    Funny u say reluctant to change. Up here in Canada, majority of the equipment in the mining industry is Leica. Well started a new job fall 2018 at a mine. It used to be an open pit mine and now the company is after another ore body which will make it an underground mine. I was first tasked to upgrade the 15+ yr old survey equipment. Took some smooth talking but I will be getting all new Trimble gear . The PO was issued today for (2) S7 2" robo's, (1) SX10 and (1) R10 GPS :) . Life doesn't get any better than this . Keep up the vids, they are so much better and informative than the other out there.

      Why not go with TWO r10's, the sx10 and ONE s7, with extra dough get another data collector? You would get a higher return of survey work done with that as opposed to the equipment your going with......You can differential GPS onsite and still have flexibility to use a network...(its a mine so i assume a 10th is close enough for most stuff?)

    Using Trimble equipment since 2003 bought the first S6 in NE US. Great stuff.

      SteveN Kelly I agree. Been using Trimble since mid 90’s myself.

    Thanks for the info! I'm not a surveyor but I do use the R10 with TSC3 data collector for work.

      Robert Trevino so what’s your thoughts on the gear?

    • @roberttrevino5058
      @roberttrevino5058 6 лет назад

      Surveying With Robert I'm not gonna lie.. it's the only equipment I've ever used. Besides that I think it's great! I only use basic functions because of the area I live in but I know it's potential is beyond me.

    Why in R10 the status solution does not use RTK FIX or RTK FLOAT?

    Hi Robert, great video, I just wanted to ask, do you think this equipment is suitable for surveying kerb lines on uk roads? the dimensions for the kerb are 255mm x 125 x 914mm and i am expected to survey back of kerb to front of kerb along the surface of road but i am suspicious of the accuracy especially with elevations

    • @SurveyingWithRobert
      @SurveyingWithRobert  7 месяцев назад

      You are looking at best case elevations will be 4mm but expect 4 cm’s. Horizontal is usually 4mm or better in some cases. If you need really tight vertical you may want to look at a robot.

    Hello, I recently purchased an R10 along with a TSC3 with Trimble Access 2017. On setting up a base station, I would like to take the reading of a point for a few hours and then average it to determine a mean value. How can I do this?

    • @SurveyingWithRobert
      @SurveyingWithRobert  3 года назад

      I think you are talking about static. Where are you from?

      @@SurveyingWithRobert Yes, I'm talking about static logging. Trying to get the base to log for 2 to 3 hours but no luck. I'm from Guyana, South America.

    Hi Robert. Is the compensated point feature similar to the tilt feature on the R12i?

    Hi Robert, I have the R10 and looking at used S5 + 360 prism. Can the standard prism integrate with the R10 or do I need the R10 prism?

    • @SurveyingWithRobert
      @SurveyingWithRobert  5 лет назад

      if you have a R10 then you really want a R10 prism. You can use the standard 360 but you will need to notch the rubber bumper for the antenna

    • @SurveyingWithRobert
      @SurveyingWithRobert  5 лет назад +2

      They are great receivers but $25,500 is a lot for a surveyor.
