I fasted for 3 days, just water, and I was pain free until my next fast-break meal. That’s how I discovered food greatly contributed to my fibromyalgia pain. Sugar is the worst for me.
Caffeine and artificial sweeteners are bad for fibro too. Contributes to nerve pain. Sugar is bad for me as well. I get a pain increase in less than 10 mins sometimes.
I have numerous autoimmune issues (Lupus, RA, Fibromyalgia, etc) and this lady is absolutely correct about how a good diet can improve your pain level. I stay away from dairy, sugar, carbs, and processed foods as much as possible. Her advice to make these changes slowly is excellent! I will add, however, that exercise is extremely important. I find water aerobics to be highly effective because it is a great movement activity but the water helps support my joints. Walking for 20-30 minutes a day is also helpful. You have to move it, move it, move it! I’ve dealt with this for 19 years now. I tried the doctor/pharmaceutical route with terrible results. I did that for 16 years. The last three years have been amazing. Most days I have no pain/minor pain. If I eat too many carbs or decide to have dessert or something sweet, I can absolutely feel it in my fingers and all my joints within minutes! It always amazes me at how my nutrition impacts my quality of life!
Its insulin levels and glucose in the blood levels causing the problem MAINLY. (not processed/organic etc). The most hypoallergenic food possible is ruminant meat - beef, lamb and more. Eat ruminant meat ONLY and it gets rid of RA, psoriasis, Multiple Sclerosis, lupus and more. But you need to eat a lot of fat (homemade ghee or beef fat) to make up the calories - too much protein is hard for the body to handle.
@@user_375a82 Heart attacks won't happen overnight from scratch (if at all - took me 50 years of unhealthy food) but I would check my cholesterol and inflammation numbers regularly if I ever dared to go on a high-fat diet again (which I don't). Best of luck!

I went on the Keto diet to support my husband who was on it. I did not think much of it. The two key ingredients removed from the diet are grains and refined sugar. (Potatos are also excluded too). In the 10 months I have been on this diet, I lost 25 lbs. That is great but that is not what blew my mind. My inflammation and pain went away! I asked my doctor about it and he said that grains and sugar are big time inflammatories! Your video just confirms that I am doing the right thing healthwise. Thank you!

@@Jonases_20I can tell you how I feel since cutting out sugars, simple carbs, cheap oils, shortening, processed foods and fast foods, my neuropathy went away and it was bad enough that I could not sleep well, I’ve been eating bad for a few months and I can tell you that neuropathy is on the verge of becoming a problem. I also have stage 4 fatty liver cirrhosis so I needed to lower my sugar intake as well as all the other bad foods. I use only olive oil or avocado oil and pig fat for shortening, it helps and it’s mostly the foods we eat that are causing bad health…. I have fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis , and I’ve been eating this way for 5 years. I also cut out all caffeine. The fibromyalgia pain is nearly non existent! Also, I can tell within minutes if I eat these inflammatory foods. The pain especially in my joints returns. Especially if I eat sugar, grains, and tomato’s. I follow the Paleo diet.It takes a lot of self discipline, but I always say ,”nothing tastes better than no pain feels”❤️
Stopping coffee is hard for me. The night shade vegetables turn on my arthritis, like potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, all the one i love. I do have them now and then in small amounts. A rotating diet works best for me.
A lot of arrogant comments here.. I'm a fibro sufferer and so is my father. Different things do different stuff to both of us. This is a guide line, try it out and if it doesn't work move on. Also she may be fat but as I said to a previous comment, it's hard to Consistently exercise when you're in pain all the time and doing just house chores puts you on your arse for days. She's just sharing her story and what works for her. Take it or leave it.

Coffee is inflammatory as well, pains in shoulders and back due to drinking a cup a day. French physio said that this was common with coffee drinkers so to stay away from it. It worked, pain has gone except when I sneak a cup!

