I created a game for the 2022 Big Festive Game Jam called R&Dy and it ended up winning first place. This is the first video of a series where I show the entire process of creating it start to finish.

As one of the participants in the same game jam, its so cool to see other people's thought process with their game! Congrats on grabbing that W!
Thanks homie :)
Huh, Celeste music. Pretty nice choice. Also, nice devlog.
Thank you! I love Celeste and it seemed to fit with the vibe I was going for, so it was a clear choice for me.
This looks EXTREMELY high quality, I also like the art style. Keep it up, you got a new sub.
Oh wow very nice devlog, you got a new subscriber.
same
This is such a cool blend of genres, great job!
Thank you!
Really good video editing and great game design for such a small channel, you deserve more bro, keep it up!
Thanks!
the polish of the game looks RIDICULOUSLY good considering the time frame. good job!
Thanks!
your video's are super polished!, love the art style and your game concept is really cool! one of my favourite devlog style channels!
Thanks! Much appreciated!
This did not make me cried, it made me laughed
I don’t know who you think you are buddy, but that is not the way we do things around here

@@ratking4713 Idk why but this reply is hilarious
Hi, this video is really well done. Very helpful and calming. As someone who is going to participate in a jam soon I would find it incredible helpful if you could also place a timer so you can tell how much time you spent on which thinks.
That could be difficult. I have a tendency to jump around between different things very quickly and randomly. If you want to know how long I spent on something, there's a clock in the bottom right that says what time I worked on it.
You're an inspiration
Aww that's sweet. Thanks, glad I could inspire someone.
This is cool
Nice❤❤
Hey very cool video and very interesting to see your workflow. Will enjoy the rest of the series!!! Quick question what program did you use to create the art?
I used Aseprite for the art. It's a great pixel art program, I would say the best.
:D do you plan to do detail tutorial on some of these? The grid system looks cool on inspector at 7:21
That grid system is the 2D array drawer in the Odin Inspector asset. It's not my code that makes it do that. I'd love to do a tutorial on the grid placement stuff, though, if enough people ask for it!
@@i_am_phibian It looks interesting, so I hope you do someday :)
@@i_am_phibian Would love to see a tutorial on the grid system, placing stuff, how conveyor belts work, etc!
How do you spell the language that your friend mentioned?
Gothagibbothagerothagish according to him.
You made it so perfectly. You are my inspiration on start making games btw I would love to ask dont you use any game engine i saw u do code only on vs studio like please gimme some explanation thanks.
I use the Unity game engine for all my projects. It uses C# for scripting. Also, thanks for the kind words! Glad I inspired someone to make games ☺️
@@i_am_phibian Ya thanks for replying and telling the engine I am downloading it and I am gonna learn how to make games, Seriously u are my inspiration I really loved ur game
good taste in music
Thanks!
Can you explain your "firstpass" assembly? How exactly do you use it?
love it, but can you make the music little bit lower please? :) sometimes i get lost in the noise and lose focus :)
Please make full steam game from it.
Is your friend in the beginning Parker?!!
No. Who is Parker?
What a youtube
Thanks!
great devlog series but i do think it would’ve been nice if you put a lot of these short videos just into one rather than multiple lol having to click the next video after 2 -4 mins not as easy as just watching a nice 20 min vid
I appreciate that advice. I would do this for a shorter jam, but unfortunately from what I understand the RUclips algorithm doesn't like single much longer videos as much as larger quantities of shorter videos over a longer timespan. Thanks to the way I did things (I believe), more people ended up finding the videos.
@@i_am_phibian awe yes got to please the algorithm gods didn’t think about that
