Just got R12's and have been shocked with its capabilities. We've been using R8-2&3 gnss since 2005, but with Galileo and beidou, and whatever black magic the R12 is doing, I've been able to get ridiculous solutions in areas that make little sense. I'm in BC canada and have very challenging terrain. Keep up the good content Robert. I got an RTK solution to 1inch in my office, 4ft from the window.
We're getting one to demo for the next couple of days, and the tilt function, if it works as advertised, is absolutely useful for my job. I do a lot of environmental- and watercourse surveying in harsh conditions, and often have to survey inlets and outlets of wells and piped streams; a lot of older wells is conical, making it hard to get the proper location of the inlet and outlet pipes. its a godsend in uneven and hilly terrain as well where it can be challenging to get a proper footing or stay steady.
Hey Robert, Whats the difference in dumping your satellites by SV tracking in the measure menu vs the satellite icon in the top of the map screen? SV tracking makes you have to reset the IMU after dumping the satellites. The other way doesn't but they both say resetting SV tracking.... Its a real pain having to reset the IMU by swiveling the dome when using observed control.
@@SurveyingWithRobert It defies expectations. Reception under trees, picking up floor levels... It didn't help that I had a demo of the X7 at the same time!
Joel Scragg X7 has its place. Keep in mind it works best when you have 4 walls to register to. The R12 is amazing adding the tilt adds icing to the cake😎

is it RTK solution or aRTK solution
@@sacprasanna I was using a local r12 base with rtk to my r12 rover. About 1km away
@@sacprasanna AN RTK SOLUTION. ALL CAPS.
I'm so impressed with how well it works in the woods. Nothing like hiking a mile into think brush and waiting 2 hours for the RTK to fix.
Rami Tamimi I am loving the the R12!
We purchased a r10-2 with pro point update two weeks ago. It is certainly a huge step forward for us coming off of r6-4 and r8-2 receivers.
Byron Sanderson amen brother. I bet you can see a huge gain in production!

Trimble says that the antennas are so sensitive that dumping may not reset the tracking. They recommend using the initialization button.
Does anyone know how the R12i compares to the the Javad LS+ in the woods? I can’t find anything comparing the two
How does this instrument work head to head with EMLID?
Has a demo yesterday. It is some piece of kit. 👍
Pretty sweet!

@@SurveyingWithRobertthe X7 is a touch noisy but nice to have the on site reg.
Joel Scragg like I said it has its place. Great for architectural but not so much industrial.
Where do I buy the supportfix on the staff. I mean the adjustment thing to get the bubble in level. Never seen that in Sweden
We call them bipods.
Does it matter what type of shoe you have on your prism pole?
Yes. Topo boot only.
can you tell me where you get your steady stand for your pole
In Canada we get them through Cansel but bipods are common with most survey stores.
You didn't see that thing waving?! His northing would been .02 with a steady stick!

Did someone compare the "leica gs18" with the "Trimble r12i" ?
Had some guys in LA try them. Ended up with R12’s
@@SurveyingWithRobert Tnx for replying ! Some advantages/disadvantages listed?
Trimble just released R12 in a half-year it seems not fair to the users.
The R10-2 came out and then they released the R12 pretty quick after that.
