    You know way, way (way) more than I do about these but I have needed to find that I can adjust my cheap bipod usually by just loosening the connector between the fixed and extending parts of the legs. Sometimes you have to take them apart and blow em out. I really appreciate your vids. Mahalo.

    Robert, surely Access is averaging all of those epochs? Or perhaps it’s refining the solution throughout the countdown, then taking one final shot based on that refined solution? There’s got to be more to the story but I’d love to know. Might be important to field procedure. Thanks

      I will dig a little deeper but that’s what I was told.

    Great work we use the site calibration feature to site calibrate two known control points in our local area.

    I have watched all your videos and have really learned a lot even in this one. But was curious why you chose to make a template with the calibration and not to just copy the calibration from one job to the next if that works the same. Or if there is something different that I have not figured out between the 2. Or is it just a different way to skin the same cat?

      When you save the template all you need to do is create a new job. No copy, no unforeseen issues. Just create the job. Now just think about all the templates you could create. That template is for that job.

      Also when you copy a job you get all the unwanted points. Slows your job down. This keeps the projection.

    Trimble Access Help states the following, "If you have been measuring the point for longer than 15 epochs and the precisions go out of tolerance, a message warns that the occupation timer will reset and allows you to store the last position with good precisions. Tap Yes to store the last good position. Tap No to reset the timer and continue measuring the point." If its only taking the last shot, then why would it be keeping track of the previous 15 epochs?

    Hey Robert, great video. How about a video on how to use a pdf of plans that is to scale for a background while taking shots.

      Have you checked out my background video? I have a pdf survey of my property I am using for a background map. Would you like something more detailed?

    Hey Robert, When your setting up a job in a state plane coordinate system knowing that your going to calibrate to site control do you select to use a Geoid model? Does this have any effect on the calibration result?

    Have you found that if you create a project in the data collector, you can not import the data into tbc? Now, if you create the project in trimble sync manager, then it will import into tbc. Thanks!

      Guessing you need to run TIM and office updates. Let me know if that works.

    Seeing this video makes me wonder, can a dwg be brought ij as a layer like a txt , csv, etc?

    • @SurveyingWithRobert
      @SurveyingWithRobert  11 месяцев назад

      When you bring in a dwg it keeps the layers from the dwg so you can turn them on and off.

    Why bother with a template? I would just export a dc file from the control job and start a new job and import the dc file for a daily staking file.

    • @SurveyingWithRobert
      @SurveyingWithRobert  10 месяцев назад

      Then you have 1000’s of points in one job

    • @Geoinfodoo

      What I'm thinking... localization will be done first on site ... at that moment you do dc export and you have it for next days... hope this have sense.

      So I give you 300 waterline points on day three. You import them in hoping not to override existing points? So your file just gets bigger and bigger. Or you create a new job with the right template import the points and roll? See each task could be its own job so you don’t clutter up your project from three days of grade staking. This is just how I like to do it. At the end of the day task is finished and we go home and drink a beer no matter which way you do it.

      What File format would you export that would include your site calibration. If I wanted to duplicate this Calibration to another DC , what file type would I export ?
      Thank you !
