the rest of this movie albeit with more character exploration, maybe a steadier pace to help warrant a hour and a half conclusion, and that's it. The shock value did work but it quickly got stale fast and just left a bad feeling seeing familiar characters getting mutilated and eaten alive within seconds.
I think the reason this film and Ultimatum were so awful is that talented, non-hack writers/directors/artists would have zero interest in massacring these beloved characters just so a studio can hit the reset button.
@@DareToEntertain i think you’re both right tbh. They took the plot armor off completely for some parts, but then randomly padded other characters with so much padding that they might have suffocated in others. Cough cough (Damien? Imo with Raven. Wtf?)
I dont have issues with characters dying. I absolutely love the 1986 transformers movie and it kills literally the entire cast of the first 2 seasons basically. But this felt mindless and just bleh. It didnt feel earned. Characters just get their neck snapped or randomly tapped by an off screen badie
@@DareToEntertain also what do you think about tf wfc earthrise? (No spoilers please). I havent watched it yet. I watched the first deason though. was it good? With the quintessons and galvatron and whatever else they were teasing?
I'm glad I found this video. Those death scenes were scarred into my mind for over a year after I watched this trauma-porn. I really like your critique on this movies deep flaws and desperate need to be edgy for edginess' sake. I can't even look at clips from any of the other movies without disgust because of this crapfest. I'm really glad to see I'm not the only one who hates this movie (I know you don't hate it, but still).
You're definitely not alone - I absolutely DESPISE this movie. There's right ways to have heroes die on screen, but these examples were the WRONG ways. Thematically you DO NOT treat heroic characters like that, unless you're an idiot 14 year old who thinks he's being edgy and oh so cool). Casually, suddenly, and unexpectedly killing off people (not even giving their deaths proper build-ups or last stands) and ALSO making it as graphic and gross as possible was disgusting, not only for how gross it is, but because of how poorly it was done. It's almost perverse, in a way. Whoever was associated with this trainwreck of a movie should be deeply ashamed of themselves. It doesn't even matter if the rest of the story was good (and it wasn't); the fact that they just butchered so many beloved characters in such a perverted way is absolutely unforgiveable.
@@The95thZebra Thanks for being a reminder that I'm not the only one who passionately hates this hideous excuse for a film!! Seeing positive comments about this movie utterly baffles (and frustrates) me as well!!
In regards to the pacing I'm totally on board with you. Pacing too fast at the beginning, but to be fair, this is darkseid. This is how he rolls. I know that some of the decisions for the sake of cinematic isn't ideal, but I have no doubt that Darkseid if he could have done any of this, would have absolutely done all of it. I think that Darkseid is probably the biggest lost opportunity because he is the reason why all this is so visceral so graphic and filled with gore. The lost opportunity is Darkseid. The center of the conflict but simply doesn't get enough screen time. Because Darkseid is what takes all the pieces and makes it all come together.
I really wanna know how superman got injected with fking kryptonite for 2 whole years without it killing him, based on what they've portrayed about kryptonite it's basically suppose to kill a kryptonian even over a distance when there's a long time of exposure to it...but as usual dc must always scrap their previous logic for plot convenience And then flash been running for 2 years, and immediately after that..no rest, no food...and just starts running for 2 seconds and breaks the time barrier🤦🤦, this is why dc will never be as successful as Marvel.
I finally got around to watching this movie. Im glad you made this review I was baffled by the praise it received it deserves none of it. From a movie standpoint it is terrible. Poor pacing, weak plot, and powerpoint flash backs and scenes just glancing over pretty serious and important moments. As DC fan that has been watching and reading DC content for 26 years it is even worse. Everyone acts so out of character in so many scenes. Then having the top tier powerhouses just instantly die while low tier heroes and villains put up lasting fights none of it makes any sense. Like even going into it as a braindead action flick it's not good. Sure there are a few good action scenes a couple good fights but the good ones are cut short and the others just end up feeling pointless. Just all around disappointed with it especially with how good some of the previous movies were.
Some of the previous films in this universe have yeah been top tier stuff that I have enjoyed. And seem wrinklings of the plot I do see potential. But holy hell yeah I’m glad there are some people who see my point of view. Thanks for the comment man.
The reviews baffle me the most. I feel like this is history repeating itself... back in the 90ies, when Azrael became batman, this was done to show readers how horrible of an idea it was and the fans went "yeaaaaahhhh" and the authors went "noooooo...." and I feel this is the same thing.... I believe the writers wanted to show the edgelord Snyder-simps how horrible of a take this is, and in the end it gets 90% on rotten tomatoes?? My fate in humanity took another critical hit learning this. We truly deserve everything that we have coming....
@@DareToEntertain yeah the snyder cut maybe more entertaining!!!!! but will it make it a better movie. the plot is what killed it for me. not saying im not entertained!!!! but i wish there was build up for this movie's plot!!! the villian should have been Darksied!!!!!!
I like the idea of darksied being that over looming threat. Building to the moment they fight. I’m just so happy we are gonna get another junkie Xl score tbh. Elfmans score was horrible
@@DareToEntertain yeah DC tried to copy the Marvel blueprint instead of letting out the beast known as "Darksied" it would have been a shock and would have garnerd more attention and they could made a justice league trilogy!!! Man DC messed up on this!!!! But yeah like the vids keep them coming!!!!!
