If you upgraded the firmware to 6+ they are the same. The R10-2 made the R12 what it is. R10-2 is the hardware R12 is the firmware. If you look the R10-2 was not around very long.
So just to make sure i'm understanding correctly....the R12 light is the only one that can be used as a base when doing RTK?? the R12 and R12i can only be used as rovers?
We do opus work in areas that are not that secure. We have an R10, R12 and now an R12i We choose less than Ideal setups often so we don't have to babysit the gear. Would there be any difference in the opus results (were looking for elevations) with these units ? For Opus can the R12/R12i make better use of the signals in the same timeframe ?
If you were processing against your own base in TBC I would say yes. If you just use OPUS you could use cheeper unit for static. OPUS doesn’t use all the satellites.
@@SurveyingWithRobert I purchased an R12i, but I have a problem with high precision in RTK, in other GNSS I get millimeter precision, while in the new R12i I get 8, 20, 30 centimeters vertically, that's very strange.
@@SurveyingWithRobert anything would be great. I currently run a tsc3/access, a r10-2, and s6. We seem to be getting more Alta requests. I run Carlson survey and used survnet in the past but it seems like it there could be easier/ better way. So I have been looking into tbc in general but I haven’t got to see many features in person
Okay so I've watched 3 times and I'm not sure I've got this straight. For the hardware 8,000. The nema stream is 250. Warranty with accidental damage coverage 3,000. And it's 20,500 for all the things that make it better than an R8?
Just found you and I have already subscribed !
Robert, if I run an old R10 base.. not the R10-2, with a new R12, will it lessen the great performance of the R12 in the woods?
Mike Stone watch this video. I use a R8s and R12 as a base. This R8s would be comparable to your R10. ruclips.net/video/3_J_BtpXhSk/видео.html
I would say no...seeing as your base wouldn’t have to deal with canopy and would be on a pretty convenient and optimal CP or out in the open.
My R10-2 has Xfill, ProPoint, tilt, etc... besides the name, what really separates the R12 from the R10-2 Robert? They appear to spec out the same.

No sir, they all can be used as a base or rover.

Is it possible to revert to a previous firmware version? R12i
Not positive but you may be able to with TIM. Try highlighting the software version and select an older version at the top.

@@GilbertoMoraes-y3h that is strange. Do a hard reset and see if that helps.
@@SurveyingWithRobert ok, Can you tell me how to reset? Please

Hi Robert...what’s the difference between a Model 60 and Model 74?
Model 60 has a Internal 403-473 UHF Radio, Model 74 has a cellular modem. This is on the R8s, The R12 has a 00 (no radio) model 60 (radio)
Hi Robert. Does the xFill work in VRS network rover mode?
If you are in state plane and you have it turned on in your survey style, yes.
Do you have a video on ALTA Relative Tolerance Reports in tbc?
I do not but been thinking about doing one.

R12i basically list $28,500, plus $2500 for the warranty. Nema $250.
