I created a game for the 2022 Big Festive Game Jam called R&Dy and it ended up winning first place. This is the third video of a series where I show the entire process of creating it start to finish.
In this video, I add some recipes, a new structure that produces ideas, a background, and more!
If you like the video and want to see the rest as they come out, feel free to subscribe!

Aww that's so kind. Thank you so much!
This is definitely my favourite dev log series yet!
Thank you!
Wow
Wow
Fantastic Job on all these dev logs. They really show a lot of the idea creation process with game creation. Just a idle suggestion but maybe make a deep dive into the code for your major systems, that would be really fun to watch as well as informational on the programming needed for game dev. This is just a suggestion and keep going in whatever direction you fell is best. Thanks for the great videos(:
I'd love to do a video on making systems for some particular type of game, but I'm not sure a game jam is the best option. I usually focus on getting things done rather than doing them in the best way, and learning how to make things based on jam projects could give people a skewed idea of good practices.
Nice progress for one day. Noice
Awesome, bro
Whoa that dictionary looks so clean in the inspector window. How did you do that? Is that something you made yourself or an asset I could get on the asset store? Nice Devlog btw.
Wait I just read the other comments lol.
Sam hogan and all the high sub coding people work just as hard as you do. Let’s hope the algorithm blesses you too!
It already has blessed me a lot! Thanks!
Is the nested dictionary at 0:53 custom programmed or in built? I have forever struggled with nested arrays etc (for some strange reason, they should be used not nearly as much as I do).
If you mean the serialization in the inspector, that's a part of the asset "Odin Inspector." It has made my life 1000x easier and I would 100% recommend the asset to EVERYONE.
@@i_am_phibian Thank you very much! I also just finished watching all the devlogs and I must say, I think the game looks very nice
Timelapses are cool but maybe not all the time, it becomes difficult to follow
Sorry about that. It makes recording and editing a lot easier to do a lot of timelapses and talk over them, but I'll try to do less in the future. Thanks for the feedback!
tbh i only came here to find the recipe for rpg
Haha it's action + combat or smth I think
@@i_am_phibian it was action + story im pretty sure, but also, why is deltarune rpg + **happy** ? It's a bit odd given the main character's struggle with control of their own body and another character's possible death of their own sister and eventual manipulation by a childhood friend to kill another.