I have watched all 15 movies serially within a week. To me, it didn't feel like there was no setup. It was set up throughout the 14 movies prior to this movie. Every small bits and pieces in the story were call back to all those movies. I watched this movie and could remember all the inner references to the movies. People may not like it as a single film because of the direction story took. But to call it a fan service, I think thats a stretch. Any way, Enjoyed the film. And everyone's opinion is different
Thanks for the respect comment. I think I have seen 9 or 10 of movies overall? Just wasn’t a fan. But yeah thanks for like actually watching the video and not just jumping to conclusions. Makes for better conversation
I'm with you on this one. I binged watched every movie from Flashpoint Paradox to Apokalips War and I can say I was satisfied. I definitely cannot say every character arc established from the previous films had a satisfying conclusion in this, I still had fun and I can say the overall ending pays off. I also do not mind that not everyone has heroic and dignifed deaths. Sometimes, it's just a quick death and that's it.
my only problem w/ this movie was that Batman didn't stop Superman from invading Apokalips in the first place. i mean a full on raid on Apokalips filled w/ parademons and Darkseid's high elite? and that was BEFORE i found out about the Doomsday/parademon hybrids and Cyborg being a "sleeper agent".
Thats why i think 4 min to set all that up was really really not the right call. Needed more time other then superman calling out people who wouldnt come.
If you watched the previous animated universe, Superman actually was fully capable of raiding Apokolips by himself. In Batman and Superman's defense, they had no counterplay against the Paradooms. Even if they have waited, Darkseid would have still arrived on Earth with that same Paradoom army and they'll still be defenseless. The only benefit that the attack had was that they were able to damage Darkseid's machine. Had they stayed on Earth, it would have been active and Darkseid's plan wouldn't have been delayed.
Yeah that movie had nothing to do with super heroes. It was just blood guts death. Terrible. Nothing heroic happens. Stupid. They just wanted cool fight scenes.
@@DareToEntertain I was wish I was wrong watching this movie the entire time. That is wasn't just going to be gore filled mess that just got a hard reset. When I didn't see Flash die, I knew then what exactly what was going to happen. Yes the Voice work was great and the stuff with Raven, Damian, and Superman was fine, but how can I care when I know it's all going to be undone? I've seen the RT score, but darn it, even Endgame still had consequences that mattered.
What i find it bullshit is why everyone was defeded by those parademons doomsday clone but later in the movie suddenly the heroes are defeting them just like that?Harley had no ploblem killed those parademon off.
to me, I understand why they skipped the Justice league losing to darkseid. the story was about how they eventually won. you're the type of person who before we see the Superman movie says "well I wish we got to see the death of krypton". lol the story isn't about that. lol
my main issue with this shit is the ending, all the sacrifices are practically meaningless as Flash do a fucking reset on the continuity...what the fuck?! so anytime DC fuck up their timeline, just fucking ask Flash to go fast again? can't wait for another Flashpoint to collide with another Flashpoint from another universe and fucking implode DCEU inside out.
I question myself to why this movie needed to exist. I felt the universe could of kept going. I really liked the characters and we get Starfire and Nightwing together 😢. I got introduced to Damian here. I feel like murdering everyone and turning them into mindless monsters was just horrible, I really cared about them. For them to just flush away years of worldbuilding and character building is such a shame. RIP.
Yea they fumbled the ball on this one. Batman is a master tactician very strategic and just like yea sure Superman we are gonna attack head on with no idea what we are about to face. And they don’t use any build up for the first fight scene. It’s just over and then scenes later everyone’s dead and their body parts all over the place. Some of the fight scenes were cool. But it just didn’t make sense how they went in blind to fight. When Darkseid had attacked other planets. What they did 0 reconnaissance? The fight scenes could have been better. These are super strong beings. Let’s see bunch of shit blow up. At the end they fought in like a 50 foot radius it felt like. And to end it with another flash point was kinda stupid. But what really pissed me off is Constantine is the X of king shark? Like wtf they had to throw in some some nonsense something
It was an insane effort and I commend DC and WB for like the 3 or 4th time they have done a animated cinematic universe to its completion and be somewhat good or outstanding for most of it. DCAU is king though
Have you seen this movie? please let me know down here! Also this video went through hell to just get it up, if peeps can share it around that would be awesome!
i loved the artstyle of these movies... john constantine was my favourite and the voice-actor was good too... dunno if the successor series will portrait him as well as he was
Did they really need another big time event that leads into another Flashpoint ? I think more fluff is needed between big time events in animated movies like this . Parademons with doomsday dna to mutate them is a little much too .
Exactly, like 2 doomsday’s would of been worse then a million of those things. Sure they can run away quicker but 1 doomsday basically nearly accomplished this
Though not the best execution, I do like storylines where everything seems so hopeless and a bunch of heroes are reduced to nothing after long histories of saving the day. Spider-Man 2 when he loses his powers was pretty heart breaking. The episode "Failsafe" from Young Justice was a good example of this. Batman v. Superman could've been better if the movie made the audience believe Superman wasn't coming back.
I absolutely despise how they treated Raven in this movie, so we're gonna ignore that she entered a dimension in jl vs tt 2016 where her father couldn't see her! Why didn't she go there with Superman? If Trigon can't see them then Darkseid can't.problem solved but no the writers are sto stupid. This movie so pathetic.
It was just edgy garbage with no substance. All of the deaths? Meaningless, pure fodder to show gore for no reason, and they even make no sense considering how the power levels work in the movie, and the plot, goddamn, thay was some pure crap

