Fun fact: Negaduck never had a real name in the original series. So, the 2017 reboot not only gives Negaduck an origin story, but also an official real name Jim Starling!
I always assumed that he was the Drake Mallard of the Negaverse that Negaduck came from. edit: Just re-watched that episode, and his name was never confirmed. Only that he occupied Darkwing's / Drake's place in the Negaverse.
@@allantidgwell5624Yeah, but I meant a backstory of Negaduck. In the original series he’s only an evil version of Darkwing Duck and that’s it, no real name or backstory, just evil doppelgänger/clone!
"I'm not sure why the studio had a real lightning gun". Please, it's a movie with Dewey as the producer. Do you think that kid wouldn't pass up the chance to bring in a real lightning gun XD
This episode is actually even better than you're describing. Sterling and Launchpad's interactions are almost exactly how Negaduck and Launchpad's interactions went down in the original show. They weren't just foreshadowing his heel-turn with his unheroic actions, they were subtly telling us Sterling IS Negaduck. What's even more perfect is the tragedy behind this Negaduck aligns with the tragedies that befell many of the original Darkwing Duck villains.
It's a Darkwing Duck origin story in many more ways than just one. Everything about his character and his franchise had an origin point in this episode while keeping true to that franchise all the way through!
And apparently they cancelled it quick as hell. I honestly don't know what's on TV now, nor do I care. And them cancelling a decent show that I might have enjoyed is exactly why. Even with that weird ass fucking disgusting voice they got for Uncle Scrooge. At least you can say that it wasn't Quack Attack. Which is a compliment to any form of media. If there were no original voices used in the show, then I can see why this is anyone's favorite episode of the series. Hell, I started playing the Arkham series of games BECAUSE Mark Hammil and Kevin Conroy were in it. And I quit playing them when they quit. Once you've experienced perfection, fuck the new shit. The same can be said now for post Endgame MCU. All they're doing is trying to appeal to other audiences now that the core of the Avengers is gone. And thus they have completely turned me off of ever watching a Marvel Movie again. And I laugh in their god damn faces if they think I'm paying for their streaming services just to watch old shit. And oh my god, don't get me started on Matrix 4. EVERYONE was still alive and kicking. Hugo Weaving straight out said no because of something else he was doing, who gives a shit what it was. And they didn't even contact Laurence Fishburne. I'm gonna chalk up all those bad decisions that went into making the 4th movie as an insane eunuch director having a mental breakdown. I understand that some situations can't be avoided like actors or voice actors dying, but at the same time I don't give a shit if you try to move the IP forward without putting basic common sense into the mix. I paid for your shit in the past because I liked it. I'm not paying for your shit now because I don't like it. Simple as that.
One of the best parts of this twist is that it feels so in character for Darkwing to sneak into a movie about himself so he can replace the actor. Like that genuinely sounds like it could be an episode of the original show. Of course in the original show he would probably see the error of his ways by the end of the episode thanks to Gossalyn or Launchpad (which he kind of does before the explosion). I love one of DW's final lines in this. Launchpad : Gizmoduck does it. Darkwing: I am better than Gizmoduck. The delivery of that line was amazing and it showed that while the new Darkwing wasn't quite as proud as the old one he still has a bit of that trademark pride (and irrational hatred for Gizmoduck).
Breaking into a set for a chance at stardom is such a darkwing move, but then he just pivots when Drake is willing to help and when he's almost caught! They tease us so much with darkwing that we kinda brush off the negaduck attitudes when they pop up! The writers knew exactly what they were doing
DW had a film director villain in the former of the walrus, Tuskerninni. This absolutely could have been a premise for an episode revolving around him.
