It's also all manual here. Many overseas airports I've been to have automated announcement systema for boarding, final call, delays, gate change, etc. Apparently, the US is still in the stone age with gate agents manually anouncing everything (often with very poor enunciation to boot)
Good video, i have not flown on any of these new planes, it seems the windows are bigger than the A380. You can now fly non stop to Perth from London with Qantas on the 787. Thanks for sharing have a nice weekend.
I have used United several times, and they were good for me. My last flight, from AMS to NEW, was really good. Decent legroom, decent food. Just an okay airline.

Yes there twin Dad has gene flying it since 2015 and my uncle has been flying it since last year and there sister is flight attendant all for United Airlines
Was a member of Mileage Plus for more than 10 years. I have never on a Domestic United Flight that was not at least 90% full. For comparison I was recently on a Singapore Airlines flight from SIN to LAX(nonstop for 14 and about half the starts in Premium Economy were empty). I have had similar experiences with Emirates and Qatar.

Nice to see a report on the 781. Liked the interior. Too bad about the IFE not working. The "food" on this trip seemed like a mere afterthought, would have expected at least a light meal, not a simple stroopwaffle and drink, that's pretty bad imo, but atleast better than nothing.
Tell that on a 7 hour flight from Houston to Honolulu, they charged you for all meals and all they had for free were pretzels, also there weren’t even real hot meals for sale, if you’re gonna charge me on a long haul day flight, at least have hot meals available for sale.
Also booked a United 787-10 flight (same route) but just got an aircraft change to 757-200. Hopefully they will allow me to change to the earlier flight which should still be operated by a 787-10.
Watching it with coffee in front of me or Tea at the before I go to bed , Its so delicious with some food because I have been having problems with my Pain in stummuc I am so bored of it , and I hope I get rid of the snake , Thank you for your videos I love to watch them before I go to bed :)

David, I recall that you had roasted United before in your Southwest trip report from Oakland to Las Vegas. While this United trip report is great (as always), it would have been better if you roasted United even harder here, now that you have experienced United's service (or lack thereof) first-hand. 😜

Ahh David!! I think you are spoiled with the IFE that is available now!! It was not too long ago, all you got was an inflight movie, and some channels of audio programming. My thought would be to make sure you have your own entertainment, just in case. I always made sure to have at least one book in hand, just in case!! (P.S. I have not flown since the inception of the modern IFE, but wish I could, just to experience it.)
I flew their 787-10 last month EWR-SFO, just two rows in front of where your seat was. Though my movies worked, the IFE would freeze up for several minutes any time I switched from movies to the flight map and back. It’s okay for a transcon flight but I wouldn’t book United for long haul.
I had same issues one time with JetBlue ife not working on my trip home from Boston. Sometimes electronics just dont want to work like there supposed too
Altough much more I prefer the sights out of the window, netherelses very good you wasn,t amused about the disrupted IFE onboard this LAX - EWR flight-service. And you wasn,t alone with this. I am very surprised even on this longer approx. 5 hours flight UNITED only served one drink and one tiny Dutch waffle. To be true. On this long domestic-service I have awaited a little more to eat and drink. UNITED isn,t a low-cost airline. But take it easy. You could enjoy a domestic UNITED Boeing 787 flight.
I wonder do all passengers get the complimentary drinks and snacks? From what I know UA domestic flight especially economy class everything comes with a fee, unless Premium Eco or Business class. That's my favourite stuff, airlines magazine Hemispheres. Supposedly I should be flying on UA787-10 from LHR to LAX this December but I guess I have to cancel it due to the pandemic. Hopefully we can quickly get through this though moment.
It's interesting how UA2418 uses a 78X on the LAX-EWR leg, but the outbound EWR-SLC with the same flight number is an A320. I'm surprised they don't use different flight numbers for those separate legs. At first, I thought this LAX-EWR was a repositioning flight, but it looks as though the pattern for this particular flight is LAX-EWR (UA2418), EWR-SFO (UA2006), SFO-EWR (UA577) and EWR-LAX (UA1600) before repeating the same pattern.

I see this plane almost every day from northern PA, Its been running later than scheduled recently because I see it on the way to a 5pm class so usually about 20 till. I do have a high zoom camera and do want to get good pictures of it someday I just don't want to take my big camera to class.
Stick Man to me, it’s the a350-1000 that looks a bit too stretched and big. My favorite aircraft is the a350-900 followed by the 777-300ER, 787-10 and 787-9
the reason some things don't work is because the plane was just made so the Ife and WiFi weren't working because maybe they didn't have time to put the Ife and WiFi before the planes first flight

I think its because everything hasn't been set up that time. Now everything on the 787-10 should be fully set up.

Huge plane for a cross country flight, I've flown on the 787-9 and it was awesome! I bet the 787-10 is even more awesome!

I have flown SFO-JFK and EWR on United, Virgin (RIP), and JetBlue. They all offer just snacks and drink service for economy cabin.

My parents and I are taking Alaska Airlines from EWR to LAX on October 25 and from LAX to EWR on October 31 on the same airline this year.

United needs to fix the IFE and offer better food. Really I would just take Delta or JetBlue. Good review in the 787-10.

In a bit over a month I'll be fling United's 787-10 from Newark to Paris, hopefully the iFE will work properly on that 7 hour flight.

Was the seat comfortable during flight? I have about a 7 hr flight coming up in that section, curious to know if the seats reclined a decent amount.

Also don’t drink the tap water on most planes because the tanks are not clean most of the time. Always use bottled water.
