If the only specification of Win 11 that you don't meet is CPU generation, you have at least tpm 1.2, and you meet all of the requirements otherwise, you can just use the microsoft registry key provided in the "ways to install windows 11" website, and you can install from ISO file straight from microsoft without having to use the github stuff. I always liked installing feature updates in windows 10 from an iso anyways, you can just double click on it and it automatically mounts, it's a good built in feature, since win 8 you don't need daemon tools and the like.

True, but almost all 2017+ CPUs suport windows 11. We are in 2024, you can't really say it requires new PC hardware.
Yes there are CPUs like 3700X 7700K etc that performance wise can run windows 11 no problem. But by the time they remove suport for windows 10 (end of 2025) you can't really complain about the requirements.

I strive to do such on my channel and support others that do the same. Your video is incredibly easy to follow and, at the time I'm typing this comment, prepping to install Win 11 22H2 on my One-Netbook One Mix 4. One Netbook no longer supports this particular laptop and in 2021 they mentioned they'd put a BIOS upgrade download on their website to enable TPM on the One Mix 4 to install Windows 11. Sadly, it was never done. With your method, I am now going to have Win 11 on my One Mix 4! I immensely thank you for your knowledge and video guide to make this happen.

@CyberCPU Awesome video and I think your one of the BEST Windows 11 content creators out on RUclips, but there is two things that I need to comment about: 1) People need to run Windows Update after the 22H2 install when they get back into the operating system. I just did this with a new .ISO file and there was 4 updates pending (two for MS antivirus and 2023-04 and 2023-05 updates). The other thing is, many people forget, but M$ told the masses that "Windows 10" would have free updates for life, and that was going to be "their last operating system". This whole thing with saying "better security" so a TPM is needed, was just a cleaver ploy to try and sell more of their hardware partners computers with Windows 11 installed as they get a "cut" of those sales. I'm old, and I've install every single version of Windows as far back as Windows 2.1 and MS-Dos, not to mention Linux first distros and others. End game, I think you are right in regards to Microsoft allowing this sort of install as I truly believe they understand that they overstepped a bit in excluding their loyal customers and older hardware that again works "just fine" with lower cpu requirements and no TPM.

I had to do a clean install and the server installer was a version of the Windows 11 Pro build that disregarded the checks and that made installation possible on my partially supported Surface Pro. Stable so far and the best features are the improved taskbar with drag and drop support and finally - a tabbed file browser! 22h2 for that alone is worth the feature upgrade over the previous build.

After doing that everything just worked fine so I decided to go on with this video to install version 22H2 of Windows 11. But before starting I, just out of curiosity, checked which version of Windows 11 was actually installed. Big surprise because it turned out to be already version 22H2. I suppose that this has everything to do with the fact that at the time you published the first video version 22H2 was not yet available but now it is. Good guide, this is how I upgraded mine except one difference: There is no reason to use the media creation tool, nor a USB stick. It's in fact part of the reason it went so slow. Just download the .iso instead, since you have a SSD, it will install much much faster just using the default built in windows 11 .iso mount. It's 100% the same process from there, run the .exe after you've ran AveYos bypass script. It will install directory from your SSD just fine. USB is only useful for installing clean, not ideal for upgrades.
However was hoping someone found a work around that does not involve using the install.. Since i believe if you have a supported system and use windows update, you just get 100% of your settings / registry entries retained. While the installer method claims it will keep your files, programs and settings.. It does reset some settings, namely windows system registry changes you may have made.

    • @NormanF62
      @NormanF62 Год назад

Its unnecessary to use a USB stick today. If you have the official LabConfg registry hack installed, all you really need to do is download the official Microsoft Windows 11 iso. Mount it, and double click to run it and do the upgrade. If don’t have that already installed, then you will need to configure the installer (according to the instructions in this video) first prior to running it.

None of the requirements for Windows 11 mean a thing
    Windows 11 Requirements:
    TPM 2.0
    I'm running 11 without a TPM chip
UEFI - Secure Boot Capable Firmware
Nope - I'm running with an old school BIOS
    EFI Boot Partition
Nuh Uh - I'm running on an MBR partition
    64GB Minimum partition size
Backups can be restored to any reasonable size partition - including 32GB
    Supported CPU
I'm running on a Sandy Bridge
    Internet Connection
    Nope!
    Microsoft Account
    Absolutely NOT!
Rollback option to Win 10 is only 10 days (HA)
Install 11 to a separate SSD and boot to Win 10 whenever you like
Cannot be transferred to another PC (Double HA)
I can run Windows 11 on 5 different computers and it remains activated on all of them
I even tried running the same backup of Win 11 on several computers at the same time while online, and they all remained activated and received updates
Each and every copy was activated from the same original computer from a single installation

Microsoft killed the ability for Windows 10 and 11 to be installed as a Windows2Go installation on a thumbdrive
      Well.......
Not only can I still run a Windows2Go installation from a thumbdrive, but I'm running a full Windows2Go installation on a SATA SSD using a standard MBR partition
My "guess" is that Microsoft HAD to kill Win2Go installs because they remained activated on multiple computers at the same time, all of which were activated from a single licensed copy of Windows
What is your guess as to why they tried to kill Win2Go ?

I did that last week, and it works perfectly after tweaking with ThisIsWin11 and StartAllBack. It is slow at first, but now you might say it's faster than 10 most of the time. I do notice some sluggishness due to higher memory usage, but it isn't unbearable.

Even HyperV is working and Android subsystem for Windows. Heck it still works faster than my Surface Laptop 4 work laptop, including Start menu Search when looking for local applications, so I fail to understand this. I have some old PCs that aren't compatible and I use a similar trick to upgrade from 21H2 to 22H2. I downloaded the Win11 iso from the MS website, then I used Rufus to create a Win11 flash drive without TPM/Secure boot. Because these PCs are incompatible they can't use the MS Upgrade Assistant tool or receive the new 22H2 via Windows Update. So, the only way to upgrade to the new version of Windows is to use USB Flash Drive that bypasses TPM and CPU checks. I found if you have a TPM on some old platforms but the CPU is not compatible you can use Media Creation Tool and make an official Win11 Flash drive and you can upgrade because it checks for TPM but not the CPU. It works on 6/7 gen Intel with Firmware TPM enabled and old motherboards with TPM 2.0 or 1.2 chip.
I don't know why but the Upgrade Assistant tool checks for both TPM 2.0 and CPU. But Media Creation Tool checks only for TPM no matter if the version is 1.2 or 2.0, so you can install or upgrade with TPM 1.2 and old CPU 😄

  • @NormanF62
    @NormanF62 Год назад +1

You should consider whether your PC can run Windows 10, it can probably run Windows 11. If you have 32 bit hardware, Windows 10 is the end of the line. In most cases, TPM/secure boot isn’t the problem; its your chip and you will want the installer to skip checking for chip compatibility and you should be fine.

The easiest way to avoid this is to run the media creation tool on the PC you are upgrading and accept the default region options it provides.
