I just finished Arkham Knight and I’ve got to say… Arkham Knight is the canon ending and Suicide Squad is just an else world story similar to the Arkhamverse.

So weird how Deadshot was beefing with Green Lantern, instead of, y’know, Batman, the hero who constantly goes up against Deadshot as is seen in the Arkham games (not even going to touch that Deadshot is now black despite being white in this verse), but it really felt like they shoehorned in this “rivalry” because they needed the 3 human suicide shark members to be beefing with a justice league member, and they didn’t want Deadshot and Harley to share Batman even though they’re both his rogues.

If my understanding of the lore is correct, she did not JUST kill or aid in killing dozens, she aided in the torture of Jason Todd - a child -, and is a large part of why he even named himself The Arkham Knight. If you pay attention at the end of Arkham Knight’s credits, none of those names are in the Suicide Squad’s. They didn’t create this, some newbies that think they know what they’re doing made this mess. Disrespect X 1,000,000 to the Batman that inspired me to put on the suit at night.

I think the second biggest problem other than how the suicide squad killed the justice league was how they were portrayed. They were portrayed as protagonists and in the right and not as villains because the writers don't think people wanna play as villains.
Manhunt, Lucius, Overlord, Destroy All Humans, The Monster, Spec Ops: The Line, half of Ultimate Spiderman. These are all games where you undeniably play a bad person and have no choice yet are good games without even mentioning games like Undertale where you have a choice. We're playing a game as villains so let us play villains don't try and paint them as in the right.

Honestly, Captain Boomerang was the only one who was genuinely villainous. Through most of the game he’s shown to be a jackass-scumbag through and through. Short sighted, un-remorseful, greedy. He’s literally an Arkham Thug given speed powers. I would’ve kept him the same and changed the others to be evil in their own ways to really give the each character their own flavor of bad guy.

Don't forget, this Harley took part in the drugging, torturing disfiguring, attempting to murder and naming Jason the Arkham Knight (sending him out to kill his father or die trying).
Drugged and overdosed a 5 year old girl after extorting her dad and her for money and ideas to build an entire themepark hide out for Joker.
Showed no remorse when she thought she'd killed Tim Drake (as well as still showing no sympathy when its implied his mentor murdered him in this game)
She also took part in Jokers plan of kidnapping toddlers, killing them, sowing them together and sending them back "in one piece" with Joker.
Arkham Harley was never threated quite as badly as comics harley was, and she was always a lot more proactive and dark in Arkham than she was in the comics and tv show.
Basically only the BTAS Harley really seemed to be a good person at heart, someone capable of being redeemed. This Harley was always a monster and a bimbo. I bet she slept her way through her degree because Joker barely had to try to get her wrapped around his finger. Most other verisons had to be tricked and slowly lead into that world. This one ran in with both eyes wide open and set out to do even worse when Joker died.
She is the last person to be lecturering Batman. Bruce hurt people, but he always cared. He locked Tim up to keep him safe, and when he found out Jason was alive he stopped trying to attack him entirely, instead ripping Arkham armor off him and trying to talk his son down, apologising to him. Even telling Dick he was proud of him before he left. And saying goodbye to Selina

Seeing how good rockstedy did with Batman and seeing the contingency plans ... would have been pretty nice to get "Batman: Save The Justice League" Could have even had it so depending on who you save from mind control determins who becomes available to help for future fights, keep it single player, expand the roster, add dlc where you play as the other characters like Arkham Knight and if you really want to wrap up the batman games, have him die saving Superman in some really sad way, like Superman manages to kill him seconds before the mind control breaks and the credits can be the Justice League paying homage to him for his sacrifice, there proper send off.
Who thinks it wouldn't be cool to play as a Batman that puts his contigency plans in effect.
Watch them revive the heroes in next seasons and be like "see there was more story! We respect the heroes!"
It's apparently been leaked that that's exactly what they're doing. As the seasons progress and more Brainiacs are defeated, the surviving 4 members of the Justice League are gradually rescued (the exception being Wonder Woman so I'd probably expect an Elseworlds version of her like with that poor excuse of a Joker).
But considering how awful the game is and how badly it's performing commercially, it's too little, too late at this point anyway I'd imagine.
It would make sense, given the DNA manipulation they used as an excuse on Superman to explain why kryptonite doesn't work on him, that the DNA manipulation would have also made him lose his super powers. Superman lore says not only that kryptonite harms him, but also that the yellow sun that Earth rotates around that gives him his powers are because of his DNA as a Kryptonian. Any change in his DNA would fuck with his powers very badly, and it makes sense that manipulating the part that gives him his weakness would disrupt his strength, because they are directly linked. However, that would require doing any kind of research into Superman, which given the end result of this game, they did none.

If it HAD to have been an Arkham tie in, it should have started you being the Justice League, then getting taken over by Brainiac and then mid game you take over as Batman he deemed it necessary to come out of hiding since it is a global threat and free the Justice League. He implements his plans from JL Doom and he frees everyone. Superman could be the last one freed, for obvious reasons, and Batman dies in the process. JL makes him a posthumous member of the League.
Boom, better story, and a fitting send-off.

Keep in mind orgins was made by a completely different studio Montreal, and they even managed to make a great game that some fans call their favorite today. Back then alot of folks cared about the games they were making, not so much anymore.
Origins had a very solid story. Great character arks for Batman, Alfred, Jim Gordon, even Joker.

