never heard of a code geass kit. i loved the series a ton and it helped me get into a ton of other mecha anime. so glad i can put something on my shelf that represents my adoration for the show
they pretty much don't restock the geass kits anymore making the supply much worse than zeta, cca, and unicorn minor suits. There is a reason this was P-Bandai and not regular release. If you want the geass kits for a reasonable price, don't get your hopes up.
@@501clonetrooper they do restock it but its just painfully not that frequent. But yeah having a reasonable price with this kits are some thing you would not expect.
It got restocked last year that how I got mine. The Royal Coating ver.. Tho I gave to guess they aren't exactly hot items cuz it was pretty limited. The Guren and Lancelot sold out in my country but I can still see the Vincent and Alexander not budging much.
It turned out way better than expected. I Forgot to mention it in the video but I also gave the gold and red two healthy coats of mr hobby gloss topcoat to make it really shine
The titanium gold really gives the Lancelot a more regal look that was never quite there in the anime. I much prefer the paler shade of gold compared to the standard yellow gold.
My god, i just watched Code Geass for the first time in March as my birthday gift for myself, my mind was blown. Just how i haven't watch it long ago. Code Geass became my top 2 series off all time
Got this kit a while ago and I love the articulations and designs, I especially love that they decided to add the posing hand for the M.E. Boost and the holder to attach 2 Rifles which isn’t anime accurate but still cool as hell. Also if your planning to modify the kit in the future and cutting the connection pegs half way to make it easier to disassemble, be aware that the thigh parts are rly easy to fall apart (other parts connect together perfectly even if the pegs are cut halfway). So unless your not going to do any modification or custom builds immediately after you straight build the kit, I recommend you just done do anything with it. Having high hopes for the HG code geass lines, hopefully we get stuff like Lancelot Albion zero or Lancelot siN. Maybe even a HG Lancelot 2.0
Given how the RG line is now delving outside Gundam territory starting with Eva and now Gaogaigar, I was hoping to get RG's of the Knightmare Frames too; and I think it's very fitting. But hey, indeed this isn't as bad as I thought it would be. With that out of the way, sing it with me: JIBUN WOOOOOO....
Thank you, Mecha for putting more spotlight on Code Geass then it already has a lot of. It's my 2nd favorite anime of all time and even though I love Gundam, it's without a doubt my favorite mecha anime. Which is funny because unlike Gurren Lagann and Gundam, the mechas in that anime aren't the main focus. It's just a bonus/extra credit because I fell in love with the characters of Code Geass, not the Mechs.
I wouldn't say mechs in most Gundam anime are focused on anymore than in Code Geass. In some like Gundam 0080 and Hathaway I'd say the opposite is true.
The original Code Geass kits that came out as the show aired were so good for their time even if the Lancelot needed painting. The Guren Nishiki was perfect with its articulated claw hand. The Vincent was also good. Loved the purple Guildford custom. Shame the Sutherland and other grunts never got the same love. Would have built a squad of them!
We'll hopefully at least get a Guren mk2, but its probably too much to ask to get a full range of Knightmares from Code Geass. I would love to have a Burai or Sutherland kit so much.
I adore code geass so much and I'm glad to see they made a new updated kit after so long. Great vid as always. also, i really like the look of the silvery-gold you put on the Lancelot, it makes it look sort of angelic in a way since its much lighter.
Pre Ordered this one from BigBadToyStore and still waiting for it. Can’t wait to get it. REALLY hoping we get a Guren Seiten since I’ve always liked the Guren a bit more.
In the past, I've never really been a fan of non- Gunpla kits, they just didn't seem to have the same quality and detail of Gundam kits, I was always disappointed, even after painting and trying to modify the kit proportions to match the anime, so I just started to avoid them... but over the past year or so, that's no longer true, all the non- Gunpla kits you've been reviewing keeps amazing me, these kits are finally getting the attention to detail they deserve and I've done a complete 180 on my attitude... especially this Lancelot Albion... and I think the titanium gold makes it look better than original colors, as compared to the other images I've seen for this kit... it's a great idea, even if it was a kinda make do accident... lol... I'll be keeping my eye out to pick up this kit and copying your new color scheme... thanx for another great review and painting idea...
