My biturbo showed low oil. For curios i pulled bearing caps.. they were all worn- changing seal IS NOT enough! All new gm shell bearing set saved my engine. I also used gasket compound on new seal to stop it every sucking air again.
Shocked that it attually works, just iv been driving around with it low oil pressure for 2 months and I think if made more damage to the crappy engine but the seal deffo works the cold starts on the Vauxhall astra j 2.0cdti

I am so glad to find you did a how to for the oil seal on this engine as I now have a 2014 Opel /Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 CDTI ( 118KW I think ) I did an oil and filter change on it 2 days ago, a day later the low oil pressure stop engine light came on. I re filled it with more oil as thoguht maybe didn't put quite enough in on oil change day before and I restarted the engine and it was all ok, this morning it all seems ok too. could it have displayed that message because I may have not topped it up enough initially ? thanks
Thank you so much for this video, I had this problem and it is solved now! A little til is that the 2 bolts behind the F40 gearbox can be accessed by just loosening the gearbox, and keeping the gearbox bolts in, that gives you just enough room to get to the 2 oil pan bolts
I have a Vauxhall astra 2.0 cdti and ive just taken it to the garage and they have told me that the oil pump has failed, and without taking the engine apart they don't know if it will need a lot of other parts replacing so have advised I buy an entirely new engine to be fitted. The car has lost a lot of power but can still hit decent speeds. has anyone got any recommendations on what to do as I really don't want to pay 1400 pounds for a new engine + labour? also I didn't have any warning lights come up before or after the issue so there was no warning.

I guess you are right. I don't remember if anything else will be in the way to remove the oil pump. Maybe the alternator bracket needs to be removed too. PS. Where are you from? You have a Polish last name. :)

They say it's not possible, because to remove the oil pump without taking off the oil sump I would need also to remove a crankshaft (Polish "wał korbowy"). It seems to be logic, because I would need to lift the oil pump but the crankshaft would block it. However on the video I see there is dismounted oil pump without taking off the oil sump and the crankshaft: ruclips.net/video/fXT8WReHzZo/видео.html . In this picture was the oil sump taken off before the oil pump and then just kept together for the purpose of the photo?

Is there a way to know if your engine will have a space to get to all of the screws on the oil pan? My car is a 2014 Chevy Cruze diesel with this engine. If it doesnt have the spaces, will a long allen key always work?

It can be fixed by adding wynn oil leak it fixed my 2.0 cdti astra j ecoflex just add it in cold engine in fresh changed oil and leave it for atleast one day with out starting car hopefully will fix it more as if your engine is high milage always use castrol gold oil it keeps the seals lubricated better than other engine oils according to my research.
@@bendude6748 obviously seal will need to change at some point in my view it is temporary fixed which did work for me seal only worn out if the oil doesn't get changed regularly with right oil like vw they service high milage engine over 80000 miles plus with castrol oil I have owned most of vauxhall they leak oils or worn seal or faulty oil pressure sensor around 70000 miles even been serviced by dealership regularly.

Ja genau diese Aktion habe ich gerade hinter mir...mal angesehen davon das ich nur den sensor für den Öldruck neu haben wollte sprich Wanne ab usw und bei der sichtkontrolke fest gestellt worden den dichtsatz gleich mit zu erneuern....ansonsten irgend Wann ein kapitaler Motorschaden entstehen kann nur wg dem fucking Dichtungsring..alles mit Absicht Hauptsache immer nur Werkstatt und schön bezahlten laut opel 7bis 8std Arbeit 600 bis 800 Euro mit Getriebe aus und einbau wo ich war 4std Arbeit ohne--getriebe Ausbau Ersparnis rund 500 Euro. Privat Werkstatt versteht sich opel ist einfach zu dähmlich so was zu umgehen. ..Hauptsache schön den Kunden melken. Wo bei das Getriebe Wenn's schonmal raus ist sollte die kupplung inclusive zms kontrolliert werden. Bei Bedarf gleich mit tauschen

New Oil Pump has been fitted, along with new sensor, and engine flash has been applied but Same message still appears on the dashboard when the car is idle?? any suggestions
It applies to any car that uses these fiat 2.0 diesel engines. You fitter new oil pump, but did you use a new rubber seal, as shown in the video? If yes, then just reset the error and try again. If it pups up again, you need to check carefully what happened...maybe the oil pressure sensor is faulty!

Does this problem also include high oil consumption/loss? My 1.6 JTDM has this problem with cold engine, it then disappears whenever the engine builds up some heat. Sometimes it smokes (blue) heavily, but this is very random. Turbo pressure is OK so i don't think that's the problem. Hope to hear from you soon!

After some time your engine will seize due to lack of oil getting around the engine ie crankshaft and transmission will break crack would get fixed asap
Same here with Lancia Delta 2.0 Thought it was a faulty sensor or so. It immediately disappears after 2 seconds or so. Gonna try the Wynn solution @@samfkt

Im looking for Opel Insignia facelift 2014 the car has 2.0 cdti with 163 bhp with 168.000km, is this the same engine? I went to Opel dealer and he told me that the seal is not enough, after 200k km u need a rebuild? Is this true?.
I just replaced mine in Alfa, takes about 4 hours if you have good access + 2-3 hours to let silicone dry. You can leave driveshaft, just unbolt bearing housing. In some gearboxes it is much more work since you can't easily access bolts on flywheel side. Don't forget to throughly clean pan and all the parts there.
Is this also for Opel Insignia from the Netherlands? I have 2.0 CDTI 160 PS, my car is from 2013. And I use 5W-30 DEXOS 2 oil every 15/20.000 km thanks!
if you have low oil pressure indicator on, then you should check that rubber seal from the video. Be careful : if somehow your software is updated, the low oil pressure indicator may not appear anymore!

Had asme problem on astra j 2.0 cdti. Sealing gasket for oil pump was the issue.

Only cost me 100 for the seal to be changed but normally 250 i was told deffo needs to asap does create more damage in the long run

Once the seal goes hard you can’t reverse that with anything it needs to be replaced, they go brittle like plastic.

Yes, all 2.0 Euro5 diesel engines have this issue. The Euro6 has improved design of the oil pump.

If you use a Special Liquid in oil "Stop leak" you reduce it? I wanna Try this before change gasket. I have the same problem in my 159.

Im looking for Opel Insignia facelift 2014 the car has 2.0 cdti with 163 bhp with 168.000km, is this the same engine? I went to Opel dealer and he told me that the seal is not enough, after 200k km u need a rebuild? Is this true?.
How long does it take to do this seal replacement job ?
I just replaced mine in Alfa, takes about 4 hours if you have good access + 2-3 hours to let silicone dry. You can leave driveshaft, just unbolt bearing housing. In some gearboxes it is much more work since you can't easily access bolts on flywheel side. Don't forget to throughly clean pan and all the parts there.
On insignia 4x4 quite long time.

Is this also for Opel Insignia from the Netherlands? I have 2.0 CDTI 160 PS, my car is from 2013.
And I use 5W-30 DEXOS 2 oil every 15/20.000 km thanks!
if you have low oil pressure indicator on, then you should check that rubber seal from the video. Be careful : if somehow your software is updated, the low oil pressure indicator may not appear anymore!
And one advice : you shouldn't use that oil as much as 15/20k km, it is too much. Change it at 10k or use a better oil like Castrol or Valvoline.
