    Honestly I drove this car for two weeks as a rental when I went on holiday in America and I’m looking into importing it over because I love this car so much

    The only reason I can think that these cars are so underrated is because people simply believe their no different then Impalas were back in the 80s and 90s.
    The first time I drove my 2017 Premier I was shocked with the build quality, powerful smooth quiet engine response.
    The quality interior stitching and attention to detail.
    Not to mention the endless features and options some of which I never knew even existed before.

    I have always liked the Impalas. I got a Premier as a rental once and really liked it. I liked it so much, that was the only rental I was trying to get (I have been traveling for work alot). Sadly, with the news breaking today (11/26/18), GM is killing the impala after 2019. I'm going to hold out to see what deals will be had (new or used).

      Chris's World same here ! Mosaic black , and I was lucky as mine came already with the navigation installed . Not that I use the onboard one much but still cool 😎
      I sincerely can say that this is the best sedan Chevrolet has ever produced . I traded my 2015 Malibu lt for the 2018 impala lt and not one moment I regretted that decision 😍

    I gotta say GM is finally making me proud with their new Impala, Lacrosse, and XTS. 2013-14 was a game changer for GM with their large American sedans...
    The not forgotten Pontiac Grand Prix, Bonneville, The Cadillac Deville, Seville, DTS, STS The Buick LeSabre, Park Avenue, Lucrene, and The Oldsmobile Aurora and Roadmaster are all proud of the way their close cousins the Impala lacrosse and xts carries GM's segment of large American family sedans in 2018!!!

    Pretty good review here GP!
    I LOVE my 2015 LTZ!! Bought it as as a CPO unit. It's the Burgundy-Metallic with black leather. All options, except for the Radar-Cruise, therefore my grill has the bars that go all the way across. I've got these 20" rims too (like the reviewed car here).
    I'm 6'2", with a longer torso. My head is in the headliner in most vehicles. Not so with this Impala!!! I still clear the roof by a couple inches.....AND.....I can sit in the rear seat! That NEVER happens!!
    I could give a rats-ass about gas-mileage, but did get 28 on interstate on a couple Mpls road-trips. ALWAYS use Seafoam in gas once a month. Also.....only Certified Top-Tier No-Ethanol Premium from Shell & Holiday EVER touches my gas tanks!!!!?

      Elliot Newell it has 305hp if you by the v6 you will not regret it. It drives as comfortable as a Mercedes (smooth very good suspension) and pretty fast for a sedan that size.
      Do yourself a favor tho do not drop 20 inch wheels on it as you will notice more road noise and less comfort.

    Touch screen interface looks nearly identical to the 2014 model (the first "new" generation of Impala I saw up close), and the rearview camera resolution appears to have only been slightly improved. These two things aren't something I'd hinge my decision whether or not to purchase on, but it is a little surprising to see them neglected. Cost-cutting at GM?

      It’s not a sports car. And a big wheel means you can see more behind it.

    Cool ride but I still like my 2005 Impala SS with the old school supercharged 3.8 L pushrod, all iron V6 a little better. The 2000-05 looked a little more "Chevy" and the early 60s styling cues (the tail lights and the grill) gave it a touch of nostalgia. The 2005 SS came loaded to the gills for $26,000. The 2018 V6 might make more power but with the complexity of the DOCH 3.6 VVT, I'm guessing the that old 3.8 pushrod engine will go 200,000 mile plus with much less repairs. I still like the 2018 but Im not ready to trade in the 2005 SS

      wrotenwasp listen this model impala is nicer than an impala from 05 and it isn’t close. GM was building trash across the board basically at that time as they went into bankruptcy and that early 2000s impala is no exception.

      +Charlie Vela - I didn't even notice the grill. What is bad about it compaired to earlier type?

    • @gtpcruiser02
      @gtpcruiser02 6 лет назад

      The reason for that strange-looking grill is because this vehicle has adaptive cruise control which involves many sensors that have to be protected somewhat from the weather and road elements. Otherwise the black panels would be a beautiful chrome grill like I have on my 2017 Impala Premier without adaptive cruise control.
      Adaptive cruise control is great because all you have to do is set it and forget it.
      No need to constantly reset it when you get to close or too far from the car in front of you. The vehicle will accelerate and decelerate automatically.
      Also if you have full collision avoidance the vehicle will automatically break with an audible alarm and red lighting projected on the windshield if you should get dangerously close to the vehicle in front of you.
      If you have this option that also requires those black panels in the grill.
      Partial collision avoidance just sounds an alarm and projects the red lights without automatically breaking and again you will get the chrome grille.

    • @carlcampbell6827
      @carlcampbell6827 6 лет назад +1

      +CraftsmanQuad - I hear you Impala man. I have had a 64, 69, 80 and 2007 SS V8. I wanted to buy a 2014 Chevy Holden SS but decided on Charger R/T that had features I wanted (not on the SS). I just traded the 2014 R/T on a 2018 Daytona. As far as Impala, great car, but the high winding V6 is not for me in a full size car. I will take the V8 with cylinder deactivation in a nano second!

    • @carlcampbell6827
      @carlcampbell6827 6 лет назад

      +CraftsmanQuad- "167" you said. I was thinking that you would be talking about the 3.8 turbo V6?

    • @carlcampbell6827
      @carlcampbell6827 6 лет назад

      +CraftsmanQuad - Yes it has always been very intriguing trying to build a very quick "sleeper" car at a reasonable cost. I think of a buddy of mine years back that took a 57' Chevy 210 4 door and installed a 427, 4-speed, 411 posi, strong brakes and suspension. He used all used / refurbished parts. The exterior was bone stock faded light green. Boy that car was a real favorite sleeper of mine. Also these kind of cars have a nice resale value. Good luck with your Impala project.

    • @carlcampbell6827
      @carlcampbell6827 6 лет назад

      +CraftsmanQuad - Yea, I would like to see your work. Believe me there is a real need and interest for building quality and cool performance cars for modest amount of money. We all know it can be done, especially us older guys with deep roots in hot rodding.

      CraftsmanQuad - You know I really hear you about how great it is living near a wrecking yard. Most people don't appreciate it. We had this when we were young guys, but with urban sprawl it is long gone. Also it is great that you have older experienced help with your car. The car hobby is great and lasts indefinately; it has for me any all my car buddies.

    I WISH TO HELL.....that Chevy would drop a V8 in this car, & make it a REAL SS!!! If it were re-worked to REAR-Whl drive with a V8, there would be one in my garage within 15 minutes of its introduction!!!!

      I guess you never heard of the Chevy SS.
      For all of the people who wanted a RWD V8 sedan from Chevy.. no such actually bought it.

    197hp seems pretty low for a car like this my 2017 Ford Fusion 2.0lt has 245hp

      My impala got 305. Love it! 200 is not enough at all, that 305 is nice! Buy the 3.6

      Only the four cylinder has 197 horsepower.
      The V6 has 305 horsepower.
      This engine will pin you in your seat.
      I know because I have a 2017 Impala Premier with the 3.6 V6.