My sentiments exactly! They're really impressive now. I still have a couple of SRW ones, 84, Kyoukai senki and evangelion lying on the backlog that I need to get back to. Bandai have really been spreading the love to other series lately!
This looks so good, so excited that Bandai decided to do this. Really hope we get other kits from this line, would love to see some of the older kits get updated as well.
We can probably expect a Guren SEITEN soon enough, but I hope they don't stop there. There are a lot of awesome Knightmares that still have yet to get the model kit treatment. Gawain, Shinkiro, Zangetsu, Shen Hu, Gloucester, Tristan, Mordred, Galahad, and many more.
unfortunately thing for those hoping to get the hg code geass line is they pretty much next to never stock the kits anymore making the supply worse than some of the rarer hguc and mg uc. And as a p bandai kit, the price will be higher and a tougher sell.
My local hobby store got these in stock now so I'm going to head there and check the price. Will edit when I'm back. (EDIT: Wow I wasn't expecting it to be $49. I was expecting a little more)
We need kits for Issei Hyoudou’s Red Dragon Emperor Armor, and Vali’s White Dragon Emperor Armor, I mean they got wing blueprints already cuz of Lancelot, and Tail blue prints cuz of the Epyon Heat Rod
Love the review. The amount of stickers sucks but I'll keep my eye on this kit if I ever come across it. Also MechaG, I'm shocked you didn't try to put this in a "spinzaku" pose 😂
I really like the Titanium Gold though I think a shiny glossy gold would also look good... I think I might do a Flat red though. This is also a regular release in Taiwan!
meanwhile in the Super Robot Wars games Lelouch straight up pilots his own custom Wing Gundam Zero Endless Waltz version which has yet to be released as a kit, lol.
The only merch from code geass that I know of are detailed action figures and statues with some interchangeable parts but never model kits I'm so into this, tell us more. 😁
I loved code glass but I didn't think much about their mechas. Like tbh I couldn't tell you if you asked me, the names or designs of em lol I mostly stayed for the plot
The one this I wish this kit had was the cockpit and pilot figures from the old 1/35. Otherwise it’s an amazing kit! Great review, good to see Geass love from you. Also banger job on that color scheme! Got the Akito the exiled lineart gold. Also nice that this kit has a double rifle storage option, which the Albion has NEVER had before. Only one. I think gold tier is very fair and deserved, newer Bandai HGs come with fantastic color separation and articulation usually but they are skimped on the accessory’s because of it. The Geass kits can’t do that naturally, and so their color separation leaves something to be desired because of it (which is okay) .
Is it weird that i knew Code Geass more for it's ending before i ever knew it was a mecha anime? Mainly cos i learned of the show via anime lists on RUclips.
Has been in my shoping cart from time ago, Have been wondering if I should buy or not. Definitely will be in the buying list for a change. Thank for review
I got started on that old hg Lancelot and guren, I was looking for code geass merch and I found those kits along with the vincent. Those were the first kits I built before I even knew what I was doing and I built them using just the manual and some scissors.
I'd recommend taking a look at some of kotobukiya's non scale Muv-Luv kits. Despite being from the 2012s the have some interesting mechanics and details. When i was buildeing the F22 from Muv Luv i was blow away by the ridiculous shoulder movment. Double jointet shoulder armor with a sliding gimminck to enable mor atticualtion for the arm. Havent seen something like that on a bandai kit
It would've been nice to see the HG versions of Gurren lagann for Bandai's next model kit project that makes more easier and better to build than Goodsmile modelroid
I'm glad that the titanium gold worked. I was just working on a kit that I wanted to use the same spray for and it kept running and clumping on anything I tried it on. I hope mine was just from a bad batch and that isn't a regular problem with tamiya spray cans.
Really hoping Bandai gives the Guren an update like this. As much as I love the original kit (especially compared to the og Lancelot, I definitely recommend trying it out if you can find it at a reasonable price), it definitely feels like a kit from 2008.
Wow, didn't think that this thing would end up being as tall as my 1/144 Sinanju Stein kit. Damn. Now i have to consider if kitbashing with this is cknna be a good investment or not.
Bandai seriously needs to stop using P-Bandai for kits that would sell really well generally. Between this and the likes of the Sandrock Kai, it's really getting on my nerves.
