    As a Slovenian - Roglic is a super nice guy, incredibly lovable and might actually have more fans in Slovenia because of his personality and the constant injuries. But there’s no way in hell Pogacar is giving the road race away to anyone. He openly said at the beginning of the season that one of his main goals this year is the rainbow jersey. And he appears to have legs at least as good as they were in the Tour. And it’s funny, even in Slovenia no one has the slightest idea what the relationship between Roglic and Pogacar actually is. Honestly, if Pog doesn’t win it might actually be the biggest upset of the season. Awesome video as always Chris! ❤🦋

    Chris, thank you for your work. I haven't missed any of your videos.
    Regarding the drama you mentioned within the Slovenian team, I believe it's being blown out of proportion. From what I understand, Roglič has agreed to support Pogačar - unofficially, of course. He'll act as a backup in case something happens to Pogačar early in the race, But later, he will work for Pogacar.
    I think Roglič knows that Pogačar is better prepared for the World Championships. Pogačar has been focusing on this event for the last two months, while Roglič was busy racing in Spain. This situation also reminds me of why Roglič didn’t work for Kuss last year - because Roglič had been training specifically for the Vuelta, but was then restricted from racing for the win.
    If you’ve trained hard for a particular race and been promised leadership, you should at least have a fair shot at competing for victory. Last year, Jumbo-Visma should have let Roglič, Vingegaard, and Kuss race each other. The team still would have secured the top three spots, but in a different order. Kuss likely wouldn't have won in that scenario.

    It'd make sense for PR & TP to make an agreement: TP supports PR this year, and PR supports TP next year. And the Slovenian team comes out on top both years.

      Couple that with the hot weather and Pog is not the favorite at all.
      Pog has to win THIS YEAR.
      Also, his chance of winning the Triple Crown is NOW, next year he will probably do the Vuelta. Forget about letting Roglic win, Pog will come to the Worlds all guns blazing and will be giving no gifts.

      Last year's Vuelta leadership was promised to Primož at the start of the year, and then Jonas decided he'll mess up the team chemistry by joining in late. Jonas had already won the Tour, so leaving the Vuelta leadership to Primož would be a sensible thing, like Pogi left this year's Vuelta to Almeida, in order to keep teammates happy. Instead of keeping everyone happy, the team bosses slighted Primož, who was preparing for that race the whole summer.
      He even said that he made the decision to leave Visma before the Vuelta - meaning, he sensed that he was being disrespected by the team bosses, who broke their promise. Why would he help anyone in that situation? Even then, he obeyed team orders and didn't follow Jonas when he went on his 2 escapades (win for his daughter and van Hooydonck), while Jonas followed Primož on his only attempt for the stage win (stage 17). Primož can be a great lieutenant, you just have to communicate that assignment with him beforehand and not promise him one role and change your mind at the last second.

On the other hand, Tadej might say "ur an ass", I'm waiting for other guys and then both of them might loose it. My bet is most teams will mark pogi but less so primoz, leaving him with a chance at (unlikely, but possible) breakaway. That’s why he’s racing this year, cuz he knows that having pogi on your team actually helps you. Team
    Will drive hard, for both, pogi will
    Be closely marked, primoz rides wheel, and then sensing his chance, he takes it with realistically his best chance at winning. Cuz let’s be honest, Roglic isn’t in the same league as the top 3

  • @xander0901
    @xander0901 18 часов назад

    Here’s my thinking.
    Tadej has always been a consummate professional and is driven by pure passion for the bike. Even when he blew up on those few Tour de France stages and got his legs ripped off him, I’ve never seen display animosity or distaste towards other riders.
    Primoz is definitely not as chatty as Tadej, but I have to say he is generally cordial with all riders in the peloton. Even when he was attacking Sepp Kuss as his teammate, I would attribute that to professional frustration after having being left off the Tour de France roster. He did not celebrate those wins as you would expect, so I like to believe there was a sense of guilt after putting his close teammate under the knife.
    When it comes to the two being teammates, I expect them to remain cordial with each other unless something extreme happens between the two of them, like one’s aggressive riding causing the other to crash. These two like to race hard, so I think anything short of a knucklehead decision that directly compromises the other rider would be interpreted as hard racing.

    • @ChrisHornerCycling
      @ChrisHornerCycling  18 часов назад

      I agree. All that could happen. And also agree that last years Vuelta may have had some conversation from within Jumbo that could explain why Roglic raced like he did. 🤔🦋👊
