Dear Mr. Todd i'm immensely grateful to u for making this video. Currently i'm doing my thesis and now on the part of data analysis thru SPSS. Ur video is a life saver for me! Ur video saved atleast 48hrs of my life! thank u so much sir!
I can’t express how grateful I’m for your efforts in making this easy and simple for SPSS and research newbies such as my self. Thank you soooooo much Doctor Grande 😭💜💜💜💜
Interesting! Great videos! I don't think I will ever be transferring data from Excel to SPSS, but it is great to be introduced to all of this information and to know that all of these videos are available.
Very helpful, Thank you But I will like to know how the data and label is showing beneath the excel sheet (where they normally display sheet 1, sheet 2) that you used to code initially, cause
Thank you for your great demonstration, dear Dr. Grande, It would greatly facilitate our learning process--and I would appreciate immensely--if you could share some sample files of both EXCEL and SPSS.
Thank you so much for the great explanation. What about importing a single excel file with diffrent sheets to SPSS, I can only see the first sheet , how can I find the others? Thank you so much.
Thanks Todd for the video! It is great. I have a question. I've done all the changes on my variables in "variable view" but doesn't know how to save it. When I open my data again they all gone!!!
Hi Dr Dr. Todd Grande I was following your videos for my SPSS training. They are really helpful. I was trying to create a bar chart where I wanted to plot the median value with IqR against several categorical variables in a single graph. But I could not make it. Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks for the video. I have a question please. Does it matter where I save the excel file? I'm saving it on Desktop and it's taking forever to be imported. Plus, when I try to save it not on the desktop, it even doesn't show me that the excel file exists there.
thanks for this. I have a question. When I imported my excel data sheet, noted SPSS has recognied some V24, V87 etc... which I looked them seem to be the blank columns which I don't understand how it detacts them. What's the reasons of this and how to deal with it? many thanks
creating number for Nationality is easy if you are collect data from few different country people..........because it save time and effort and but if you collect data from lot of country it is easy to collect data without number..........if some or few country people is repeat lot of time give them number ...........
Hello Dr, Thank You for your video. I have a question. When I close my Spss document and reopen it, everything gets deactivated. I see all the data I’ve saved but I am not longer able to continue my work by inserting new data. It’s very frustrating. I hope you can help me with this. Thank you in advance.
I uploaded a .xlsx file to SPSS. In the Variable View screen, I changed the data type from String to Numeric. After making it, in Data View screen, I find that entries for that variable have been deleted completely. How I can fix it?
thank you for the helpful video. althou, i have a problem. When i import my data, all my variables show up but the actual data part on spss comes up empty. How do I solve this?
How do you import averages of variables into SPSS? The averages are from centre of pressure variable for an experiment in biomechanics. They are all numeric data
Hello- I hope you can help me. When I try to import my data it says Serialization Scheme was not recognized. Then it says the file cannot be oped as a data file. When I hand input all the data into SPSs I still could not analyze the data as I received an error message DESCRIPTIVES VARIABLES=Patient_Treated Injured_by Devices_Used_from_kit >Error # 9233. Command name: DESCRIPTIVES >The procedure could not be executed because a required external module was >either not readable or corrupt. >Execution of this command stops. /STATISTICS=MEAN STDDEV MIN MAX. dlopen errno(2): No such file or directory dlopen(/Applications/IBM/SPSS/Statistics/23/SPSSStatistics.app/Contents/bin/../lib/libspsswcde.dylib, 10): image not found Could you tell me what is going on. Thanks. Heidie
??? A l'aide s'il vous plaît !!!
I've been trying this but it won't work. Every time I attempt to open the excel document in excel it says 'Error accessing the Excel file. If the file is open in another application, please close it and retry.' I have tried this several times and it still won't open. I even tried renaming the file and copying the content to a brand new excel document/window and that still doesn't work. Could it be due to the version of excel and or SPSS I have? where both of them aren't compatible or something like that?
Save your excel sheet differently with a new name (optional). Do a thourough cleaning of irregularities. You can even Sort the data , e.g A-Z. Make sure in a colon no mixture of string values with figures along the columns. Then try import again.

Good evening , How would you a change a string variable that was imported from excel to a numeric variable ?
Hello! Why did you change the categorical variable (Gender) from its original label to values (0, 1)?
Thanks for the video. I have a question please. Does it matter where I save the excel file? I'm saving it on Desktop and it's taking forever to be imported. Plus, when I try to save it not on the desktop, it even doesn't show me that the excel file exists there.

Hello, the age in my study is in the form of age group, should i convert it numerically or should i leave it as it is
Thank you sir
How did you code? I can’t figure out how to do it
What about the Age? how to code this? as I have the age as a category eg. 18-24
Good Day Todd. Please assist me with the following: Would i need to create numbers for open-ended questions like Nationality.
creating number for Nationality is easy if you are collect data from few different country people..........because it save time and effort and but if you collect data from lot of country it is easy to collect data without number..........if some or few country people is repeat lot of time give them number ...........
Thanks a lot!!!! Lifesaver!
Which test would you use for those data? ANOVA or MANOVA?
It would depend on the research question, however, an ANCOVA would be a good fit here. The pretest would be the covariate.

Is it possible to enter data of more than one option in a single cell and analyze in SPSS. (Example: value 1, 4 in a single cell)
Easier to use Sort&Filter to do the find and replace
Thank you.
thank you for the helpful video. althou, i have a problem. When i import my data, all my variables show up but the actual data part on spss comes up empty. How do I solve this?
Уянга Э same problem i have. What is the solution to it?
thanks!
Thanks

amazingly simple..
Hello,
What if we have more than 1 response to write in a cell? Is it possible? Like "what's your favorite day to run?" "Monday, Wednesday, Friday".
THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHH
Why do we need to do coding 2 times?
how to automatically generate variable view including with values from exce to spss?
Thanks Sir
