Man really got drunk and started reviewing
I'd expect his voice to be a lot different or have hiccups lmao
Dont blame the irish for their drinks
And yet that review is the most popular video on this channel
Same
Respect to Mecha for not only acknowledging his mistakes but make a fun self roast video out of them lol
He forgot to acknowledge he's a very basic builder.
Ashley J. You’re not wrong. That doesn’t mean that not painting your Gundam is bad but it definitely is basic
Ashley J. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. He isn’t an expert builder, but he made very detailed videos with good editing skills that make them very entertaining and easy to digest.
Besides, he doesn’t need to admit he is a basic builder, he has always been very straightforward and honest with his lazy panelining to sticker application.
Ashley J. you clearly have not watched Mecha a decent amount because in his tour of Gundam Base he says that he’s a lazy and basic builder.
I shall ruin the 444 likes count 😈
When you dont have haters that try to expose you
Mecha: "Fine, I'll do it myself"
That's what Thanos said.
No he has haters, I’ve seen them.
he have haters, their comment just sink, or they just dislike the video
Boy you'd be surprised how many groups on fb are full of haters trying to illegitimize the fact that he's a builder
@@alexisrodriguez6526 why? Because hes a straight builder

For anyone watching this in the future, the solvent in nail varnish that melts plastic is a common solvent used in nail varnish, and is also a component of plastic cements such as Tamiya thin and Tamiya extra thin, and that is Acetone. Acetone is notorious for, and actually used to dissolve styrenes and polymer plastics. If you're looking for a nail varnish to use on polycaps and joints, make sure it is acetone/acetate free.
Acetone dissolves so much....
oh, shit.
So ethyl acetate can melt plastic?
@@vinceamaro1382 it can, you should always test it first.

Mecha Gaikotsu : Guys, can you point out my mistakes when I review something up to this point ? Thanks.

Ah yes, the all famous mistake of calling force impulse gundam the destiny gundam.
Hehe, mistake gun go “brrrrrrrrrrt”

Genius.

With the way you spelled out that sentence,I agree.
As for the 1:100 Lupus Rex, there are leftover joint parts in the runners that are not mentioned in the manual but are actually compatible, tighter and will hold the mace better in certain poses. Mine is 2 years old with rare posing (since I do not play with my kits) but the joints still hold the mace without any aid!
Can’t watch Japanese Netflix as it doesn’t offer English subtitles. So if you speak Japanese it works. If it doesn’t you’ll waste ya munny.
Yeah found that out the hard way, even downloaded a plugin called Substitial to try and help, but NOPE
Some shows have full english subs it's on a shoe by show basis
Im hoping they only cancelled the mobile game part of urdr's hunt, and will release the anime after build divers wraps up
The Milkmann wait they cancelled it 😱