I would say the other is processed/chemical laden foods. Basically avoid all inflammatory foods. So if you follow some sort of anti-inflammatory diet it can be helpful. As everyone is different, not all foods will effect everyone the same way, so some may only need to cut back on a food that another may need to eliminate completely from their diet. Trial and error. There is never a quick easy fix nor a one size fits all. You have to do the work and sort it out for yourself. Which is exactly why you are watching videos on RUclips about inflammation and fibromyalgia. I encourage anyone out there to try. I will be. ☺️
Love that the importance of nutrition is becoming such a popular topic. I suffered from a chronic illness as a kid and spent a lot of time in hospitals and surgery rooms. I didn’t get better until my mom discovered Dr. Andrew Weil who worked with her to put together a Mediterranean-based eating plan for me (plus some supplements). Same concept... plenty of healthy fats, no simple carbs or sugars besides fruits and vegetables, quality meat, limited dairy, nothing processed. I follow his plan today to manage chronic hip pain, and in addition I control my food mold exposure, so I’m very careful with coffee, cheese, etc. Diet is the biggest contributed to health, and the best way to manage symptoms of chronic illness. “Let food be thy medicine.”
Thanks to God who has sent dr Eseigbe on RUclips channel who cured my osteoporosis and also cures my sisters sinus infection . You can get in touch with him on his RUclips channel link ruclips.net/channel/UCvGz1DqNpScob6MXKrACYhg. Thanks doc,
Glad this diet works for you but, just to be clear, research studies show that red meat (no matter the quality) and processed meat as well as vegetable oils high in Omega 6 cause inflammation.
Changing foods hasn’t helped me personally, but a simple stretch yoga 20 minutes3 times a week made a huge difference. That’s just my experience....but I always have had a well balanced diet... moderation.
Cutting out nightshade plants has really helped me with osteoarthritis. Potatoes, eggplants, bell peppers, tomatoes (seeds and skin) and a few more are in that family. They have a chemical that can cause inflammation. She’s also describing an anti yeast diet. Carbs, sugars, dairy, alcohol all contribute to inflammation and feed the yeast. Trial and error works but have to give it at least a couple weeks sometimes to see a change. Can be immediately as well. Good luck!!
This is helpful. I have been eating a lot of homemade bruschetta lately. It’s my go-to snack. But the next day my stomach hurts and my hands are so stiff. I wonder if the tomatoes are causing it. I will cut out the nightshade plants like you did to see.
@@Jbeanz2023 I hope it helps. I cut all of the night shades out for a week and felt a difference. As time went by it got better. It takes a while for it to get out of the body completely, but very worth it. Good luck!

I have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. I need a total knee replacement for right knee & two hip replacements. Sooo much pain. I am going to try this, I'll try anything if it helps. God bless you all.
@HartsHideaway .. Until your surgeries, try liquid turmeric. I buy mine from Costco(they often have $7 off member Specials), but I see that Walmart also sells it too. Take it with a little food; you're gonna be surprised at how well it manages pain and inflammation! I had both knees replaced within 3 months of each other, and it was the BEST thing I've ever done in life! At 320 lbs, I was terrified! I prayed for a good surgeon, & I did everything they told me to do during & after surgery, and 5 years later I'm still going strong!! It sounds like your hip problems deteriorated your knee. My personal recommendation (I'm not a doctor)Get a decent brace for the knee & maybe a cane, & have your hips done 1st. Anterior & Posterior total hip replacements(THR)are your options; talk to your dr & see which is best for you. Anterior provides less blood loss & less pain bcz they cut between the muscle plane, but posterial(cutting through muscle) provides better visibility for the dr, hence more precise placement of the implant. Regardless, when it comes to joint replacements & rehab, THR are the breeze of most joint replacement surgeries. If you get your hips done 1st, follow what the doctors tell you to do, and it's a great outcome overall. This good experience will be the precursor to you getting your knee done....knee replacement rehab can be (WILL BE) painful, but the long term outcome WILL WELL outweigh the 2 or 3 weeks of Rehab pain. "I" stopped taking my narcotic pain medicine the 3rd week in rehab. Oh, btw, during surgery on the 2nd knee replacement, they gave me a nerve block. OMGoodness did it make a BIG difference with pain levels!! Hours after surgery, I felt I could walk to the bathroom on my own! (they get you out of bed within hours of leaving recovery. It's important, & helps reduce blood clots) I almost got mad in the hospital after 2nd surgery because they did not give me this nerve block for my 1st surgery. L🤶🏽L I prayed & ask 4 guidance, & all went well. The ONLY problem that kept me from going back to work 6 weeks after the 2nd surgery was weak muscles; my knee would give out as I walked. Though I never fell, the doctor said, "Falls are to be avoided at all cost bcz they can lead back to surgery!". I just kept doing my strengthening exercises, and all was fine about 3 months after surgery. God's Speed with you! 🎄👍🏻🎈
My experience to ease the pain and I drinking ginger tea very morning and one an half tea spoon of organic turmeric and helping my pain and I never take NSAID pain killers over a year and before I took 2 a day every day and good luck with your operation your knees
I read a lot of these comments and I would like to remind everyone that she DID say “this is what works for HER”. I have osteoarthritis and some of this works for me SOMETIMES. It’s not foolproof. Anything carbonated is supposed to be a big no no but I can usually drink clear carbonated drinks but not all the time. As for the wine thing....I was in a crap ton of pain last night and before I knew it drank a full bottle of pink merlot and was in far less pain. Seems weird to me too; but then again, I rarely drink anymore so maybe that’s why it worked for me. Most important take away here is YOU DO YOU. What works for one doesn’t work for everyone. Pay attention to what your body is telling you!