Yes, you get it! That's why it seemed like such a genuine Darkwing move even with the minor hints that something was wrong after the break-in. The plan to break in and the motivation to do so lined up with OG Darkwing's character, that we saw nothing wrong with it until the show threw us a curve ball and, turns out, it was him actually being more Negaduck-like hahaha. Such a clever twist.
something else i adore about this episode: Jim Cummings's subtle voice direction. If you really pay attention, Jim's voice starts off as the DW voice we all think of, loud, energetic, enthusiastic. But as the episode goes on, it slowly goes lower and lower, as well as getting gruffer and shaper, until that final scene, where he's fully tapped into that Nega-Duck voice. It's so brilliantly subtle, and i LOVE how it showcases Jim going off the deep end and embracing his villainous side. Also, using a chainsaw during the double darkling fight was a dead giveaway XD, Negaduck loves his chainsaws
Nothing worth anything in life comes easy or for free. Work hard to achieve your goals. I’m in the same boat, I’m working towards becoming a video game writer for almost the exact same reasons described in Shady’s video.
Ducktales 2017 was amazing. It’s genuinely sad that it ended prematurely rather than lasting a bit longer. I wanted more. The characters are all so good and lovable. I want that instead of the Seth Rogan Darkwing that is supposed to be coming out. Nothing would beat seeing THIS Launchpad, Darkwing, and Gosalyn adventuring again and getting more from the Ducktales extended family.
@@Ilikebugs2464 not bait sadly that person just holds a grudge towards ducktales for the webby-clone twist lmao. Fair enough, they're not doing anything wrong but replying the same nonsense to everyone in every ducktales comment sections is just sad Small unrelated rant here but I can't stand the vague "ducktales is shit compared to the orginal", garbage you inevitably find on any ducktales review. now THATS bait.
Honestly, if any show deserved to have four seasons, it was Ducktales 2017. Instead they gave that uber rare honor to Star VS the Forces of Evil and it unfortunately didn't use it as well as it could have. Ducktales would have used that extra season super well, guaranteed, and we'd probably have had an even stronger ending than we did if the F.O.W.L. plot line had extra time to develop. And of course we'd likely have seen more Negaduck and Daisy, as well. But honestly, they used their three seasons really well and made a solid story with a solid ending despite cutting their time short. Not many shows can do that.
Launchpad: “Drake Mallard. Never heard of you.” Wow, I had never realized the importance of that line before. Considering the release of that Velma trailer a few days ago, I’d say this video has very good timing. Notice how this episode makes fun of old fans, but doesn’t insult them.
Precisely, but not only that but the writers for Velma are clearly doing exactly what Shady said executives like to do with reboots which make them suck, it's being used to clearly push a pretentious or political message, AND has no connection or respect to the source material.
That's the thing. They're able to poke fun at the crazier fans, but they also handle things with respect, understanding that the small number of crazies aren't what define a fanbase, and you can't just disregard all criticism. The acknowledging that it's not perfect, but that the actor (who was a fan) wants to make it better. That's a bigger deal that people give it credit for.
It's even worse than we feared with Velma. They've designed the show to gain traction entirely on hatewatching. It's built from the ground up to appeal to nobody.
@@SaltpeterTaffy A second season greenlit after two episodes? No, it was pre-planned already. And it's quite likely they'll pull a He-Man and split one season into two.
Spoilers for the episode's ending: The way that Starling threatens Mallard with a chainsaw is a subtle bit of foreshadowing. I remember seeing at least one clip of Negaduck in the original show threatening a group of his fellow villains with a chainsaw. Pretty sure it's the same one even.
yeah I noticed that too, as soon I saw the chainsaw (and the crazy look on his face) I knew they where kinda going a negaduck route with him, still the ending was such a huge and epic surprise.
Trust me, the chainsaw was one of Negaducks main weapons. When I saw Jim pull out that chainsaw...i was like" is he going to be my Negaduck?" And sure enough I was like HELL YEAHHHHHH!!!!!
Just the chainsaw in general. It was one of Negaduck's go-to weapons (the other being bombs) and a way of showing how unhinged and vicious he was by using such a violent means. Whereas Darkwing, as a parody of Batman (and other similar heroes) only uses things like his gas gun, intimidation, and KUNG-FU ACTION that is more likely to subdue the badguys with a few bruises and broken bones (which two of the main four probably don't even have).
I just realized how ironic it is that the real life DuckTales show was cancelled before they could finish their Darkwing Duck arc the same way the Darkwing Duck show in the episode was cancelled before it could finish its arc.