Dude I would love that idea so much, but I kinda lost hope on that last part, because I doubt they’d let Red Hood lay a single hair on Harley. Hareky is like DC’s sweet child that never does anything wrong now, I doubt they’d show it on screen of Red Hood shooting her in the face. If anything I bet they’d just make a cutscene where RH spared her because she said sorry, and then she blames joker for her awful actions.
They should’ve just stucked with Batman in the story and went with adaptation of Batman’s contingency plan for each justice league member. With that they would’ve had better boss battles with each justice league member
Gotham Knights deserves an apology. That game i love it and it wasn't perfect but it respected the characters and tried so hard to send Batman off in a respectful way. There aren't any microtransactions in that game except for one costume pack. Fuck Suicide Squad

It could be points/ currency to unlock gear or skills from Titans Tower etc. 2 Gear characters and 3 power skill characters. For example a better bow staff for Robin or Electric Disk variants, OG Titans gear from the cartoon, etc.
Robin would be traditional Arkham gameplay, Cyborg is the "shooter" with shields, Starfire is essentially Iron Man from the Avengers game, Raven is the healer/hammer. You hit big but massive recharge time, Beast Boy could be useful for groups of enemies. Etc.

They could've easily saved this game in two steps:
1. It's not the real Justice League. Brainiac captured them and it took time to perfect their clones which don't have all of their powers just yet due to him still deciphering their DNA. So none of them are as strong as the real Justice League. It would also set up DLC or a sequel called The Suicide Squad Saves The Justice League.
2. MAKE THIS GAME IN ANY UNIVERSE BUT THE ARKHAM ONE.
Kevin Conroy’s Batman meant so much to me as a child and teenager. Seeing your hero be disrespected, especially right after his death is so awful. This game deserves its failure.
It would have made the most sense for Batman to work with the SS squad to fight the Justice League given he has contingency plan for this very situation.
SS Squad? ... The Suicide Squad... Squad? I think maybe calling it the SS Squad doesn't work so well. It actually kind of sounds like a certain Schutzstaffel protection Squad, don't you think anyway oh well LOL

One thing i give them credit for are the voice actors, they really nail their roles well! they even managed to make Green Lantern this carismatic powerhouse, only to kill him and disrespect him
Harley was done right *before* she was overrated and extremely popular.
During her first debut, Harley managed to kidnap Batman. A younger Bruce, who was *not* the overpowered version that can kill anyone with prep time. She managed something Joker nor any other villain with the exception of Bane could've done alone.
She was smart, She was fast, but she simply wasnt a good fighter and obsession over Joker led to her demise. THAT Harley was fun to watch. Her sister-like relationship with Ivy was new and fun as well.
I dont know when it exactly happened but between DC Unlimited and Injustice, Harleys popularity skyrocketed alongside Batmans. Suddenly we got Batman who can 1 v 1 Superman in multiple iterations, Joker who can single handedly beat the legion of doom and hold his ground against Batman. Harley, who'm killed people for Joker in the past in every single version of her, suddenly was redeemed and broke up with Joker multiple times in every different story.
The first time it was done was interesting. We saw an older Harley married to Bruce to keep his identity secret but eventually grew out of her obsession over Joker after being around Batman long enough.. Not everybody liked the idea but it was a good take.
Then we got Injustice Harley, who is for all intents and purposes in a upside down universe where heroes are bad and villains are more reasonable.
Then we got new comics and shows with Harley breaking up with Joker to do her own thing. Suddenly she can fight really well, well enough to be in a spec ops squad that goes against trained mercs, other spec ops operatives, monsters etc.
To everyone in the comments of this video and others who constantly say "oh your complaining about the game being woke, it's so annoying, that automatically makes this a bad take." Here's something you might want to consider, considering WHAT IS IN THESE FREAKING GAMES THAT YOU KEEP EXCUSING, just because you find the anti-woke argument annoying that doesn't make it any less correct. In fact I'd argue that it traps you in a mental state where the "anti-woke lossers" are always right and you never listen.

Sweet Baby Inc reminds me of Q5, the focus group who ruined kids cartoons in the 80s. Two of the shows they completely ruined were Pound Puppies and Real Ghostbusters.
Ironically, after ruining these shows and angering the fans and viewers, Q5 vanished into obscurity.
To this day, people are still very angry with Q5.
If you want to know what Q5 did to Real Ghostbusters, look up the vid "The Real Ghostbusters: The Bad episodes." Apparently Q5 were called in to "fix" the show even though there was nothing wrong with the show. It was awesome, it had 100% ratings, everyone loved it, no problems at all, then after Q5 tampered with it, the ratings dropped and it fell apart.
My guess is that Q5 found nothing wrong with the show, so rather than say "looks great, keep it up", they decided to "find" something wrong that wasn't there.
As soon as Green Lantern went rogue. The ring would have shot off, and a squad from OA would have been sent to rest him and find Brainiac and the whole corp would be assembled and assaulting him.

The newer Suicide Squad movie has them fight against Starro... instead of this, fighting the Justice Leauge, it could have been just that here as well, and then it could have been a fun crazy, chaotic, brutal counterpart to Gotham Knight's four-hero but sneaky, infiltration and melee themed premise.

That said, the only good thing about this title is the fact that I can play this Batman model in Arkham Knight.
The concept of one Justice League member trying to save the rest would make so much more sense, and if they made it into a single player
