@@HarryJamesPotter7that is not jealousy. Jealousy is the fear of losing something or someone that's yours to someone else. Princess Anne was just 21 and grieving the death of her father. When you lose a parent is one of the times in life when you need and seek the emotional support of your siblings the most. They were a very close knit family. King George, the father used to refer to his family as "us four". So naturally when Queen Elizabeth Ascended the throne she felt like losing her sister. Because she was. Because as a Monarch, duty and country comes first. Soon after her crowning, Queen Elizabeth had to leave her children who were 4 and 2 at the time to perform her duties overseas for 6 months. Gone are the days when you could casually visit your sister whenever you feel like seeing her. The Queen works on a busy schedule so you must make a prior appointment. Everything changed for Princess Margaret and the then Princess Elizabeth when their Father King George died and they were both very young when it happened.

When David abdicated “for the woman he loved”, Margaret and Elizabeth’s lives changed completely. Neither was prepared, but Elizabeth had the mental and physical constitution to deal with it. Margaret did not. As head of the Church of England, Elizabeth was the one to tell Margaret she couldn’t marry the man she loved because he was divorced. She was 25 at the time and this seemed to start her on a life that was forever marred by unhappiness.

Those dresses that the lady in waiting where are extraordinary. They are so beautiful. It makes me want to go do research on what a lady in waiting actually does for the queen after the coronation. Like what role they play in her life.

Not sure but I think a Lady in waiting is like a best friend and maid servant / companion for life .. Just a guess. But I do know a Lady in waiting is not a maid of honor.

@AprilW-ls6bd so do they serve the queen for the rest of her life? Or are they just basically her best friends that stood with her during her coronation? I know back in like medieval times they used to get the queen up get her dress help her bathe. helper take care of the children, etcetera etcetera basically anything she needs in her daily life. Thank you for answering by the way. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

But did she live with Elizabeth beforehand? Elizabeth was married with two children. She also lived some years on Malta.
Maybe Margret meant that she had to live with her mother alone, because her father just died.

Not related to the main premise of the video but it looks like Princess Margaret is wearing one of Queen Victoria’s diamond necklaces. It’s one of my favorites and it’s so spectacular. What an incredible honor to have access to see and wear these historical jewel. I can’t imagine just seeing all the beautiful pieces at the Crown Jewels

Princess Margaret got a lot of unfair bad press because she lived life with her boots on. In truth she was a lovely woman who had tremendous genuine love for her family. The abrupt intrusions into her life did take her father from her and yank her sister into another world. She was left to console her widowed mother. God bless her sweet soul 💞

I so sympathize and can completely understand with the very restrained and controlled life that the royals were imprisoned by; there was not a lot of room for freedom and tolerance for expressing one's true feelings and emotions. Princess Margaret, QUEEN Diana, and Prince Harry are and will always be my favorites!❤😪

Makes sense. She’s mourning the death of her father and she’s losing her best friend and big sis, in a way, as Elizabeth became the Queen. This is obvious when QE2 refused to allow Margaret to marry the man she loved. QE2 had to take on a new role and responsibility. I’m sure Margaret’s sister, Lilibet, would have loved to give Margaret her blessing to marry Peter Townsend, but QE2 could not allow it.