Listen I'm 33 and idc I loved Ducktales & Darkwing Duck back in the day and still do. Even if this video doesnt do as well as some of your others, Im glad you're still talking about it because its somn very nostalgic to us. This reboot did so much right which is VERY RARE in reboots. You can tell the creators are genuine fans.
Ya best reboot out there aside from a few minor things I dint like to much its great and expanded on some duck lore with the mom and they even brought in the moon theme and the gum frigging awesome Altho original still superior Wish it was never canceled really wanted them to expand and make a duck verse with all the spinoffs they basically had pilots for like darkwing Was really really wanting a goof troop reboot like this one
The fact that Jim pulled out a chainsaw was foreshadowing for his transformation. Also weren't they planning a standalone Darkening reboot for this or next year.
There's a reboot planned, but not by the same team. The creators of Ducktales made a backdoor pilot in season 3 in hopes Disney would give them the job, but apparently they're moving on with someone else.
I do believe that it was a stealth pilot, the introduce a concept for a new show in an existing show with the budget of a full running show just to prove a point.
The "They want grim and gritty, huh? Happy to play the part" delivery was chilling. Like, by GOD was that good. Even though Dacktales is done, I'm still hoping they do something with Darkwing Duck in the future. I know there were talks of a Darkwing Duck spin off, but I'm not sure if it's still in production or what.
I was basically like you the whole episode, loving and praising Jim Starling's Darkwing voiced by Jim Cummings, and being adamantly against the "imposter" until it dawned on me, wait a second.... Jim's being a lot like Negaduck right now. *Oh no*. And the reveal that this "imposter" WAS Drake Mallard all along was so clever. And then, to top ALL OF THAT off, Jim Starling revealed to be the origin of Negaduck right when Darkwing becomes real too... to say I fangirled just like you is an understatement. That ending with both of those reveals ALONE is what elevated this show to become my #1 top show EVER, and it kept that honor for several years afterward.
I really like how this episode gave Drake and Launchpad a pseudo brother connection in this iteration. In the original series Launchpad was for intensive purpose a sidekick. Giving these two this bond over Darkwing gives their partnership an extra layer of connection that the original didn't have.
Honestly I would love it if you covered this series more, theres the other Darkwing Duck episodes, the times Donald really gets to shine, the redemption of Della Duck, etc., so many great episodes.
Hearing Drake say “I know the movie is not perfect but maybe I can make it better so another kid like me can be inspired too.” summed my feelings about Wonder Woman and her films. She was a huge inspiration to me growing up. A confident, strong woman who always fought with compassion and love. I knew the movie wasn’t perfect but Gal Gadot made it inspirational and I know she inspired other little girls like me.
I've never watched Darkwing Duck, I've only ever seen one or two episodes of the new Ducktales reboot (Woohoo!), but seeing Shady geek out and enthuse over everything that happens in this episode and explain in such loving depth WHY he loves it so much was just SO. FREAKING. ENJOYABLE. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing Shady analyze and critique, and I know that when he does it's usually out of a place of LOVE for the source material, but hearing him just go full fanboy enthusiastic and spend basically an entire video telling you why he's bursting with love and enthusiasm with this was WONDERFUL. Personally I'd love more videos like this.
If you liked this, and are interested in seeing a bit more of the show, I know there’s a sequel episode to this one that’s just based on Darkwing being an actual superhero. It’s called “Let’s Get Dangerous!”, and it should be here on RUclips free to watch in its entirety
Ducktales 2017 was an amazing reboot. it had heart, it respect the original series. and made so that both old and new fans can enjoy it. wish they would do this more often when it comes to rebooting series

I mean I'm pretty sure thats what they're working on now? Like before ducktales got "canceled" (it sounded to me more like they knew season 3 was their last season for a while so they got time to prep an ending.) there was talks of darkwing duck spin off. And I haven't heard anything about THAT being canceled.
Seeing Scrooge talking to the director, and saying he hasn't seen a movie since 1938; I can just hear Jason Alexander's Duckman. "This is an industry build on perception rater then fact, run by business men who only understand number and don't have a clue about what's good and what isn't."