Why stop at the Guren Mecha? The 2008 line barely scratched the surface when came to what units were made, but if this sells well enough Bandai might start a whole HG line. Hey if they can do it for Kyoku Senki and Super Robot Wars they can certainly do it for Code Geass... heck, I actually think they're over due! The Shinkiro, Tristan, Mordred, hell the Vincent could do with an update, and many others, it's a gold mine waiting to happen I tells ya!
I actually got into Code Geass thanks to Super Robot Wars. Same with a lot of other non-Gundam animes, like Getter Robo, the Brave series, and Metal Armor Dragonar. Definitely recommend these shows. Also, I have the Lancelot Albion kit, and it is definitely beautiful! :)
Honestly I think Code Geass and Mobile Suit Gundam iron blooded orphans are the most awesome anime robot series of all times and I think it would be cool if someone would actually mix them together has anyone ever tried that or even wanted to it'd be nice to know please.
never heard of a code geass kit. i loved the series a ton and it helped me get into a ton of other mecha anime. so glad i can put something on my shelf that represents my adoration for the show
Yeah I've only seen the action figures of the mecha, I think the Gawain had one?
they pretty much don't restock the geass kits anymore making the supply much worse than zeta, cca, and unicorn minor suits. There is a reason this was P-Bandai and not regular release. If you want the geass kits for a reasonable price, don't get your hopes up.

They were really bad compared to their contemporary 00 kits.
Oh no, no pilot??? The hunched over 1/35 Kallen was the absolute best part of the old HG Guren!
Hehe of course it was
I can hear "YES YOUR HIGHNESS!" once again... queue Suzaku Spin Kick.
YES YOUR MAJESTY!!
One is enough.... with LANCELOT ALBION
Idunno if it's the camera, or the lighting, or what, but that titanium gold looks absolutely GORGEOUS on that kit. Super great call.
It turned out way better than expected. I Forgot to mention it in the video but I also gave the gold and red two healthy coats of mr hobby gloss topcoat to make it really shine
The titanium gold really gives the Lancelot a more regal look that was never quite there in the anime.

I love Code Geass and the fact that it existed at the same period as Gundam 00 made those times special. Great mechs, animation, and story ❤️
Got this kit a while ago and I love the articulations and designs, I especially love that they decided to add the posing hand for the M.E. Boost and the holder to attach 2 Rifles which isn’t anime accurate but still cool as hell.

Having high hopes for the HG code geass lines, hopefully we get stuff like Lancelot Albion zero or Lancelot siN. Maybe even a HG Lancelot 2.0
I bought it and I love it. Man I wish they’d finally release Cornelia’s Gloucester and Todo’s Zangetsu.
Given how the RG line is now delving outside Gundam territory starting with Eva and now Gaogaigar, I was hoping to get RG's of the Knightmare Frames too; and I think it's very fitting. But hey, indeed this isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I’d love to see some RG Zords done, especially Dragon Caesar.
Thank you, Mecha for putting more spotlight on Code Geass then it already has a lot of. i wanted more but at the same time it wrapped up so perfectly
I wouldn't say mechs in most Gundam anime are focused on anymore than in Code Geass.
In some like Gundam 0080 and Hathaway I'd say the opposite is true.
The characters and the character design is the heart of Code Geass.
Oh shut up with that blasphemous nonsense about Gundam primarily being focused on the Mecha. You don't deserve to be here.
The original Code Geass kits that came out as the show aired were so good for their time even if the Lancelot needed painting. The Guren Nishiki was perfect with its articulated claw hand.

also, i really like the look of the silvery-gold you put on the Lancelot, it makes it look sort of angelic in a way since its much lighter.
The gold turned out much better than expected! I better have a nice silver ready in case they do plan to release a version of Guren!
Pre Ordered this one from BigBadToyStore and still waiting for it. Can’t wait to get it. REALLY hoping we get a Guren Seiten since I’ve always liked the Guren a bit more.
Keeeeeep waiting my friend, I haven't had a preorder fulfilled from BBTS since January. Best of luck to you though!
As the other person said, prepare to wait, then get ready to wait some more. Ordered from them before Christmas and it still hasn't even shipped.