Dc doesn't respect shazam in the movies so obviously they were gonna kill him
What really bugs me in this movie is that there are so much death, gore and blood that is installed for shock and despair factor it seemed that some characters are only in this movie just to die brutally.
other characters die gruesome deaths but on the other hand I fail to connect with them deeply because they are not given enough character development and build up.
What I really hated in this movie was Darkseid's motivations on Earth like seriously collecting lava and magma?!!! The real Darkseid went to Earth because he thought that the anti-life equation was hidden there.

I’m totally with you man, but 20 dislikes on this video says we are in the minority my friend. This has been my most controversial video by far.
DC animated movies have always been like this but i thing now they are over doing the edgy thing now with no purpose like they used to.
🤔🤔🤔🤨 That always comes off as odd to me
If that was your problem then you need help , batman and Diana literally agreed and even joined clark as he was telling everyone what to do,the main reason they failed is because darkseid knew..and FFS if bats or lex is sooo smart for more than 5 years wouldn't they have thought of darkseid being able to access cyborgs body
This opinion is just stupid and based on the fact you hate superman

Sheep. You hate a movie you’ve never seen. You are what’s wrong with society.
@UC8JixCJsqqFJul-pMdrmi4w If you're gonna throw out insults, you may wanna look up what they mean first. Otherwise the irony of your usage of it could make you seem like a fucking dumbass
This movie was a hilarious disaster, the moment Superman said we're taking the fight to Darkseid, I knew it was gonna be some dumb shit
Right,he's not the strategist
King Shark & Constantine got it on also wtf
Well one thing they could of done was leave JOHN home. He went to a place of fire and that is ultimate weakness
I didn't like it and haven't cared for any movies in this JL War continuity. This movie itself was basically just heroes brutally beating each other with fan service.
That’s basically it in a nutshell
@ except Marvel took the time to at least explain the whole story in 2 movies.
Bingo
shadownight 2000
Dark war copied a lot of stuff from endgame
1. They both lose
2. Both have Time jumps
3. Both have One character blaming themselves and are depressed and still trying to find a way to fixed things
4. Both have One character scared to fight the enemy
5. Both have One character blaming another character
6. Both have Characters thinking of a plan
7. Both have One character going ninja
8. Both have their Universes to join the fight
9. Both have one flying character save the day
10. Both have one character mad about losing a loved one
11: both have used to be villains beating the main villains
12 :both evil family members
shadownight 2000 u know it’s true tho dark war is a copy also flash did time travel I’ll add that to the list I put the one who is scared to fight the enemy because tony and Constantine are basically almost the same lol it’s actually funny how much they copied and no one noticed and I don’t care about the ratings
Lord Solarus the JLA members didn't have kryptonite, the humans did.

