    I am experiencing an issue while doing this. for age, i have five categories. but the responses from the questionnaire do not contain the first category; that is, none of the respondents were aged 18 to 24 years. so at the end of this automatic recode, the spss is not coding for the first category. please help.

      @@ahmedayman9543 no I didn't. I simply coded the rest of the age groups from 1 to 4 in Excel for analytical purposes.