In the past, I've never really been a fan of non- Gunpla kits, they just didn't seem to have the same quality and detail of Gundam kits, I was always disappointed, even after painting and trying to modify the kit proportions to match the anime, so I just started to avoid them... but over the past year or so, that's no longer true, all the non- Gunpla kits you've been reviewing keeps amazing me, these kits are finally getting the attention to detail they deserve and I've done a complete 180 on my attitude... especially this Lancelot Albion... and I think the titanium gold makes it look better than original colors, as compared to the other images I've seen for this kit... it's a great idea, even if it was a kinda make do accident... lol... My sentiments exactly! They're really impressive now. I still have a couple of SRW ones, 84, Kyoukai senki and evangelion lying on the backlog that I need to get back to. Bandai have really been spreading the love to other series lately!
They could do a rg, and maybe try putting the sword in the scabbard that would be sick
This looks so good, so excited that Bandai decided to do this. Really hope we get other kits from this line, would love to see some of the older kits get updated as well.
For your info Mecha, the color scheme you choose the muter gold titanium is based from the design from Code Geass Akito the Exiled between r1 and r2
We can probably expect a Guren SEITEN soon enough, but I hope they don't stop there. There are a lot of awesome Knightmares that still have yet to get the model kit treatment. Gawain, Shinkiro, Zangetsu, Shen Hu, Gloucester, Tristan, Mordred, Galahad, and many more.
i hope gawain comes after the seiten since its arguably lelouches most iconic knightmare
It'd be really awesome to get a SEITEN, especially if it gets the same treatment as the Albion
I ended up doing pretty much the same thing with my Tallgeese Flugel. I painted all the yellow red and light gray in metallic and it just pops so well
unfortunately thing for those hoping to get the hg code geass line is they pretty much next to never stock the kits anymore making the supply worse than some of the rarer hguc and mg uc. And as a p bandai kit, the price will be higher and a tougher sell.
I will pretend that I cant read just for this comment
I literally find it in a random manga shop, a surprise to be sure but a welcome one
My local hobby store got these in stock now so I'm going to head there and check the price. Will edit when I'm back.
(EDIT: Wow I wasn't expecting it to be $49. I was expecting a little more)
I still have the old HG Lancelot and Guren, this looks like a massive improvement over those.
The Land spiners are also supposed to go all the way out to the side in the original
I really like the Titanium Gold though I think a shiny glossy gold would also look good... I think I might do a Flat red though. This is also a regular release in Taiwan!
0:09 Add Eureka Seven to that list for me!
meanwhile in the Super Robot Wars games Lelouch straight up pilots his own custom Wing Gundam Zero Endless Waltz version which has yet to be released as a kit, lol.
Definitely buy that despite it being P-Bandai.
We need a Gawain, guren, and shinkirō. And the rest. I could see a lot of people buying.
Lancelot Albion in a form of a kit is really is an awesome kit to get for Code Geass collection.
Nice kit there.
Not gonna lie. I wish they’d also make some of the grunt units.
I ordered this from Gundam Planet and am still waiting, but I’m happy to know it will seemingly be worth the wait!
The only merch from code geass that I know of are detailed action figures and statues with some interchangeable parts but never model kits I'm so into this, tell us more. 😁
Back then there were model kits when the show aired but said kits are very scarce these days.
I'm definitely adding Tamiya Titanium Gold spray to my shopping list! 😀
I loved code glass but I didn't think much about their mechas. Like tbh I couldn't tell you if you asked me, the names or designs of em lol I mostly stayed for the plot
I have 2 of these. I can't wait to build them. I'm looking forward to see them release a 1/35 Guren SEITEN.
I managed to find a IFX-V301 Gawain a few weeks ago, can't wait to get the lancelot too!
The one this I wish this kit had was the cockpit and pilot figures from the old 1/35. Otherwise it’s an amazing kit! Great review, good to see Geass love from you. The Geass kits can’t do that naturally, and so their color separation leaves something to be desired because of it (which is okay) .
There needs to be a Master Grade line of the code geass knightmares
Code Geass to this day is still my favorite anime, nice to see their kits are getting some love.
Got one of these for myself and can't wait to build it. I really hope there's some more Code Geass kits in the future!
Is it weird that i knew Code Geass more for it's ending before i ever knew it was a mecha anime?
Mainly cos i learned of the show via anime lists on RUclips.
Has been in my shoping cart from time ago, Have been wondering if I should buy or not.

