I am definitely getting a super - just don't know which one. Can't wait for the first real reviews and the first through the lens videos! I hope the 135' lenses are good and not a Desaster like the crystal wide fov lenses. 50 PPD should be plenty enough to be "happy like a Peppi" 😊
Now you can order 135 FOV. I ordered mine with 120 FOV because there was no choice at first, but I asked for a change from the sales website chat and changed it to 135 FOV.

I am getting 136°h and 110°v fov with my Somnium vr1. I changed the stock facial foam to a htc 6mm PU- leather facial foam and holy cow this made a difference 🤯 Couldn't be more happy with my Somnium vr1. The quality control and the lenses are absolutely incredible . Light-years better than pimax crystal . I tried them both and vr1 is a no brainer

Oh mate I'm sorry to hear this. I actually have a new found hope and positive outlook for Pimax. With there new PR and management team our voices can be heard. Have you watched Mark's latest video from 'Get Your Game On' well worth the watch. Direct contact with the head of PR is possible if your not happy and getting lost in the Matrix. He gives a good example of why things might have slipped through the cracks. Let me know if you have not seen his channel and I'll link you there.
Same, canceled crystal light and super order due to the horrible customer service. The initial launch of the super orders and lack of clear information is not a good look.

Some initial software issues but the software is solid these days and my Crystal Light works everytime. I had the XR4 when it came out now that was an AWFUL launch terrible software. Pimax actually beat Vario on this which is sad.

Love my Light so much I bought the new Super outright soon as I got the offer. And don't fall for this outright. Massive hit campaign against pi max, going on now. Its by some big, deep pocket competition.I'm sure you know the brand. In Truth, Pimax has some incredible technology at a price most people can afford. For the money there is no competition.
One question that I do have is: I've already got a Crystal Light VR headset (which I want to keep) and I have its software that makes it work installed on my beast-of-a-PC. If I do decide to buy the Super, will I be able to install the software that comes for it and will that software be able to co-exist with the Crystal Light software on the same PC or will I have to buy a whole new PC for it? I would like to be able to use either the Crystal Light or the Super on the same PC, when I feel like it!
Good questions mate, I think the Pimax Crystal Super will be the same as all the other headsets, You will hopefully just use Pimax Play software that you have currently. You will not have to worry about different software to manage to two headsets, it should all just be with that one solutions installed.

I want to pre-order the super and had my reservation for it, but damn reading these all comments on RUclips it stops me to do it. There are so many issues and many complaint about their longevity as well. Which is important for me since I buy a vr headset for 4-5 years.

No display port 2.1 means you will only see those 50-57ppd in titles with quad view foveated rendering which means 5-7 games . Like dcs , kayak mirrage and Pavlov and vail . For regular games like half-life alyx it will run with 35 ppd so there wont be much benefit to other 35 ppd headsets like somnium vr1

Only when the game support quad view foveated rendering like dcs for example then the xr4 wins interms of clarity and sharpness vs the vr1 . Same case will probably be with the pimax crystal super
I have the index and the cable has been an absolute nightmare. I'm waiting to see what steam releases as a successor to the index, so for me its either quest 3 or wharwvwr valve puts out, as i want wireless and standalone and passthrough that is good enough that i can walk around without taking the headset off
Yea mate the cable can be a reminder pain on any headset. I run a cable management system for my Crystal Light that honestly works brilliant. Granted for my stand-up VR I then switch to my Quest 3. The best of both worlds. I feel your pain though. Thanks for watching mate.

A 120-degree FOV for the Pimax Crystal Super is not worth it. I'm using the Pimax 8KX and my FOV at the normal setting is around 160 degrees. A VR headset should be at least 170 degrees FOV.

Original Crystal with 35pp lense is amazingly sharp so why can't they go with 35ppd with Super so we can get even bigger fov. 57ppd is pointless unless i got a microscope built in my eyes.

I just wonder if 35PPD stretched over 180FOV is either unobtainable on current QLED panels at a reasonable price, or it would significantly impact visuals, the pixels would be more speed out and looks like the old 8KX days? Also also.. is the fact that you can cut the price almost in half is helping to lower the taxes you pay? My preorder is £811 plus tax which is about 160... would be much more if the headset was 1600 which is what it works out to roughly
@@gizmo104drives7 Yea not sure on that but I'll do what I can to find out and clarify. What I can confirm is the current Crystal Light im using only gets around 98-100 FOV horizontal, so 120 is a reasonable bump. I miss the 8KX FOV days though that's for sure.
Mate you are absolutely bang on with that statement. There is passthrough on the Crystal but it's pretty terrible LOL. I'm curious to see if the super gets a bump but I doubt it will be much if anything.

You should note that if you return a Pimax Crystal Super for refund after 10 days you do not get the Pimax Prime 'membership' refunded, even if you paid it upfront. Pimax intends to keep Pimax Prime as an ongoing software maintenance program. Need to factor that in the long term cost of your headset.
They state in the F&Q that after the 24month you own the headset and there is nothing more to pay. I have not read anywhere that you have to keep paying for the features.
If you pay in full and return the headset within the return window, you will receive a full refund. Additionally, after 24 months, you will no longer be required to make any payments.
Pimax not having an option to just buy the super outright is a terrible idea. The fact that they want to sell it with a financial kill switch, says to me that they actually expect people who cant afford it to buy it. Disgraceful business practice

I have owned 3 Pimax Headsets now. Only issues I had was with a cable on my 8KX, new cable fixed it. 8K, 8KX & Crystal Light.

No word yet, I'll see what I can find out. Might be worth another quick video if it's anything worth talking about.
The passthrough will be similar to the earlier Crystal model, but we are currently working on the MR faceplate.

The 57ppd has similar FOV numbers.