When I buy wine I always buy organic wine with no preservatives in it. It's no more expensive then the other wines .I like our daily bread and can buy it at most grocery stores that sell beer and wine. It cost about $10 a bottle .I think the junk they put in to preserve it is bad. Wine as been around for thousands of years .
Thank you soooo much, I've been living with Rheumatoid arthritis for about 19 years now. Somehow I knew food plays a bigger role but I've been in denial. When I do water fast I am almost pain free or whenever I'm eating more healthier and smaller portions. Ah thanks I am inspired getting mylife in order again
I had ra for 60 years, finally discovered it was grains such as wheat that triggers it! Now pain and medication free for 3 years. Just start with very simple diet of organic root vegetables, if better, add in another type of food, dairy, eggs, sugar, fruit, peppers and tomatoes, etc. Keep a journal and record everything, every mealtime and every morning.
“Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food.” I have experienced severe pain with short grain rice, sugar and some baked goods. I have slowly eliminated these foods which has greatly helped because pain is an excellent motivator.
This is an interesting topic. I have fibromyalgia and a long history of endocrine and autoimmune issues, resulting in chronic pain. I'm vegan now and feel my best when I stick to a varied, whole food diet. Tried initially to cut out starch, but that left me hungry and tired, so I added in starches like potatoes (not a problem for me), sweet potatoes, occasional popcorn, etc. The difference was subtle at first, til the holidays hit and I succumbed to eating refined foods like breads, crackers, and cookies. I've been advised by several doctors to drop gluten because of Hashimoto's, though I do not have Celiac Disease. It wasn't until I ate refined wheat flour products for a week after being off for months that the connection to my symptoms became clear. I do very well with whole plant foods, including rice and nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers), and as they're my favorite foods, being able to keep them in my diet makes giving up gluten/flour products tolerable.
I send this Video to everyone I know, it is probably the best information on this subject I can think of. It is such a debilitating condition. Thank you with sleep and water.
Milk, sugar and flour, tomato sauces and too much beef for me. Dhal or split peas as well. I’ve had RA for 5 years now and I’m just beginning to understand the correlation between my diet and inflammation. Lots of water and green tea really helps me to get back on track when I fall off the wagon. Less processed food and more greens is truly the key.

My mother has had fibromyalgia for as long as I can remember and I have just graduated with a degree in biological sciences and I've learned that diets are quite important for fibro and just overall and I'm glad this was covered. However 1 big problem I have with what she said is the "if you can't pronounce it, don't eat it." Thing. Obviously yes, overly processed foods are typically negative for the body, but people need to understand that a good amount of those complex names of ingredients on certain food packaging, is naturally occurring and often are good chemicals, as chemicals are not inherently bad for you. A great example I've found (and was crammed in every anatomy and nutrition textbook on the subject) is 2 Benzenedicarboxylic acid mono. Even after using that chemical in equations and in lectures very often, it still takes me 2-3 times to pronounce it right. That chemical is a very prevalent and naturally occurring chemical in bananas that have several health benefits, just like the other vitamins in bananas. I just want people to stop associating the word chemical with bad and I ESPECIALLY dislike the common phrase "If you can't pronounce it, don't eat it" Thank you for coming to my ted talk. Have a wonderful day
@Aaron Ecklund I follow the thought of “if you can’t pronounce it, don’t eat it”. I read the labels. I’m sure there are additives that are beneficial, but I’m pretty sure that our bodies could/should do without. I just don’t know which are the “bad guys” and which are the “good guys”. So in addition to the no-no list No sugar No dairy No flour I go old school & I cook from scratch. I so appreciate your input, and congratulations on your hard work in biological sciences
Interesting. Bananas are one food that triggers not so nice things for me. I believe the lady in the video is right about finding what your individual triggers are. Cutting things out first then trying them one at a time can teach each of us what is or isn't going to work. We all have wondrously different DNA, so why not consider that while certain things will hold true for all, not all things do...?