Thank for review

As a Code Geass fan I'm so glad i found this video i would definitely buy one once available
"Lelouch Vi Britannia commands you, all of you, Go watch Code Geass!"
Whew, I have the Royal Coating version of the old Lancelot, might as well pick this one in the store for comparison
AMAIM ghosr review when ?In all seriousness thanks for doing what you do, these reviews have been extremely helpful in building my collection!
I'd recommend taking a look at some of kotobukiya's non scale Muv-Luv kits. Despite being from the 2012s the have some interesting mechanics and details. Never forget Magic Knight Rayearth, their mecha designs way similar. 😍😍
That paint job looks sick
ITS A CODE GEASS KIT!? It looks so phenomenal!
Really wish they made more new Code Geass Knightmare Frames, especially a Grunts units.
YES! MECHA FINALLY REVIEWED THIS LETS GO
I have the robot spirits of Lancelot, but pre ordered this as well. Glad that it looks pretty decent
Code Geass franchise is my Favorite and the Best Anime 💙💙💙
Some guy : The perfect code geass kit doesnt exi-
The perfect code geass kit: am i a joke to you?
Thank you for reviewing LANCELOT ALBION ❤️
Really hoping Bandai gives the Guren an update like this. As much as I love the original kit (especially compared to the og Lancelot, I definitely recommend trying it out if you can find it at a reasonable price), it definitely feels like a kit from 2008.
And they did
Question for anyone who might know: What is the thing at 3:25 that Mecha Gaikotsu is building on?
Wondering the same thing!
Me happy code geass getting love in the form of a kit but a bit sad because as far as I know the mecha from buddy complex have no model kits
Except bandai is not confident that it would sell normal retail system
I'm so glad I pre-ordered this one.
The real questions is... Can it Spinzaku?
but the question is; can the kit pull the spin kick pose though?
They should reprint this more often, and also make more Code Geass kits.
Can't wait to see your Metal Build Guren review next year then.
that wing make me remember hakuryu albion from high school DXD :D
'One is all you need with Lancelot Albion'
I had been trying to hope for RG Lancelot when i first heard of Evangelion kits, sad for not able to get a Rg
Found it in a store, found your video... paid the model, thank you!
1/35 scale. Want to see a smaller enough one to pair with other gundams.
I have some serious, serious White Dragon Emperor vibes from those wings
Bandai,
we NEED mass produced Burei/Glasgow/Sutherland/Glouchester/Akatsuki ~
Why stop at the Guren Mecha?
The 2008 line barely scratched the surface when came to what units were made, but if this sells well enough Bandai might start a whole HG line.
Hey if they can do it for Kyoku Senki and Super Robot Wars they can certainly do it for Code Geass... heck, I actually think they're over due!
The Shinkiro, Tristan, Mordred, hell the Vincent could do with an update, and many others, it's a gold mine waiting to happen I tells ya!

I felt I would gate code geass when it premiered boy was I wrong what an excellent series
I'm liking that metallic finish
Imagine if this had been an RG.
I wanted Shinkiro to have the same treatment.
YES YOUR HIGHNESS This Adult Mecha Anime is on of Worth to watch anime
Honestly I think Code Geass and Mobile Suit Gundam iron blooded orphans are the most awesome anime robot series of all times and I think it would be cool if someone would actually mix them together has anyone ever tried that or even wanted to it'd be nice to know please.
Anyone else playing the new mobile game? Though it's only small changes and there are only 4 chapters, the story is pretty good.
You can almost hear the "JIBUUN WOOO-"
Man, wish I could've gotten the Albion now that there's a hg Guren Seiten on the horizon.
Wish the ahield would be see thru plastic or like the wings
mecha gaikotsu: you should check the show out
me:well ig imma leave the video now-
Ngl that wing look really cool
Mecha i think i can learn a thing or two if you make videos on how you prepped and paint kits
Honestly, if it wasn't for this review I literally forgot that Code Geass had mecha... That show put ur eye in other things
I'm pissed that this is p-bandai, I missed out unfortunately
I had NO idea this was coming
My fav is the color of the wings.
I couldn't resist buying one just now. MG got me to spend $50 and I'm so pleased with myself :D
I love how he put a meme as the title
I don't love the Code Geass designs, but those wings are GLORIOUS