He literally never spoke once, I remember checking just to see if he did. 😂
My main problem is they introduce characters only to kill them off brutally I.e Superboy and Batgirl (who NEVER got any character or screen time except one scene unless we're counting Batman: Hush and they was barely 5 minutes)
I’m surprised you didn’t talk about the terrible 3D animation they used for the paradooms. Seeing them move at 3 frames just made me laugh
I had a huge section cut about that lol, this videos initial length was double what it was. But that seemed a little much. Holy hell that 3D was rough
Yeh man, seriously disappointing. Oh well man of tomorrow comes out soon and looks alright
@@DareToEntertain i hope that in the man of tomorrow universe of movies the flash will be the one from the 52, it would be nice to see at least some connection to the past movies
I’m even more disappointed that they just pushed the reset button. Like what was the point of this movie if you’re just gonna push the reset button?
Also, they chose to attack then, because Darkseid was on Oa. The continuity fell apart in several other places, but that part mde sense.
why Is the death stroke movie more heart warming than the justice league movie?
(As does, like, the same exact characters from previous movies do)
I'm with you on this one- this film was sociopathic.

19:20 Lois said the following:
“those reapers landed weeks prior”
“My source told me there will be 3 sent”
And Batman worked for darkseid so I’m pretty sure he already knew how much they had take from the earth.

This IS DC's Ultimatum! By the time Superman comes back there's practically no one left to save.

And? I still feel the same as Dare to Entertain on this.
“You came to kill me”
“Yes”
“But you aren’t going to with wallers device”
“Yes”
The scene is so short and emotional. Batman has a no killing rule and he’s so... idk. Stuff like that really hits home. He holds her hand till it’s time to kill her.
Dare To Entertain, I agree but I wouldn’t call it dark as it’s just showing Batman’s moral code, these movies on the other hand 😳
Ib10 oh yeah it is very different to the modern films like characters being able eaten alive. Just commenting on that darker themes handled with more care can be done brilliantly. And that was particularly a favourite of mine
Dare To Entertain very true
Dogshit: Dissapointment
I'm too lazy to read
Why not leave SUperboy alive.
I hate the Martha scene in this movie. Instead of Bruce flashing back to his parents' deaths for the 15000th time, what would've been really gripping would be a short flashback through some of Bruce's key moments with his son.
It was painful watching the character deaths and “now we’re evil” moments. And by painful, I mean it’s bad. Very bad.
The perfect comment, thanks heaps I’m so happy you enjoyed the film man
Finally somebody understands that not every death of an important character needs to be a 5 minute fight scene.
You're a monster 😭
The Lord of Chaos I agree but it also had so much more potential
Trigon cannot touch the real Darkseid. And I didn't care about their fight in a slightest.
@@TheN1ghtwalker Darkseid can eliminate him in a moment
Movies with plot armor: people complain about plot armor
Plot armor gets taken out: people complain
Me: *visible confusion*
Hmmmm think its a little more complex then that mate
@@DareToEntertain i think you’re both right tbh. They took the plot armor off completely for some parts, but then randomly padded other characters with so much padding that they might have suffocated in others.
Cough cough (Damien? Imo with Raven. Wtf?)
I dont have issues with characters dying. I absolutely love the 1986 transformers movie and it kills literally the entire cast of the first 2 seasons basically. But this felt mindless and just bleh. It didnt feel earned. Characters just get their neck snapped or randomly tapped by an off screen badie
@@DareToEntertain ay another tf fan! Fuck rodimus tho amirite?????