I suffered from severe arthritis to the point my joints would freeze up , mostly in the shoulders and I would need cortisone shots. I eat Keto now for many health reasons, but initially I gave up white and wheat flour and boom no more flare ups and pain gone. I still eat some of the foods she listed and have no problems. So everyone’s body is different, but for me the flour was the culprit. Reduce foods that cause the inflammation . It’s a journey to see what your triggers are, but so, so worth it.

Not “always.” If it works for you, great. For some, nuts and seeds have the same lectins that can cause inflammation. The big revelation for me was cutting out grains: bread is everywhere, flour is everywhere in restaurant and processed food products. When I cut it out, I wanted a replacement, but, eventually, I didn’t need one. I’m fine without it. The only issue is parties and events and I have found socially sensitive ways to pass on things that mess me up. Life is better.

But, I have always been a big fan of your site, and this video popped up, a game changer for me. Thank you very much doctors and this wonderful lady .
Yes I agree 👍 So happy for you! I was diagnosed with RA back in 2015 I felt like it was the end of the world for me. I became very depressed... I am pain free today thanks to the amazing doctors & this video... God bless you & the wonderful doctors.
she says at the start it worked for her, its her story and shes not an expert. Can all the keyboard warriors in the comments stop shouting out their opinion as fact please? She went to the trouble to speak on the video and disclaimered everything but the kitchen sink. If you still feel offended, thats your problem in an age of sensitive mostly non qualified commenters. She tells you where to start which is the most important part as far as I'm concerned. Most of the information is based from advice she got from other people and information already on the internet. The purpose of this video seems to be to save you some time and has some valuable information even if you dont suffer from any of the conditions mentioned.
My mom has RA and I decided I didn't want to get it so have been on an anti-inflammatory diet myself. My mother won't give up any of these foods and suffers daily. Just can't get her to understand eating differently in her old age WILL help!
Mary R what specifically are hard core inflamers for you? Can you eat fruit ? Dairy is bad for me. But to be honest I’m starting to think everything inflames me. It all starts in your brain. Trauma
I had my DNA done. Found I am a slow carb metabolizer, gluten intolerant lactose intolerant and legume sensitive. I was doing keto and carnivore for the past four years. What the DNA did was to stop me from guessing and made a precise diet for me. I feel great at 72.
As we age our bodies react differently to food. Don't follow another person's dietary restrictions, just reduce what foods are your own bloating or pain triggers. Be aware of what troubled (or what helped) your parents, if possible... Because our family often predicts things like lactose intolerance or Irritable bowel syndrome. Those are inflammatory in nature & can progress to systemic rheumatoid arthritis. God bless.
Love this video! I have been avoiding many of these inflammatory foods as much as I can for the past 5 years and it does make a huge difference. When I tell people this many times they look at me like I’m crazy! Going to share this video!! Thank You for all you share 👍🏼

Am surprised she didn’t talk about Cinnamon andvtumeric. These have been life saving for inflammation and lowering blood sugar and blood pressure levels. Green tea too. I never use anything added to my tea. Just eat clean. Chewing parsley too is a natural diuretic.
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING. Based on my own experience. I have reduced my inflammatory pain with diet. And all this lady said was exactly correct. At least for me...that was it. Thank you for all your great job! I am late 2 years in this video...but it is okay...better late than never for saying a good thing right?
A couple of years ago I cut way back on wheat and my migraines stopped and I was able to stop taking anti-depressants/anxiety meds. I can tell when I eat too much wheat I can feel the anxiety creep back. It's amazing how our body reacts to foods when we actually pay attention.
Your anxiety might be a reaction to soy. Wheat in general makes me feel ill, but it's when it also contains soy (soy lecithin or hydrolyzed soy protein) that my mood tanks.