Seeing Barbatos hold that weapon with a single hand at the end is kind of impressive. I have that same kit and I had to pose it with the club over its head, held up by both hands.
10:28
Umm, how about when you rated MG Exia as 5/5 (in your 2nd collection tour), but gave it bronze tier in MG Dynames' review?
i could be mistaken, but that was an over time downgrade?
he seems to play with his gunpla a lot, the review comes out super fast.... a few weeks later he finds out that "stress test" that he applies to all his Gunpla equally will prove true or not
Now where is my alto grountype review
i respect a creator for admitting mistakes. I love it when they get honest about it rather than cover it up or down play them. Then there are people like this that honestly admit mistakes and make it informative and funny. I appreciate the kind of man or machine that Mecha Gaikotsu is.
"i dont paint my naild" that it self is a lie
For the nail varnish thing, anything with enamel and lacquer is potentially damaging to Bandai's plastic. They are a bit more sensitive compared to plastics being used by Tamiya, Airfix, etc. (Even though they all listed it as Polystyrene).
XD the ankle guard I mentioned before on your FB post and EVA RG review was literally in the first minute. I'm dying
Unicorn review: Go home Mecha, you're drunk.
Literally.
Mecha: I'm already home!
I'm super glad I watched this. I was genuinely thinking of using nail varnish one day if I ever got loose joints. Now I think I'll just save up for tamiya paint or even top coat at that
the nail varnish thing is VERY common in the action figure community, but bandai's plastic tends to be "softer" than normal plastic and is more susceptible to solvents. also, the proper method for using super glue (again, a thing from the action figure community) is to place a drop on the ball, snap it back into the joint, move it around, take it out, THEN let it dry. this evenly distributes the glue over the surface so you don't get any lumpy spots. it will absolutely cloud the plastic and will break down over time requiring more glue leading to broken joints and brittle plastic so don't mess with them too much after fixing them.
Glad to see HiRM has improved so much. The only HiRM kit I've built is the Astray Red Frame and I had no idea the Barbatos was so bad.
Just going back and rewatching some older Mecha videos, and holy smokes Batman, this aged like a fine wine! - 14:01
Mecha has since become Irish Ken Kaneki.
"I tried to show the kit at the best possible light"
Oh sure, like the time you cut MG Victory into pieces with hot knife? Like when you burned Super Fumina into bloody mess? Like the time you slap RG Sazabi around like a baboon playing with its prey?
Now they’re customs 😊
And the time he throwed gundam vidar from a second or third floor
yeah, he make Super Fumina and Hyper Gyanko looks so bad
@androyus I wouldn't necessarily call them "mistakes" i would more call them bad choice making as MGK wasn't wrong for cutting, burning, slapping, ect Gunpla it was just not the best way to go about that if you get what i mean. Also the kits he abused weren't exactly super rare or super high end kits, he wasn't burning a PG Phenex he was burning a Super Fumina which is one of the most hated kits out there so i don't think anyone really cared that much as for the Saz and Victory Hexa Dash Ver Ka. those shouldn't have been cut to bits or slapped but like i said their not rare, highly sought after, or highly praised so i think it was fine y'know.
@@lightningbw4711 doesn't matter, he didn't "tried to show the kit at the best possible light". hate it of love it, he should do a proper review
just started building gunpla last month, watched your video about the lazy way to tighten the joints using nail varnish.
i did that on my three of HG IBO kits, and then this video came out.
GETTING PANIC AF, check the tightened joints, and luckily it still good!!
GODDAMN!!
I used paint thinner to help panel line my gunpla. I ended up melting my Banshee...
God, Now I wanna know is there anymore time when you review a gunpla drunk.
And yeah, I use the Nail Polish top coat to tighten my gunpla joints, and it worked well. I guess i'm lucky.
Yeah, me too
If it works, I see the ingredients of some clear nail varnish and polish and some use acetone (wich melts the plastic) so be careful and read the components of the one you are gonna use
boi oh boi I was expecting the RG Astray Red Frame one to be included. In the video, you said something along the line of "the waist joint really likes to fall off" which turned me away from the kit for a while until I revisited and saw a comment saying that you didn't push it in far enough. Awesome little kit and that "flaw" that was in your video were nonexistent.
That ad is the content I subscribed for XD
I'm from the future. you do paint your nails
Surfshark should give you extra money because your ad read was so good that as I skipped through it, I stopped on a dog in a box and the awesome voiceover, and ended up rewinding to watch the whole thing.
me when I see joseph look in the keyhole and see an ad:*OH MY GOD! HOLY 5H1T*
Next vid: times mechgai mentioned "giggidy giggidy"
TLDR: "I was to drunk to pull a part, that is number 5"
I've taken the joint thickening trick to heart and use one of my gundam markers (black, matte) almost exclusively for it... But you can't use it on everything, either. I've broken one wrist (alex 2.0) and one knee (zeta plus unicorn ver), because it was more than the plastic can sometimes take....
Many, even most, kits though? Get those tight joints to hold poses!
Heyo Mecha. Did you have a source for those ingredients that are in Some nail polish that eat plastic? i know acetone does, but couldn't find a list.
Love your videos BTW, helped me pick a bunch of Gundams to build and the shelf is looking mighty fine.
I remember using glue as a solution to tighten up the joints, as I realized a few days later, the joint was a bit loose again, so I took it off and realized that I had melted 2/10 of the joint away. Definitely won't be putting joint back into the socket without waiting for it to dry.
