Not only did the kid want to kill himself which already would devastate any parent, but he did it in the most horrific way possible. Now his parents had to watch him bleed out in their front yard and likely blame the police for it when they had no choice but to respond to the threat of a gun. This was an awful situation all around that could have been prevented with counseling and thinking about the effect your suicide will have on others.
He probably did think about the effects and decided to hurt his parents for whatever reason by bleeding out in front of their house
better than shitting ur pants overdosing just my opinion
I am quite sure this is not "the most horrific way possible" to kill yourself.
I can think of at least a dozen much worse ways off the top of my head.
@@godwintalking4724 I understand how it feels, keep strong and everyday is another chance to change 🤞
@@rodneylim6188 I feel like that’s a far fetched assumption. Truthfully I think he thought he’d die right away when he got shot a few times. I don’t think he went into the thought process of what would and could happen and the pain it’ll cause others around him. Do you really think someone who points any type of weapon at a cop let alone a child knows what they are doing?
It's hard to see, feel so sad for the young man that choose to die young.
As a parent myself I can't imagine how his parent had to endure this difficult time losing their beloved son.
What a horrific thing to go through for everyone involved. I can’t imagine how devastating something like this would be
feel extremely terrible for the parents, especially mom, I can't even how difficult it is to see someone who you brought to this World, who was in your womb for 9 months, lay down on the ground.. dying but you can't even go near him and put his head on your lap... that's sad. But the kid did this to himself and his mom.
Absolute tragedy

So sad that the police officers are being dragged through the agony of having killed a suicidal teen. This is an even bigger tragedy for the parents. All in all a bad outcome.
@@OBWInspector listen man, these are people too. The family could be lying and the father could seek revenge on the officers. It happens. You also can here many small comments made by the officers after the shooting, knowing they are in a sad situation…listen at 3:31
@@OBWInspector Who knows if the family may pull out a gun, who knows if the family tries to get ahold of the rifle (Which was actually an airsoft gun,) and use it against him. There are so many hypotheticals that could happen. If your also talking about when the parents popped up behind them, who knows if one of them was trying to get a shot off from behind. It's best to always be prepared.
Sad part is.. he didn't have to die. The cops purposely let him die instead of rendering aid or letting someone else save him. They just stand there and watch him bleed out.
Naa. I don’t think any police have even a bit remorse.

Count the shots and listen to the clicks !!! Watch both point of views ! How could the partner possibly cover his partner back ! That could’ve been so tragic had the people coming behind then been armed !!
Can't believe you missed the police officers unchambered firearm. You can hear the trigger pull at 2:21
It was also his first trigger pull
Yes for sure pulled the trigger and got click not a bang
Wow...guess you were there! It could have been a misfire, weapon may have been out of battery or maybe a draw from a retention holster caused a problem. Glad to hear from an armchair expert.

So sad for the Mother who just wanted to be with him in his final moments
2:22 surprised they didn't address the *CLICK* when the 2nd officer who was flagging his partner the whole time actually TRIED to shoot, and then failed in not chambering a round immediately
I was thinking the same thing.
I was waiting on them to address it but they never did.
I was about to leave same comment. Horrible situation for sure, but I heard that "click" also and was surprised they did not address.
Even after the click he never racked it. Officer needs retrained.
Hard to miss that click with nothing in the chamber, way beyond poor training!
Sad for everyone involved, especially that young mans family!!!!!
Right? I heard that too.

Forreal. If the family caught even a whiff of his intentions, they should have tried getting treatment for his mental health.
Not always
My buddy from college got his MBA in a year and was making six figures about four years out, was charismatic, athletic, father was a medical doctor, and he came from a good home. He took his life. Nobody could figure out why.

Unfortunately I think this is only going to increase... we have a serious mental health problem in this country
Indeed! Driven by decades of the liberal agendas 🤢☠️
We do. It's sad that there's still such a stigma for something that a majority of people suffer from. It's truly heartbreaking tbh
Honestly don’t know how this many people with such messed up heads. I know there surely are real scenarios that could cause such issues. But there are MANY people who are truly suffering out in the world. People living under actual dictators, those who do not have consistently food or water, little to no education or a chance to be something bigger in life. Oh, Heavens! Those poor parents! 😭💔😭
It's sad that the young man didn't give himself the chance to see a better day.
Thank you for analyzing this tragedy so professionally. No de-escalation in the world can answer something like this, which looked like an ambush before any communication was even possible. Yeah, you could question the caller as an operator, but with that you risk prolonging real deadly situations to a fatal point. And with how chaotic LA probably is, there's simply no time to check for any validity on the caller's claims. I will just assume that the operator tried to stay on a line with the caller but the caller hung up, because if the operator hung up themselves first and didn't try to further check the situation and maybe de-escalate before the unit arrived, there was something going wrong imho.
"Insight" I didn't notice it at first but I could tell something was off with how the title sounded.
Couldn't even hold his son, he must have felt miserable. Hopefully they can recover peacefully after that event.
It’s their fault they raised that kid to be that
Nobody can recover from this,
This one is tragic on every level, so sad for the family, the officers and the young man.
my god this is a horrible situation. praying for the family and the officers 😞
This police officer will have to live with this for the rest of his life. A terrible thing to be sure but he had zero options when the kid comes out with a rifle, airsoft or not.
Hopefully he realizes he did nothing wrong and he shouldn’t let this bring him down one bit. He did everything correct
@@thebluefus kudos to the officers, they don't get paid enough for this shit. Needs to be more investment in helping people with mental health issues, and also more funding for officers to train them to deal with this stuff and also counseling.
The kid was in distress but I wish these suicidal people would commit suicide privately instead of projecting their burden on others like cops.
Sometimes the cops also have to deal with hate and accusations from the family afterwards.