It's funny that she was talking about substituting the milk in her coffee, I find coffee itself to be one of the biggest triggers of inflammation in my RA. I avoid anything potent like coffee, black pepper, chili pepper, paprika, dark chocolate etc. With regard to potatoes, I find that peeling them makes them tolerable, so roast & mashed = good, Jacket = bad
I gave up meat for months and my arthritis pain was reduced down to a 1 out of a scale of 1 to 10. So now eat meat maybe once a month. I almost completely stopped eating proceeds food such as sugar, white flour, pasta etc. This has helped me I hope it helps you.
Then remove all night shades. And go all green and cruciferous. Replace potatoes starches for cauliflower, radishes and turnips chayote rutabaga jicama.
A few years ago I went on the South beach diet. Following the diet for the first two weeks, I lost 8 lbs and had No pain. I normally have quite a bit of pain I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. Totally eliminating sugar is a must
Inflammation was my #1 factor, I hit it head on with everything, and now I am living proof that your diet/nutrition plays a major part in dealing with inflammation. I never liked to eat much of anything in the nightshade family (especially tomatoes), and I switched most of my homogenized/pasteurized cow milk with almond milk. Occasionally would eat potatoes but that was rare. I did make my own personal blend of essential oils and some other oils that I put in capsules for consumption. I did notice that my tastebuds changed; processed pasta and other products started to taste slimy or even a weird texture.
That's great dear. Are tomatoes really that much dangerous? Am gradually including and excluding certain foods in and certain others out ,to stay painfree.
Thank you for all your wonderful videos. Just a tip from a fibromyalgia person, if you eat pasta add lots of veggies. I put in more veggies than pasta. I am normal weight, no sugar, almost no processed foods. It helps, but still working on trying to exercise. Your videos show some nice easy safe exercises thank you for that. Everyone is different. But I do not eat meat, cheese, dairy, or sugar, maybe one egg a month. I am having less symptoms and Better but still not the person I was prior to spinal injury and subsequent fibromyalgia. Thank you for encouraging so many people. Blessings.
Not an expert? Well, this is what is needed - true stories with real results. Thanks. Tomatoes are my no. 1 enemy for PsA and wheat for my psoriasis. My food list is pretty extensive but the results are worth it!
hi! may i know how are u now? i have PsA symptoms and suffering from arthritis lot. i was able to control my psoriasis but not arthritis. it’s been 3 months since the symptoms appeared and i’m bedridden now
@@Jonases_20 For me, a very strict elimination diet helped a lot when I was at my worst. Not bed ridden but was at a point where I couldn't turn a door handle with one hand, pick up my newborn, walk down stairs. Any time I stopped moving my joints would seize up on me and be the most painful. I dropped dairy, gluten, sugar, alcohol, citrus, nightshades, caffeine, legumes. I am now doing carnivore and actually find it easier (unless I get off course and have to "re-train" myself). On limited diet I settle at around 75% with some spots , on carnivore (strictly) I am at around 95% and not a spot on me.
Excellent video. I was nearly crippled by RA but I decided that I was not going to take the all terrible drugs my Dr's wanted me to take because I researched them before taking. Instead I got books about RA from amazon. I did the elimination diet and now I can walk and eat and sew and do yoga. I have some permanent damage to my joints but I am so glad I stayed away from drugs. This lady is right. Thank You Bob and Brad for letting her share her experience.
Completely avoid milk and milk products. Watch your digestive system carefully after having each food. If anything causes acid reflux, remove it from diet. If you can sun bath, take 15-20 minutes of it every morning or evening. Check for the grains which may upset your tummy.Finish dinner before sunset...you will see grt changes.
Pls tell us what foods you’ve eliminated & what foods you eat consistently & if there are any other things you do that have helped alot. TY & happy for you!
@@bluemoon472 Same for me (though I didn't find out till I was 65). With me it is wheat/grains/cereals. I cut this out (which is very difficult!) and I no longer need any medication and have no joint pain. If you have an auto-immune disease and you have good and bad days, then you are probably ingesting something that stimulates your immune system. This will most likely be a protein and probably it exists in a specific food group. It could be dairy, grain, legumes, yeast or fermented products, eggs or something else. Start on a diet (take no medication during test weeks!) of just a few simple organic vegetables (I used root vegetables and made tray bakes and soups for a week) - result: no RA. Then I slowly added in other food groups and drinks each week, e.g. dairy, legumes, rice, eggs, etc. - all OK - finally wheat (bread/pizza/cake/flour in sauces, etc.) - RA flared up like mad! Keep a detailed journal (you MUST do this), record medication, any tummy discomfort and every meal/drink and your health following morning/day. Good luck!