I remember Darkwing Duck as a kid. Was never really fond of a lot of Disney's cartoons, but that show was fun. Didn't watch the reboot of DuckTales, but this review/synopsis demonstrates just how much heart the makers had for the original, wish there was more of that in remakes these days.
OMG! I am SO HAPPY To find another person, who loves Darkwing Duck as much as I DO! Seriously, at 18:07 is my exact reaction to the reveal of NegaDuck 😂 Hope to see more Ducktales and Darkwing in the future man!
Also I don’t know if anyone else realized it but the pretentious producer saying “Aren’t we all the villains of our own story?” also foreshadows Negaduck ;)
Fun Fact (and your gonna fanboy even louder then ever) at 11:53 when Jim was "distracting" the guard who's actually voiced none other then the animator, screenwriter, producer, storyboard artist, and director of Darkwing himself; Tad Stone!!!!
The bit at 12:48 hit close to home, there are so many characters that have me WANT to be a better person and to hear it put to words like that was beautiful
If it wasn't for this video, I would have never known about this new take on Darkwing Duck. Thank you. Sometimes it's a good idea to go against the grain and focus on passion.
This episode is masterfully written. Something I love is that so many kids who saw this episode would then want to watch the original and this episode is almost like an origin story for that series. Tying everything together in a way like nothing else I've ever seen.
It was so wonderful to hear the same passion and love for the show Darkwing Duck that I feel coming from you. And you're dead on. This show is the prime example of how to do a reboot, how to make something that you love as good as what you loved. And it's deeply ironic that this is coming from the House of Mouse. Honestly, if the people who worked on this show were to tackle the other Saturday morning Disney shows with this sort of style, I would be ecstatic. But I also know that's not gonna happen. Those old shows are bound to where they are, and for better or worse we're never gonna see another Gargoyles, or Tailspin, or Darkwing Duck. And with how Disney behaves right now? Yeah it's disappointing. But maybe that isn't the worst thing in the world either.
Disney would do better if they put all of that Disney Snow White remake money toward continuing this version of Ducktales... or at the very least this new Darkwing Duck crew's untold story. I know that, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have worked on questionable projects in the past, but they did reach out to original series creator Tad Stones so who knows, maybe it will be better than we initially thought? Besides thanks to IMDb we now know it has reached Production - which means it is in the stage of being recorded/ animated this very moment. My only hope is that they bring back Jim Cummings or Chris Diamantopoulos to reprise the role of Darkwing Duck. However, if they get anyone else beside Jim to voice Nega-duck... I can't even imagine anyone else who could fill the role. AND THAT'S A FACT!
@@thedragonknight3600 Wow! I didn't expect you to reply back? Plus, both Jim and Chris still work for Disney so, it would be stupid not to re-hire them after all of their hard work imo. Hopefully, Mark Mueller reprises his role as a series writer... that "The Duck Knight Returns!," episode he wrote was complete genius!
Back when I was in High School, I was captain of the Quizbowl team. We were getting slaughtered pretty badly on our TV episode, and at one point a team member weirdly chokes on an answer and says "DARK WING DUCK!" as the answer. It was not the answer, and 30 years later I don't even remember the question, but it still brings back fond memories of never letting this guy live it down.
I loved how in a later episode they brought back old villains from darkwing duck as well as Gosalyn! Really showed they cared about the originals. I was personally introduced to ducktales and darkwing duck thanks to this reboot and personally I love both the originals and the remake equally!
Unfiltered, pure joy. Absolutely what I like to see. Though a tad rare on this channel, it shines through when it comes around. Seriously, man, this is great to see. As a bit of a fan of DW Duck myself, it's seriously great to see this in the modern day. Thank God for Jim Cummings and thank GOODNESS people still love DD.
I freaking love this show, it managed to reboot a beloved cartoon _without_ ruining it. (ARE YOU LISTENING CARTOON NETWORK?) Really hope we get that Darkwing Duck continuation...
