I had lumpectomy surgery on Friday May 3rd. Unable to be independent is difficult. My appt with my surgeon will be Monday May 13th. I'm hoping for the best.❤ Wishing you a speedy recovery 🙏
You got this!! 2 year cancer free. Had a DXM with a Diep flap surgery. Very humbling having my mom shower me at 39. It’s a journey and one step at a time. Enjoy the small victories.
Diep is the goal after chemo!
I had stage 3c ovarian cancer 17 years ago. I learned that I could control nothing - I could only make choices. Major life lesson. In January, I was diagnosed with an unrelated breast cancer. Due to routine care, I’m grade 1 and stage 0. (Lumpectomy on 2/14.) Today, I’m still focused on choices. I know “what if” (second guessing decisions) is toxic. Commit, don’t look back, and get through this…Target will be waiting!

Hi I had a lumpectomy on 7th June .. grade 2 cancer
I’m four weeks post op and feeling good , got my results today and no cancer gone to lymph nodes, just got to wait three weeks now to find out if I need chemotherapy x still a bit uncomfortable but aim to keep moving and stay positive.. if no chemo I’ll start radiotherapy and then hopefully say goodbye to cancer.. lovely to hear your positive video it certainly helped me listening to it x

My friend had her lumpectomy on Thursday last. Thanks for the info. I am on a steep learning curve now in order to fully support my friend.
Thank you for the health update. You are on my mind and 🙏 As a long time survivor I thank you for your thoughtful education for others. You are so smart for advising that everyone’s journey is different. I would not have described my lumpectomy as difficult as you have encountered. However I didn’t have my nodes checked at the same time. I had to go back a few weeks later for that. Better to get it all at one time so you know how to go forward. When I started my chemotherapy I felt more control of my life.

I’m so happy to hear your update! What awesome news! My husband had colon cancer. He wasn’t having any symptoms but I kept insisting he go get a colonoscopy. He did and that’s when the tumor was found! 😔 The surgeon did a resection of his colon to get the tumor out. The surgeon took 6 inches of his colon during the operation. The tumor was about the size of a half dollar they told us. The surgeon said he took out a large panel of his lymph nodes and the pathology came back that it was in 4 of them. His stomach was cut below his breast bone to his navel. He had 6 months of chemo. That’s been over 7 yrs ago and he’s doing great every time he goes for a checkup. I hope that’s a positive sign for you! Yes, you’re going to be here for all kinds of blessings Gina! 🙌🥰 I love 90210 too! I watched it every week! I’ve been praying for you hon! 🙏❤️

Glad to hear your cancer was localised, I have a strong family history of breast cancer so 5 years ago I had genetic testing done and there are over 13 gene mutations that greatly increase your chances of getting breast cancer. I have one of those so I have had preventative bi lateral mastectomy and preventative oopherectomy. Unfortunately you can pass this on to your children so they to need to be tested when they are adults. It's scary but knowledge is power 😊

So, you did find it through a self check? I do check weekly, but have to admit, i haven't had a mammogram. I'm so glad you had some good news that it hasn't spread.
Self exam in the shower!
Go get a mammogram!! The technicians I have had are so nice. My mom recently found that she has a very small invasive carcinoma that she and her doctor couldn't have found by a self exam. Very thankful it was caught early!
