gorgeous i just learned to play this sng today its one of my favorites!
@arpolwest1 we string players do that so the tone of the song wont be so loud. if we put all the hair on the bow, the sound that comes from within the violin through th f-holes will be too loud for this musical piece, so in order for the violinist to play this with more feeling and less resonating sound, we tilt the bow and use less pressure when playing so that it doesnt sound choppy and overbearing.

@Karl88ful thats how you're supposed to hold a vioin bow when playing its always pointed away from the bridge and i think it's opposite for the cello

@Karl88ful When you tip your bow over like that it can lend to a softer tone rather then the full force harsh tone that the flat bow hair creates. Also, it is better to play with it tipped over when you are trying to blend in an orchestra setting. Just fyi :)

I can't figure out what notes she's hitting from this video. I'm a beginner violinist and I can't seem to find an instructional video anywhere. This is just telling me to start off on a1 then what? I can't read music and I've been trying to make my own violin tab with the string name and the finger position. Can anyone help me out with this song please? Thanks.
why when I press the same stings my violin does not sound like this video. I tuned with digital tuner for violin on 450 degree and my violin is a good violin. I start tuning from string A as I was said to do so. Where am I doing wrong?? please help me. :((

First mistake 16 seconds in. This version is originally written in 6/8, not 4/4...
@animalplanet90 Chances are your violin's newer. x3 The old ones are the ones that sound wonderful. Also, it's best to start tuning at either G or E. I like starting with E, myself.. Since it's the scariest. =.= Also, some tuners, those complicated ones? They're not really as good as the ones that blatantly tell you what you're hitting that just have power buttons. Simple ones are

@Karl88ful because that is how you are meant to hold the bow and use i would now i am doing violin and that is how my teacher told me to use
i wanna learn to play a violin...
despite me being a guitarist, and the lack of frets on a violin.. it seems moderate in dificulty... after that id love to learn a cello.. and maybe a banjo....
i know they make violins, banjos, and cellos, etc. with frets, but it seems like cheating to me... plus they look weird...
