Hey Robert, for the gnats, ORS makes a product called Smooth-N-Hold Pudding. It can be found at Walmart or Family Dollar in the ethnic hair care products. I live by this stuff
Great video Robert. I'm a bit behind on the "whats new" from Trimble. Pretty sure I see an R12 in my immediate future. That ProPoint tech is amazing... and a must have for working up here in NW Montana.
If you run two bases, on different frequencies, you can avoid dumping the rover and merely switch radio frequency, and immediately take a subsequent rtk shot, and now you truly have statistically independent connections to that monument or control point without waiting for a sidereal time lapse.
This is such a good video, we'd usually run a repeater on highway work (linear feet mostly, straight highways) but now, if we could run two bases with radio - this would be amazing! Thanks for always posting good vids! Your SX10 video helped me out with scanning issues on an overpass in Madisonville, TX
Hi, is it possible to use the r12 together with the r10? this is what i got and i would like to use it this way. is there any way i can read how this is done? i am very new to this all...
Just set the 10 as a base and 12 as a rover. Follow the video I have on the R10-2 setup. R10-2 are pretty much a R12 and they all work the same. Hope this helps.
Thanks Robert thats how I have it R8s full base and R10-2 with R12 upgrade as a Rover and I love it, thanks for your videos!!

Thanks man! I will give it a try!
Love your t-shirt Rob!
Sam Mcsam thank you, it was a gift from Trimble
You're the man Robert! Thanks!

Thank you very much for this one! Always wanted to know :)

You are referring to duel bases or duel vectors. You have to offset one of the radio signals, both on the same frequency and use swap base.
Thanks for the great information

jackson whalen when I introduced you guys to cell phone you will be blown away. 20 miles from your own base!

Can the rover swap base with a different channel rather than different delay?
No have to the same. Rover can only hear one channel at a time.
@@SurveyingWithRobert Good to know! Thanks.
Robert,
I have some R6 Model 4 receivers that track all constellations. Would these work in the same way as the R8s as a base for the R12?
Is that mean transmit delay not effect on precision or accuracy ? ... can you explain more about transmit delay .
It’s just an offset in the broadcast of the radio. Has no effect on the data just how it’s sent out.
@@SurveyingWithRobert thanks
WHY YOU ADD 250 MILISECONDS TO THE SIGNAL DELAY
You would do this if using the same channel for the radio so that your rover can use either base. Source:Trimble website.
Confusing with Robert
Excuse me?
You couldn’t fill his shoes..
Can you use the new R12i as base and R8 as rover?
Don’t know why you couldn’t but that’s not the best way to use it. More power at your rover with a R12i. Unless you have a rover only R8.
@@SurveyingWithRobert thank you!