@@PromusKaa PREACH! I truly don’t understand how people call this their favorite movie. And don’t get me started on that cheap ending.
@@The95thZebra Thanks for being a reminder that I'm not the only one who passionately hates this hideous excuse for a film!! Seeing positive comments about this movie utterly baffles (and frustrates) me as well!!
@@PromusKaa Same here, my guy!
I really wanna know how superman got injected with fking kryptonite for 2 whole years without it killing him, based on what they've portrayed about kryptonite it's basically suppose to kill a kryptonian even over a distance when there's a long time of exposure to it...but as usual dc must always scrap their previous logic for plot convenience
And then flash been running for 2 years, and immediately after that..no rest, no food...and just starts running for 2 seconds and breaks the time barrier🤦🤦, this is why dc will never be as successful as Marvel.
Mephisto: Go Ahed Mr. JOSTUR.
The superman one makes sense because kryptonite doesn't kill him it weakens him completely nearly to the state of an average man
Yeah no I despise this movie with a passion lmao
So fucking grimdark and *miserable*
They ruined raven
I feel like this is history repeating itself...
back in the 90ies, when Azrael became batman, this was done to show readers how horrible of an idea it was and the fans went "yeaaaaahhhh" and the authors went "noooooo...."
and I feel this is the same thing....
I believe the writers wanted to show the edgelord Snyder-simps how horrible of a take this is, and in the end it gets 90% on rotten tomatoes??
My fate in humanity took another critical hit learning this. We truly deserve everything that we have coming....
I agree!!!! This movie is a grand disaster!!!!
but hey- WE HAVE THE SNYDER CUT COMIN BOI
Damian Wayne’s arc is the best in this film so I dont think its an unpopular opinion.
Honestly, this movie was very disappointing, as was Endgame. That movie was also a disappointing mess. Both had very poor and lazy writing
my only problem w/ this movie was that Batman didn't stop Superman from invading Apokalips in the first place. i mean a full on raid on Apokalips filled w/ parademons and Darkseid's high elite? and that was BEFORE i found out about the Doomsday/parademon hybrids and Cyborg being a "sleeper agent".
Browntable was right, this was basically the story of Marvel's Ultimatum.
Browntable and I very much agree on this films quality
@@DareToEntertain I was wish I was wrong watching this movie the entire time. That is wasn't just going to be gore filled mess that just got a hard reset. When I didn't see Flash die, I knew then what exactly what was going to happen. Yes the Voice work was great and the stuff with Raven, Damian, and Superman was fine, but how can I care when I know it's all going to be undone? I've seen the RT score, but darn it, even Endgame still had consequences that mattered.
Certainly seems to be abit of a mess
thanks for the comment man, and yeah just all over the place
Cap
What i find it bullshit is why everyone was defeded by those parademons doomsday clone but later in the movie suddenly the heroes are defeting them just like that?Harley had no ploblem killed those parademon off.
That movie is a disgrace to the Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.
Sups just killed all of the Doomsday clones with his eyes.
Did you pay attention..they had kryptonite infused weapons
to me, I understand why they skipped the Justice league losing to darkseid. the story was about how they eventually won. you're the type of person who before we see the Superman movie says "well I wish we got to see the death of krypton". lol the story isn't about that. lol
They got killed way too easy. As if they fought villains that easy
my main issue with this shit is the ending, all the sacrifices are practically meaningless as Flash do a fucking reset on the continuity...what the fuck?! so anytime DC fuck up their timeline, just fucking ask Flash to go fast again?
can't wait for another Flashpoint to collide with another Flashpoint from another universe and fucking implode DCEU inside out.
It’s such a scapegoat. Like it means the hero’s can never truely lose, because Barry can teach the other speeders or something idk. Just really cheap
Like wtf they had to throw in some some nonsense something
the teen titans didnt join the league in the attack they stayed on earth
I wish they had a little bit better continuity through the movies they're amazing as they are but they could have been that much better
It was an insane effort and I commend DC and WB for like the 3 or 4th time they have done a animated cinematic universe to its completion and be somewhat good or outstanding for most of it. DCAU is king though
Of Those four Batman movies, 3 were basically Damian movies and The fourth(Hush) was a horrible adaptation
Have you seen this movie? please let me know down here! Also this video went through hell to just get it up, if peeps can share it around that would be awesome!

Watched it after reading Darkseid War. And I can't believe how much better the latter is. And it's not even that good of a story.
i loved the artstyle of these movies... john constantine was my favourite and the voice-actor was good too... dunno if the successor series will portrait him as well as he was
Really no idea when he may even Star in one of these movies again. Might shift focus onto other hero’s unfortunately
Raven was my favorite teen titan, and the voice actresses was good too.
shazam was litterally the onlu one who made getting game ended by actual fodder look cool
Did they really need another big time event that leads into another Flashpoint ? I think more fluff is needed between big time events in animated movies like this . Parademons with doomsday dna to mutate them is a little much too .
Completely agree man
@@DareToEntertain I know who can killed the Paradooms and Doomsday easily. Jiren, Goku,Hit,Vegeta, Android 17,18 and Beerus.
Its hard to look at a justice league movie thats rated R...I MEAN ITS A JUSTICE LEAGUE MOVIE THEY KILLED OFF OUR BELOVED HEROES FOR NO REASON!
This movie is just like a fan fiction of a 17 yo edgy DC fanboy
Hoàng Du Trần literally, friends from high school have written better scripts then this one
Wat I don’t get is that Darkseid made 1 doomsday in DOS which took out the whole JL.Why would he mix DD wit perademons to make him weaker
Comparing this to Ultimatum is just.... perfect.
The one thing I thought was good: Superman. Flawed, but not in Zack Snyder's childish way. He still wants to help people.
Superman was very good in this movie. Fav part for him was with raven at the teen titans headquarters. Really good stuff
It was just edgy garbage with no substance. All of the deaths? Meaningless, pure fodder to show gore for no reason, and they even make no sense considering how the power levels work in the movie, and the plot, goddamn, thay was some pure crap
