i had never watched a Champions League match before 2021 and it has already become my favorite competition across all sports. it's incredible. (i'm American if you couldn't tell lol)

I remember in 2004 (i think), AC Milan beat Inter on away goals. That means they tied both matches, but AC Milan scored more goals while playing at Inter's home field than Inter scored on ACs. Since they both share a stadium, they just had to designate which match is which teams home match.
They share the same stadium but depending who plays at home the stadium changes name. When Inter play at home its named "Giuseppe Meazza" and when Milán play at home its called "San Siro"

This is actually not true, the Giuseppe Meazza stadium is located in a neighborhood called San siro. But Meazza is an inter legend so Milan fans refuse to call it meazza

Bro, I live in Texas and have gotten so much into soccer because of your videos that I'm going to take a trip to Europe later this year to see games in Serie A and La Liga for next season. You could add the stake for Milan Derby by saying they’re like the Lakers vs Celtics Rivalry but they’re in one city.
By virtue of it being a franchise system, US major sports doesn't have anything approaching the derby rivalry of larger European cities, particularly that of a two team city like Milan or Rome. College sports are probably a better comparison.

As a Milan fan, I want to give some corrections on AC Milan:
* This is not the first time in 7 years we are in the Champions League. We were there last year and drew a group of death (vs Athletico Madrid, Porto FC, and Liverpool, yes still hurts to this day).
* The Inter founding is not quite right. Internationale was founded not because AC Milan didn't want a Swiss Player but because the league forbade non-English or non-Italinan players. There was a new league forming (which AC Milan ended up joining shortly after) that didn't have such a rule. People who formed Inter just wanted to join that league ASAP with the aforementioned Swiss player, when Milan wanted to stay in a league in which they were in a good position.
