By any chance is there a feature to Auto-update formatting between workbooks, such as conditional formatting? We have work books to track certain tickets and each member has their own workbook. I'm trying to make is so if I make a formatting rule or add content to list items (used for pick-lists) I only want to update the master file, and those updates populate the other workbooks. Is this possible yet in MS Excel?

However, if you reference a table from the original file, it only works when the file is opened. If the original file is closed, you get #ref error. Maybe there could be a way to fix this but I regularly work linking many files and this happens.
Hi there ! Nice way to do it, but (sorry^^) dont learn to people to create link between 2excel sheets. Why? because when you move one file, or rename, it creates #errors or #na or whatever. So people will have one day an error and they would never now how to fix it (A lot of people in my enterprise call me for this sort of issue, because they created 15 links to other excel sheets..... arf ;) ). Have a data sheet is better or at least the last way or a vba code to import data but more complicated. But in the same file, the way to have only a column on a table is a nice thing. Thanks

Break the links, from the "Data" tab you should be able to see the "Edit Links" option, click on that and then on "Break Link"

must all the linked files be in the same folder? and if i need to move the folder to another location (e.g. D:\ to E:\), will it still work?
With the formulas it should be fine. With power query you would need to change the path in the source step.

If the file name changed or folder changed, some data may disappeared, that might be the risk for linking data.
