    If this is a another Phison E18 reference drive with 176L Micron NAND like the Pro XT, It's impressive it was able to pull ahead of the Firecuda 530. Corsair is also very price competitive for this gen. I'm thrilled with mine.

    Thanks a lot Techtesters... Finally my search for secondary game drive is over with this white 2TB model. I got this for 130$ bit high than usual selling price but right now all high end drives are expensive 170$ for 2TB 980 PRO and 180$ for 990 PRO $155+ for KC3000 in my region, I was about to buy ADATA S70 Blade 2TB for 85$ 4 months before, however found your video and dropped it. My friend got S70 Blade 1TB as main boot drive and he suffered a lot. I will be putting this in gen 3 slot only as now, I do not see any fast good drive less than this price even 970 evo plus is 150$ for 2tb variant which has DRAM. (I personally had bad experiences with DRAMless drives, and not going to trust them any time soon even how good they are).

    Thank you foir the review, I love how you puit the side by side technical specs in your review. I opted for the Corsair. It is defenatly the best bang for your buck compared to the other top 5 PS5 SSD's. Mainly WD Black, Firecuda, Samsung 980, Kingston Renegade Fury, the ADATA and last but not least the Seabrent. Corsair beats all of them in price and with a solid reputation like Corsairs, it's a done deal.

    So i've been dying to get this answered for a while now.. Most if not all sellers (Megekko, Alternate, Azerty ect ect to name a few) claim and state this M.2 is 'optimized' for PS5 usage.
    im sitting in my game room with a gaming PC and the lack of a PS5 and wondering, why is it optimized for PS5.. can pc gamers not benefit from the drive?
    but..
    This review video answered all my questions!

    • @TechTesters
      @TechTesters  Год назад

      I've asked several brands before and none had an answer to the question "What did you do to optimize it for the PS5?". Other than that they promise it works in a Playstation it's pretty much just marketing.

    • @JK-xn4mj
      @JK-xn4mj Год назад

      Just to explain further; the reason why it’s “optimised” for PS5 usage isn’t just marketing.
      The entire reason why it has a smaller heatsink than its predecessor as the video mentions and shows, is because it now fits perfectly into the PS5’s extension M.2 storage slot, whereas the old one stuck out a bit and the extension plate that covered up the slot was unable to be closed because of the size of the heatsink.
      I know this as a PS5 owner who recently just bought and installed this into his PS5. Nothing wrong with using this on a PC, but you might as well get its predecessor if you want maximum cooling since the larger heatsink will be slightly more helpful.

      @@motoryzen Why so angry? I was just stating facts. The company (Corsair) advertises this SSD as the Ps5 SSD with the mentioned specs. On all the other reviews, videos, posts it shows they are almost all at the constant 6500 speed in a Ps5, which says this is a defective one. Ps5 not as powerful to run the SSD to full spec? The samsung M.2 and Seagate, and a few others run at 6700-7800 on the PS5, looks like it is PLENTY powerful enough if the SSD itself is "good enough" which apparently the corsair is not, or it suffers from a high defective rate.

    Due to the PCI E 4.0 the PS5 is sorta worse then the PS3 at launch affordability wise. But the 2 step for it doesn't really make it seem so.
    (Step 1 buy PS5 Step 2 buy M.2.) Especially if you wish to have above 1tb of storage on the SSD.

  • @robertboyd321
    @robertboyd321 Год назад

    Only the 2TB & 4TB are the fast ones. The 1TB is slow in comparison, but it still has more than enough grunt for a PS5. I wouldn't use it in a PC though..
    But still, for this application -USING IT IN THE PS5 the 1TB version does have reasonably respectable read speeds (faster than the standard PS5 read speed), but unfortunately the write speed lets it down because it is rather slow & only very slightly above the standard PS5 write speed.
    But the price is good and anything bigger is wasted money & overkill in a PS5 anyway.