I also SO appreciate bob’s transparency with his diagnosis. Your struggles are similar to post stroke which millions have been struggling through. Thank You!!!

Yes, unfortunately in this country food has too many toxic additives and fat is replaced with sugar to make food tastier. Fresh produce is often full of pesticides and other bad stuff. Americans are obese more than other people of the world because they eat more processed food and spend less time preparing their own healthy meals. It is almost impossible to find fruity yogurt that is not labeled no-fat or low-fat. Even sour cream comes in low-fat.How on earth can cream be non-fat? Our food industry needs more quality control.
@@sempersodalis6093 yes, and generally the stuff that has had the 'fat removed' has gone through a process or has other additives that make it even less healthy . The fat is not a problem - my pain doctor said - go ahead had eggs and bacon (might have been joking about the bacon - due to the nitrates - not good for Fibromyalgia) it's the poisons like soya lethicin that are really really bad - and stuffed in everything. I was born allergic to fruit - so i live on vegetables - i'm fortunate that it works for me
@@sempersodalis6093 aside from sugar added, it is low quality oils used sometimes inappropriately as well as things like sawdust added.🤢 I love a pop tart myself however seeing how much of the EASY foods use non nutrient dense ingredients it is also easy to see why kids are as overweight as they are at under 10 years old as well as kids being less physically active and more screen dependent and depressed in general. Organic isnt always better, it does not ALWAYS means it hasnt been adulterated by chemicals (ones you might not want to ingest regularly). Washing fruits veggies (even with plain water is a good thing to do). I'm sorry I dont have a resource right off hand about organics. Food dogma isnt a great thing. Keep track of foods that trigger pain and inflammation and brain fog and reduce them and see how you feel. 🤷♀️ Also if you have implants of any kind with silicone those also seem to increase inflammatory response when coupled with auto immune food related inflammation.
@@optimismrules2512 see Tangerine Travels on you tube! Her breast implants and the foods in America were making her ill. She moved to Mexico and had her implants removed. I had so much pain in my arms and hands, I couldn't even take clothes out of my dryer. I ran out of coconut milk and was out for a week, I noticed my pain was going away. I ate a lot of coconut products and now I don't eat any because like she said " I could feel the pain coming on in 15 minutes. Peanuts and pistachios make me hurt also. There is a book called Eat 4 your blood type and another book called Blood type food, beverage and supplements by Dr. Peter J. D' Adamo. Thank you for your videos, they've been very helpful. With regard to plant oils, it's got to be cold-pressed unheated plant oils, otherwise it's pro-inflammatory rather than anti-inflammatory. Nuts have to be eaten raw. Commercial (roasted) nut butters, roasted nuts, fried foods or any plant oils that have been exposed to heat become rancid very quickly and can cause a Vitamin E deficiency, which damages the nuclei of body cells and make them produce more uric acid which can result in gout. Then you have to replenish the Vitamin E and be patient until enough body cells have been replaced for the levels of uric acid to normalize. Most commercial dairy products have been pasteurized which is also problematic (though in most cases necessary due to the danger of diseases such as Brucellosis). You do get some raw cheeses however. Sweet potatoes are good for all blood types except Type A (Secretor sub-type -- Type Non-Secretor can eat sweet potatoes without any trouble, but most Type As have Secretor sub-type). However sweet potatoes limit the absorption of iodine (it's goitrogenic), so one has to make sure to consume (additional) foods containing iodine separately from a meal that includes sweet potatoes. According to naturopath Peter d'Adamo, author of books such as Eat Right 4 Your Type and Live Right 4 Your Type people who have certain blood types such as O and A should avoid potatoes since (amongst other things) it could cause arthritis. I'm Type O myself and I found that though potatoes didn't give me any trouble when I was younger, it gave me insulin problems and arthritic inflammation in my forties. Gluten is pro-inflammatory for Type Os. I've heard that intermittent fasting is actually better for general health than eating many small meals or snacks.
Will be praying for you Bob. Bob & Brad your video have been a blessing to help my Mom after a stroke cause by a fall an hemorrhaging to the brain. I know that you both have helped so many people. Will be praying for you and everyone struggling from ataxia and any other diseases to be healed. 🙏
I have lupus,RA,fibromyalgia I have gone on a keto diet for hat helped but what really helped more was the carnivore diet or go back and forth between with how you feel. I am like this sweet lady I can feel my body flare up more when I eat bad. So listen to your body besides sugar is such a terrible damaging drug! It is like glass going through your arteries. In fact I do eat cheddar cheese, the hard cheeses mozzarella, I do heavy cream. I just limit them, I think it depends on the individual it helped me to weed all food out and add some in little by little.