This is also my favorite episode of Ducktales and you expressed it perfectly. Ducktales is also my favorite show so I really appreciate this vid. Idc if the show isn't as relevant anymore, your passion shines through and that's what matters. Also still pissed we never got a Negaduck continuation, I'll never forgive Disney for canceling the show because of it 😣
If the Darkwing Duck reboot does indeed take place in the DT17 universe, Negaduck will probably return in that. If that's the case, I don't think they were ever going to bring back Negaduck in Ducktales so the cancelation wouldn't affect it.
I get so tired of people thinking a show is "cancelled" when it wasn't cancelled. It just "ended". When a show gets to have a finale episode, it's not cancelled. It has just ceased to be, becuase it is done. Huge difference.
@@the-NightStar Canceled means the studio doesn’t renew it. I heard the reason Disney didn’t renew Ducktales was because most of the crew left to work on other projects. The obvious question is why didn’t they just hire more crew members, but it’s not as if Disney pulled the rug out from under them
"I kept getting up." Exactly why even as an adult I enjoy cartoons/anime the good guys win and not only win but usually give us an example to build upon ❤
The sad part is it really WAS supposed to be Nega Duck's Origin. I talked with Jim personally about this and found out that until his wife pulled a #MeToo during their Divorce, Disney got a little leery about having him in projects. The original script for the Stealth Pilot of Darkwing Duck was going to have a disguised Nega Duck working as Professor Taurus Bulba's assistant and taking over the project, bringing forth his villains in an effort to destroy the new Darkwing... and then getting pulled back into their reality with them, effectively remaking it into the timeline of the Darkwing Duck show WE watched IRL. While things got settled and he was in the clear, sadly Disney axed Duck Tales before its time. A shame because Season 4 would have given us a proper Nega Duck arc.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I LOVE DUCKTALES 2017! It not only does it’s own great story for newcomers (like me) who know nothing of the old show, but it has great references and perfectly sets up possible story threads with other characters of the same time period for those who grew up with the show or nerds who love that sort of thing (also me)!
Y'know it's funny, David Tennant was once the die hard fan who got hired to play his childhood hero and here he's playing the oblivious, out of touch studio executive.
I freaking love this show It's such a shame that so many reboots don't realize that you need to keep the SOUL of the original alive in the reboot otherwise you're just limiting its reach by rejecting most old fans you're not grabbing new one's because if they didn't like the IP before there's very little they could do to make them like it now
You know, Negaduck origin here would be interesting here, where in the orginal show, Negaduck represents the darkest parts of DW’s ego and pride and what would happen if he didn’t adopt Gosalyn and be Drake Maellard, where in this show, he loves playing him where he believes that he’s Darkwing Duck and Drake stole that from him and now he made it his life’s purpose is to make him suffer
And now I'm subscribed. You made a bunch of good points. Darkwing Duck is my favorite hero and so this episode of DuckTales, I was absolutely in tears.
I think I heard somewhere that they're working on reboot, and there was a big darkling duck reference at the end of a movie that's possibly a hint that they're going to be making it. I'm not going to say which movie just in case you or anyone else hasn't seen it yet
13:11 this hits especially hard. Fictional characters have always played a big role in my life even to this day. They can be role models, or sources of comfort. Of course they're main role is for entertainment, but I goes beyond that. Fictional characters have played such a major role in my life that it nice hearing someone else expressing this
This episode was one of the better commentary ones as it was both for Darkwing and also about the industry itself. The challenge in making a good series and the joy of getting a respectful new version... Even if the in-universe version didn't succeed.
I always wished that Disney had let the duck tales writers create their own darkwing duck spin-off series. I wanted to see more of Nega-duck. That final scene had left us with so many questions and we got Nega-duck!
@Lboogie0711 The Busters Buster did a video on the DuckTales 2017 team’s show bible take on a Darkwing Duck Reboot not too long ago (if/when you are interested)? Still hope Disney will make the right choice on this one.🤞🥺🤞
As a fellow animation fan who has this tied with ATLA as my favorite show of all time, I hope you produce more DuckTales videos!!! Also, you just earned a Sub, loved this vid!