0:48
That light mode view though
Kinda funny that right at the end, I notice one of the chest vents is missing from your MG RX-78-02, as you're asking for us to point out some mistakes. XD
Will you be reviewing the sd barbatos lupus Rex?
This video is the demonstration of your maturity and clarity. It's always difficult for everyone to admit his own defaults or wrong choices, but when you are a content creator I think is even more difficult.
For this you have all my respect as person, something I already had but now a little bit stronger than before.
Have a nice day!
Phew, the nail varnish I got hasn't melted anything
can anyone find out what exactly are the chemicals that nail polish/varnish contain that CAN melt plastic? im using clear acrylic nail polish and ive never melted anything, but just to be safe right?
Check your varnish carefully if it’s water based it’s fine if it’s solvent based it’s not fine
Hey Mecha Gaikotsu
Is your RG Unicorn gundam hip joints still good???
Mine is broken
Random question:
Which kit would be better?
The MG RX 78-2 Ver.Ka or the MG RX 78-02 the Origin (not the special ver.)?
Thank you for that because I used the clear nail polish on the shoulder of my high grade barbatos and it just straight up melt it so I have to use Gundam 00 arm as a substitute.
Eyy, I remember back when you said that Barbatos and Hajiborshi were the same thing.
Nail varnish does work providing you research what's best for plastic BUT remember to test on runners first even if it works on one kit it might not on another - remember those polycaps even though they have the same number every batch is different even on the same kit ( I've built two barbatos lupus Rex and found that the caps have been different one set was slightly softer than the other )
I’m new to the channel, I just got stationed in japan, and I’ve heard all about chuhais and as soon as you said the cup was to blame I knew
The Tertium's beam sabers can be stored in the Seltsam cannon binder.
speaking of the Tertium, you know the open thumbs up hands that come with it? THOSE hands hold the beam sabers.
@@doorbladder5735 More specifically, the leg beam cannon barrels of the Seltsam, which is what Bandai used for the HG Mk. III's beam cannons.
One of the things we must mention about HG Varguil's funnel racks placement got wrong.
Damn, I feel like I got a Gundam STD. Now I gotta let everyone I told the nail polish tip to know that they should check their models lmao
Number 1 is a helpful precaution, some chemicals in different kinds of paint definitely ate or melt specific plastics that cause breakage.
Mecha, my final helpful tip to you is Never use a GodHand Nipper on Clear plastics AT ALL! Thin metal-nipper breaks when cutting a sturdy, durable plastic which is why Thicc-nippers is a must. xD
This popped up on recommended. He still didn't learn to put the ankle armour on the Eva properly. :)
my favorite mistake is the one I pointed out on the MG Impulse
Might need to do another of these... Maybe have it be a Annual video?
Also Urdr Hunt isn't so much cancelled or anything like that but put into a delayed status not only because of the Virus but also a issue with some of the licensing for the game. And apparently them not being able to settle on how they actually want the game to work... (Apparently some form of Tactical RPG, Action RPG, or something like the Gunpla Warfare game is in the lead right now.)
Honorable mention: RG Astray Red Frame's waist
Just wondering if you've ever built the very first HG Gundam to come out, the RX-78-2 which came out way back in 1990. If not yet, then you might want to check it out as it might be old, but there are surprises there as well for such an ancient kit.
From where you buy gundam kits
Apparently the latest and greatest video on EVA unit-0, you still got the ankle guard upside down... both of them LMAO
The best thing to tighten plastic joints with is Pledge floor wax with Future brand acrylic varnish. You can also use it as a topcoat if you want a glossier finish on a part.
A bought a huge bottle of that stuff at Walmart for five or six bucks a few years ago. I still have plenty left to this day. It also works well for a gloss topcoat since it self-levels.
as a substitute for varnish/paint, if you live in the US or UK, your nearest comic/hobby store almost certainly sells warhammer stuff. you can pick up a tub of "'ard coat" a type of painted-on topcoat used in the war-gaming community which works really well for tightening joints.
I believe the story of Urdr-Hunt is being released through the Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS G app, which was the game which first featured Gundam Marchosias itself as well - at least, through screenshots of it in-game. I personally think that if they went this far already for Marchosias, Hajiroboshi and the story it comes from will follow in due course... But that's just me.
I use nail varnish on my kits to tighten joints and I make sure it's the right type. If you're going to use it use a spare runner or something to test that it doesn't melt it.
0:39 "SO ITS TIME TO EXPOSE MYSELF. Oh wait."
Me putting nail varnish on the joints of my MG Exia, RIP Exia... (Nothing melted or broke yet so should be fine lol)
Okay, that ad read was pretty neat.
What is that name of the gunplay at 15:18 that looks like a half-built unicorn
As soon as I saw spooky being the net gremlin, I fell in love with the video
To tighten joints i use my girlfriends nail polish. Drys quick and works great. Also the super glue one works too as well as paint but it has to be a thick paint. Works none the less.
Guess i have been lucky with the Joint Tightning then. I used clear Nail Polish ever since you posted that vid and worked way better then glue or paint ever did for me. And 0 melted plastics.
MG duel gundam does have a ab crunch it’s just a little stiff I had to get that out there
Wait why did you say that now I litteraly just applied some on one of my gunpla like an hour ago WHY
May the Gunpla Gods bless you with good luck so that your joints don't melt.