Hearing the parents broke my heart. I have never teared up for one of these but today I did.
I used to have a little air soft pistol. If I put it side by side with my Taurus G3C, they would look identical. You can't tell most air softs apart from real firearms.
There’s never enough emphasis on mental health. Please don’t be scared to talk to someone.
one part of the spectrum tells them theyre "pussies" or "weak" for being afraid or needing help. and the other part tells them "youre worthless and dangerous for being a man".. this is what we get.
Yep, and we need to end the stigma associated with it. It does not mean you are a weak person. But there are way bigger factors at play for young people. Many have lost hope, and believe that this world is an awful place to be. Sometimes it can be, but don't make a permanent decision because you have some terrible temporary circumstances.
@@mylesrobinson9822 There is always another way... I wish you peace my friend.
Sadly it's usually not that easy. I've had many girlfriends and friends alike turn me away and cut off ties because they, and i quote "Don't want to be around me because I'm too depressing and it's frustrating to be around". Luckily i was able to turn my self around on my own but it's a sad reality, those suicide hotlines don't do Jack shit, it's a person reading from a script and get paid to listen. Only real friends / partners / family can help, but most people don't want to deal with it. If people really want to help, when someone comes to YOU for help, that means they trust you, so just be there, otherwise they may not always be.
The problem with "talking to someone" is when it gets put on your medical record, now you have rights stripped from you because "you might be a risk."
⚠️ I think it would be a great idea to show some of these 'Toy'/Airsoft type replicas on your show so people will understand how real they can appear.
I agree with this. So many people don’t realize how similar they look to the real thing. And even if a gun does look like it’s an air soft gun, officers still can’t lower their guard. How easy would it be to spray paint the end of a real AR or pistol whatever type of gun with orange/red on the end of the barrel? Bad guys could do this to try and make officers lackadaisical to try and gain an advantage.
@Kyle Komarek Exactly. That's a reason I dislike all of the new bright colored firearms. It makes them look like toys. It's terrible for confusing children. It's kind of an opposite problem .
You shouldn’t have your life be in danger for a toy sold in stores

Not "insight", but "incite" Hello?!?
In a Demolition Ranch video Matt made a deal with his wife that if she correctly guessed which gun on the table was an airsoft he would get rid of all of his guns. Even with a ton of time looking at them she still got it wrong. Airsoft have become way to realistic looking and that needs to change.

Kid got what he wanted.
Suicide by cops is getting common....dude chose his fate
Can’t even imagine being a cop in that situation.
The cops that go through this should be able to sue that person if they live through it.
They would've, he is actually able to if the person lives through it, as well as people who are suicidal either with weapons or by throwing themselves from a building or something, if they don't get killed, they are getting sued and paying fines or even jail.
Agreed...but that will not erase the mental damage done to the officer, taking a life and then second guessing your response is a trauma that you have to live with for the rest of your life.
Sue the teen that’s already suicidal. Sounds like the stupid system but won’t fix any issues at hand
@@sirdan1287 well the kid is literally making the officers kill him because they don’t know the gun is fake, so yea if the kid lived he should be sued for having to cause both the parents and officers mental problems they have to live with, if the kid survived he for sure would’ve wished he was dead

A big reason a person doesn't reach out, and ends up consumed by hopelessness is because of the toxic positivity bullshit people spew. You can't support anyone by saying "Its not so bad, everyone goes through this...(etc)". This stuff often makes someone think that their feelings don't mean jack, furthering the hopelessness feeling. Now this may not have anything to do with the video, but I felt it was a message I wanted to get across for anyone who has someone in their life who is going through a difficult time. This whole situation is truly depressing.

Love this channel lots of great information for you average citizens also
Seasoned officer. You can tell by the way he took time in between shots. He was making sure to hit target & nothing else. Often they go full out & empty the magazine on a suspect.
I feel for the officers having been put in the position of having to defend against someone with what certainly appears to be a rifle. Not a good situation.
i remember seeing this video a while ago. Crazy a 19 year old wants to go out like this.

HAHAHA HAHAHA the second officer's gun jammed 😅
Talking on the radio takes you out of the fight (and leaves your partner high and drive (paraphrase). Great truth by John and Mike.
Usually I agree but here his partner was literally in between him and the “bad guy” with no room to get around him really. I’m not saying he was right. But this situation is the least problematic for me as far as talking on the radio situations go.

John, respectfully, if the responding officer gets immobilized before making a radio call for help, help will definitely not be on the way. "Stay off the radio" doesn't really make sense if you think of every possible outcome.
Making another person kill you without their consent is just incredibly selfish. Doesn't matter if it's a police officer, train operator or whoever. They have to live with the image of you dying etched into their retina for the rest of their lives. Nobody deserves that.