4:05 In case no one else has said it already, I'll say it now, because I'm too lazy to look through ALL the comments. All four of those actors already made an appearance in the same show together, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. Jim was Senator Aarrfvox, a hairy lion-like alien Phil was Rocket Crocket, a Space Ranger rival of Buzz's Cree was Savy SL2, a child adopted by robot parents And Tara was Bonnie Lepton, the daughter of a former Star Command scientist
I really loved the series. Stellar voice cast, great stories and excellent visuals (The whole package). It's a shame it couldn't go on longer, but definitely worth the trip.
I am so mad that this didn't lead to a real reboot of Darkwing Duck. The potential of the changed characters arcs was imense! Darkwing Duck was never only about a vigilante, but also about family and personal struggle and a lonely man growing ibto being a father. I want more Darkwing so bad😭😭😭😭
Agreed, I was thinking of writing a fun pilot episode for my channel, but I am afraid to get a copyright... Still maybe Seth Rogen, can do the show justice, I only hope Disney knew what they were doing when they rejected the DuckTales 2017 DWD show bible.
Dude, I'm going to be honest. I was fanboying every single moment you did in this video. Honestly I was a fan of darkwing duck as a kid and watched it every chance I could because I was always a fan of heroes. This was the truest sense of a love letter to the fans.
I'm glad you did a video on this, sharing stuff you love with an audience is what an ideal version of youtube is, (to me anyway) and it won't be that way unless creators do videos like this. I also think hearing people talk about things they are passionate about is very entertaining and it's what I am trying to do with my own content as I start out on here.
Yes, I'm with you on every manly squeal. I loved OG Darkwing and DuckTales and Talespin and every other show on the Disney Afternoon Block. Seeing them all get cameos in the Duck-verse was absolutely awesome.
While I have my gripes about the 2017 reboot, I enjoy it overall. It was the last decent reboot that showed true love for what came before (The Disney Afternoon line up and the Carl Barks comics) before things got REALLY bad.
When I saw this episode, I absolutely loved every moment and second of this episode and I won’t spoil it, but all of this is what made me love this series and then have to watch all of it. I literally was avoiding it until this episode because of how reboots tend to be more author insert these days than respectful dedications or worthy successors. I saw this and I saw writers with passion for their craft and clear vision. I do not regret becoming a fan.
I sometimes wonder if bad directors blame studio medaling to cover for the fact that they're bad directors. I've never heard anyone claim, "the studio saved my film", which you'd have to do at least sometimes else the studio would stop trying to meddle.
Definitely my favorite episode of this show as well. I really hope it'll lead into an actual reboot of Darkwing Duck as well. I just hope that the spirit that went into Ducktales 2017 will/would go into that reboot...
I fangirled just as hard during this episode. I am a HUGE fan of DW so seeing all of this sent me over the moon. (Aaand now I got the DW theme stuck in my head...)
Grew up watching Disney afternoon cartoons like darkwing and talepsin etc.. And when darkwing showed up in 2017 after ALMOST 30 YEARS OF NOTHING I literally almost sh*t myself. I wasn't a kid in the 90s, so I wasn't around when it was out and I was absolutely ecstatic that it had some sort of reboot.
While I loved seeing Jim Cummings back as the Canardian Guardian, I feel they missed a great opportunity with my boy Nega Duck! Not only was the episode setup brilliant, but he could've easily been a rogue agent by FOWL; someone that takes care of the ' dirty work' even Steelbeak won't do! Just such a tearjerker for us longtime fans to never see this iteration blossom!
The joke in this video actually made me happy. Because I just noticed that you're most recent King of the Hill video has the same amount of views that this one does! Never be afraid to talk about topics that you like!!

"Don't worry, Launchpad, I speak pretentious." Goddammit, you got me. Lmao
I dabble into that as well
@Always Plotting is that the original catchphrase?
With all the reboots we've been pummeled with. DuckTales continues to be the shiny example of what we want, not what studios think we want!
Didn’t they cancel this masterpiece of the show cuz they want more badly made live action films?
@@TheLuconic if true then that's a decision that aged like fine milk
@@TheLuconic No?
@@wellmeetagain3800 The pandemic was the reason as Disney lost a main source of income with the closure of there parks during it.
You either die the hero, or live long enough to become the villain.