I use a gundam marker to tighten up joints. Has been working for me for years
The rg unicorn knee, I recommend you push the part inside the leg instead, I pulled it by that calf section but tore right off with little strength. S$80 wasted
I hope my PG Perfect Strike arrives before lockdown
Can you actually watch Gundam all the way through on Netflix? I can’t find the movies
BRUHHH I WAS JUST TIGHTENING MY HG BARBATOS' JOINTS WITH VARNISH WHILE WATCHING THIS VIDEO THEN THE LAST ERROR SHOWED UP LMAO
It's funny because yesterday I watched the video about how to fix lose joints and now RUclips recommends me this. I'm glad because I was going to try it
Is it safe to buy from Amiami and Hobbylink Japan now?
Also the ranking of wargreymon was silver when you reviewed it, then on the omnimon when you compared them you said it was gold tier.
Edit: Not that its bad just saying
Nice dog! When will the review come?
At 0:18 when you say thank you I hear... Tank You.
I had just started using Nail varnish lol, seem to have gotten lucking on my kits, but s pill of it on some lower grade plastic did cause some damage, so I think I'll stop using it now lol.
well that explains why my eypon wing joint melted a bit.....XD
acrylic should be fine on straight plastic but anything stronger like enamel or lacquer will eat away the plastic if left on for too long or in large enough quantities. Found this out the hard way on my first master grade a while ago. Not a happy night.
One trick I've always used for loose joints is putting a tiny piece of tissue paper or toilet paper around the joint before inserting it. It adds mass so the joint holds better, it's safe, and it's totally reversible if you need to remove it for some reason.
Me: *sees this
Also me: *cleansed
*sees the ad* Hey! Gimme back my glasses!
wait, they canceled the IBO app??
Besides the teaser PV that was released months ago, there has been literally zero news regarding the app since then.
Someone mentioned a couple of times that floor polish is good for fixing lose joints.
#1 - Is a legit method. You just lacked additional information on what kind of nail polish should be used. This the same with using paint as well... some paint aren't plastic friendly.
I always thought that how Mecha transformed his rg unicorn was correct, the correct way is so much easier now
a giveaway once in a while would be cool :p
My mistake was the arm joints was upside down of earthree gundam