Try moringa superfood! It helps. I use Pura vida capsules 4 to 6 capsules per day in addition to the diet changes etc. Losing weight also helps because the extra fat causes more inflammation in the body.
As a teacher, I had to teach that food pyramid. I knew if people ate as much as that pyramid said to eat, they would be obese. 6 servings of grains is a LOT. I decided to teach kids to eat "the rainbow". They had contests to see how many foods of different colors they could eat each day. Much healthier.
@@barbaramazzocca4605 Well, if ppl actually knew what a serving size was, it might not be bad advice. For me, total calories taken in per day seem to matter more than whether they come from. Carbs from grain or protein from veg sources are the same for me. I do avoid meat, dairy, and fats of all types, including coconut. This is for ethical reasons and low fat keeps me in a calorie deficit. I only felt relief when my weight dropped, avoiding certain foods never helped.
I have incredibly bad bones and with broken bones that have healed, has left me on a mission to find foods that help with pain. I can tell you that potatoes and vegetables do not hurt my body. I'm not advocating for you to eat them but I have arthritis all over my body. I don't have RA. I do have osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. When I eat sugar or meat, then, it's 2 weeks of pain and it's almost right away with the pain. I did acupuncture and it helped to some degree. I eat a plant based diet and it's helped me incredibly well.
Wines are hard because they are full of sulfites. I don't drink much, but I found out I had allergies to sulfites and would have reactions every time I had wine. Come to find out I was allergic to the preservatives in the wines.
Such a nice patient willing to share her experience and knowledge. I love that she’s making suggestions to address that a change in diet, what ever that means for you, should be considered. I have a rare form of diabetes, so I’d like to share just one thing that I’ve learned. Maple syrup, honey, agave, raw sugar, molasses etc, are all still sugar, with high glycemic values. So that means the body still processes them all the same. Of course I’m not taking away the benefits of say honey and it’s attributes. Stevia is my personal recommendation as a natural, safe sugar alternative. It does not taste exactly like sugar, but once I accepted THAT fact, I quickly learned to enjoy it. Hope this is beneficial to someone out here! Again, I am impressed that miss Jody was willing to come make a video for “The most popular PT’s on the internet!” That took a lot of courage! Way to go 💜
@Vakerie F thank you for bringing up Stevia. We use it so much now. Different levels of concentration in the drop bottles. Be sure to read labels so they don’t sell you a watered down version!
Very interesting. I'm glad this is working for her but it sure doesn't work for me. For all of you watching this and reading this, you may want to try different things and see what works best for you. When I gave up meat, dairy, including cheese, and processed foods and went plant based including all of the white potatoes and potatoes of all sorts, rice all colors, pasta if I want it, and fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, seeds, almond milk, and it has been Heaven sent. I've lost weight without trying, and my pain levels have dropped significantly. Starch based foods are filling and are natural complex carbohydrates, andI don't miss the bad foods at all any longer. What she's eating isn't the best diet by far but it's working for her. Check out Drs. McDougall, Esselstyn, MacGregor, and more for their wisdom on healing with foods.
I am 70 years old and have no arthritis. My sister is 69 years old and has RA. I attribute my good health to life changes I made 33 years ago. I became vegetarian. No meat and dairy products. No sugar, no tea, no coffee and avoided processed foods. Cheese is a food I avoided like the plague. I used alternatives like soya milk , cereals, fruits and vegetables. I used olive oil for cooking and for my salads. I drink a glass of water first thing in the morning with lemon juice. No alcohol, no smoking and no pharmaceutical drugs. I walk a lot. I cut down my meals to two meals a day. I also drink raw carrots and green juices three or more times a week. Two texts in the bible have also helped me: "A merry heart is like a good medicine but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Provetbs 17:22 Remember arthritis is a disease of the bones. "If you worship the Lord, your food and water will be blessed and I will remove sickness from the midst of thee and there shall no miscarriage nor barrenness and I will give thee a full life span." Exodus 23:25 niv Also go back to the diet given to man in Genesis chapter 2. Fruits, nuts, grains and vegetables.