This was a rare reboot that Disney didn't screw up. It was awesome.

something else i adore about this episode: Jim Cummings's subtle voice direction.

DT2017 is a failure. Let's hope the Darkwing Duck Reboot doesn't fail.

not bait sadly that person just holds a grudge towards ducktales for the webby-clone twist lmao. Fair enough, they're not doing anything wrong but replying the same nonsense to everyone in every ducktales comment sections is just sad
Small unrelated rant here but I can't stand the vague "ducktales is shit compared to the orginal", garbage you inevitably find on any ducktales review.
now THATS bait.
It's a classic case of laughing WITH someone, rather than AT them.
Spoilers for the episode's ending:
The way that Starling threatens Mallard with a chainsaw is a subtle bit of foreshadowing.
The scene is from Justice Ducks Unite
Trust me, the chainsaw was one of Negaducks main weapons. When I saw Jim pull out that chainsaw...i was like" is he going to be my Negaduck?" And sure enough I was like HELL YEAHHHHHH!!!!!
Negaduck uses a chainsaw to divvy up a model of St. Canard so that each of the other villains gets their turf

Sorry I'm late but... I love your profile name and picture.

Yes! Della and DW had there own important episodes. Let's Get Dangerous was supposed to be the pilot for the DW series.
Hearing Drake say “I know the movie is not perfect but maybe I can make it better so another kid like me can be inspired too.” summed my feelings about Wonder Woman and her films. I knew the movie wasn’t perfect but Gal Gadot made it inspirational and I know she inspired other little girls like me.
That’s awesome! I hope our next Wonder Woman can do even more to inspire you and for other young women (and to an extent, young men).

Personally I'd love more videos like this.

Also I don’t know if anyone else realized it but the pretentious producer saying “Aren’t we all the villains of our own story?” also foreshadows Negaduck ;)

There's a Darkwing Duck reboot coming to Disney+.

It's such a shame that so many reboots don't realize that you need to keep the SOUL of the original alive in the reboot otherwise you're just limiting its reach by rejecting most old fans you're not grabbing new one's because if they didn't like the IP before there's very little they could do to make them like it now
You know, Negaduck origin here would be interesting here, where in the orginal show, Negaduck represents the darkest parts of DW’s ego and pride and what would happen if he didn’t adopt Gosalyn and be Drake Maellard, where in this show, he loves playing him where he believes that he’s Darkwing Duck and Drake stole that from him and now he made it his life’s purpose is to make him suffer

17:58 i think jim almost let robotnick slip out
Darkwing Duck was more of an homage to The Shadow than Batman.
Let's say that he drew on the same pulp fiction roots that Batman did and leave it at that.
Much of DBZ is the result of studio meddling
You're underestimating the ego of corporate hacks.
Looking at this breakdown of the episode I never realized it was a slow development to Nega Duck
Definitely my favorite episode of this show as well. I really hope it'll lead into an actual reboot of Darkwing Duck as well. I just hope that the spirit that went into Ducktales 2017 will/would go into that reboot...
If it doesn't gets DT2017's worst details then yeah.
Negaduck was actually meant to appear in episodes 12 of season 3, Let's Get Dangerous, but they decided he was better off as a "lingering threat".
I actually want them to make the movie. Would be great to see them expand their ducktails universe
Jim Starling was named after Marvel comics writer Jim Starlin. Or so I’ve heard.
This is an amazing episode and an even better video. I hope you do a follow up with the next episode of this story from season 3. it doesn't have Jim Cummings but it is a somewhat new telling of the actual first DarkwingDuck episode while still being true to this world
I just want to say that I never watched Duck Tales 2017, but I clicked the video because you consistently have good takes. I loved Dark Wing Duck as a kid and this was awesome to know about.
This is why RUclipsrs are better than professional reviewers. I can find reviewers I trust to have good taste and they'll tell me about things I didn't even know that I'd like.
Keep doing what you are doing.
Happy to say as a fan that this is one of your best videos! Not even a fan of the show, but keep it coming!
If they get all the people who worked on the DuckTales reboot and have them doing Darkwing Duck, I'm all for it.
