    Christina absolutely kills it as a host on these videos. She has been such a kick ass addition to the channel this year. • @Vadimismrt
      @Vadimismrt 2 года назад +1

      Having the front fork helps a ton

    • @dankmemes2354
      @dankmemes2354 2 года назад

      Hard tails are the bikes with only the front fork. They are a nice ride but are a bit bumpier. You can put more power on the road with a hardtail though, because of the lack of rear suspension

  • @Primoz.r
    @Primoz.r 3 года назад +1

    Changing the air pressure in the shock/fork requires bouncing around to transfer the air to/from the negative chamber, otherwise the sag measurement won't be correct. It doesn't have much to do with lubing the seals.
    Plus, setting up the rear suspension's pressure based on the sag value is, if you ask me, most important, if you bottom out with the given pressure, add tokens. The sag value affects the antisquat characteristic of the bike and having it set wrong can cause the bike to bob when climbing. Even if it is 'all about descending', it makes sense to conserve energy with easy tricks going up, so you can bomb that much harder going down.

    I've been riding this bike for 7 years now! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L It was a great bike the day I got it, put it together, and went on my first ride; more importantly it's an even better bike today. I've ridden trails, street, and skatepark all on this bike. I have replaced almost every part on the bike. Some stuff has broken: derailleurs, wheels, shifter. Everything else were upgrades. The only ramaing original parts are the frame, bottom bracket, and crank set. BB and cranks will be upgraded soon. The geometry isn't great but that is really the only draw back to how good a value this bike is. Even after all the money I've spent upgrading it's still a more affordable bike than I'd have bought from a proper bike shop, especially with full suspension. I've also learned a lot about bikes working on it over the years. It really is one of the best perchases I've ever made and hopefully it'll still be around for another 7 years.

    • @peglor

      Apart from using them, what other magical process is required to bed pads in? Cooking them on a very long DH from new probably isn't a great idea, but I have no idea how the pad/rotor can distinguish general use from a bed-in procedure.

    • @peglor
      @peglor 4 года назад

      @@RealMTBAddict There's nothing magical happening there - if you just use the brakes the same thing will happen. The danger is hitting a trail and expecting full power straight away. Avid had an interesting article many years back about some weird stuff they discovered where rotors could wear with uneven thickness under very specific braking conditions (Similar to the process of forming braking bumps).
      I found this once in the Alps, but only because I was using an unhardened rotor with hardish ceramic pads - it felt like the brake had boiled as soon as any speed had built up, no power and a spongy lever, but I couldn't feel the variation in thickness at the lever. I found it with calipers after bleeding the brake and changing pads had no effect at all. This is why you'll see some rotors (Usually the ones going for under $20) marked as unsuitable for metallic pads. The bed-in won't cause this if the pads match the rotor though.