I have neither of these conditions, but I am prone to high blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol. When I am eating the diet she describes here I lose weight, have more energy, and lose many of the cravings that plague me when I am eating a diet with bad fats, added sugars and excessive salt. And when I have included exercise the improvements are even more pronounced!
This is a better way imo then changing everything to keto or another diet at once. If you change everything then you won't know what actually caused the problem to begin with and you could be unnecessary restricting yourself. Although elimination diet doesn't per se give the answer and a completely different diet could be the answer then.
As a natural bodybuilder, I have done elimination diets and have noticed certain foods cause me inflammation. Signs of inflammation include: water retention, weight gain (from water), acne, and constipation. I have varicose veins that act like a barometer whenever I eat something my body doesn’t like. They get painful, buldgy, and itchy. I also take weight every day and if I eat something my body hates I will see a 1-5 lb increase in weight overnight, and I will see my definition lines be blurred (water). I will also get pimples the next day. Foods that I have noticed give me inflammation vary. For instance, broccoli and cabbage are HUGE no-no’s. Oatmeal is out for me (even natural, steel cut). Peanut butter. Even some fruits cause me to retain water. Regular and sweet potatoes both cause me to retain water as well. Basmati rice is my go-to carb. Believe it or not, dairy gives me zero issues. I don’t get signs of inflammation if I eat cheese, eat ice cream or drink a glass of milk. It is a point that must be made for anyone choosing to see what foods cause inflammation is that what causes inflammation and gas in one person may not do the same in another. She might have issues with rice but that doesn’t mean you will. The point is to experiment and figure out what your unique genetic makeup dictates the best and worst foods for you are.
I have RA and years ago I eliminated the nightshade vegs, white potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and some others. I use Turmeric and black pepper for my pain. I take no meds. All of this has made a huge difference in the way I feel. I am 77.
Going nonGMO has helped my joints sooooooo much. Honey and maple syrup are sugar. Same molecule as white sugar. Spacing out meals makes insulin high all the time. It’s better to have fewer meals so insulin is low most of your day. Every time you eat insulin goes up for an hour or more. Eating 5 times a day means insulin will be high most of the day. Not good.
Thank you for this video! I've felt with fibro for years, disc disease and am having more arthritis symptoms. I've always considered becoming lactose intolerant a blessing in disguise. I really am motivated to eat what makes me feel good!
I cut back on the bread and pasta after watching this and for the first time the cold season is not killing my ankles. Thank you, Bob and Brad the two most famous physical therapists on the internet!!
I have the same reaction to those foods. Potatoes, peppers, dried beans, grains, simple carbs, milk/yogurt and omega 6 fats are the worst. But I can tolerate hard cheese and heavy whipping cream. I am also watching oxalates and histamines so I avoid spinach, avocado, wine and beer.
Yes I eat very little, white flour, white sugar , and dairy . If I have a flair up, I elliminate for a few weeks. Just add vegetables as much as you can and fish.

I fasted for 3 days, just water, and I was pain free until my next fast-break meal. That’s how I discovered food greatly contributed to my fibromyalgia pain. Sugar is the worst for me.
Try one meal a day or decreasing your eating 'window' to as short as you can (eight hours or less)

Caffeine and artificial sweeteners are bad for fibro too. Contributes to nerve pain. Sugar is bad for me as well. I get a pain increase in less than 10 mins sometimes.

Sugar is bad for your joints, your brain, and your gut, it should be illegal

Good luck!
@@Jbeanz2023 Also, wheat can be a trigger. There are some decent gluten free breads these days. Try that too. Cheers
@@Jbeanz2023 I'm super sensitive to chemicals and plastics, some worse than others. Non-organically grown potatoes, wheat, grains, seeds, produce--omg--Apples give me hot feet, hot flushes and fly right through me--then I feel goofy for days. Foods, snacks containing or fried in gmo oils or even just walking near to poisoned areas or parks, my feet start to burn, heat rises up my spine & back and crawl up my scalp-very unsettling with digestive problems, joint pain & stiffness..NO GOOD. Avoiding pesticides, poisons & eating organic has been the best thing I've done for my recovery. I continue noting & cutting out more & more offenders as they're revealed. Good luck to you!
Fabulous work Bob and Brad. You will not imagine the good you are bringing to the lives of so many with your generosity of service and time. Thanks to the lady on this show too. God Bless your good work.

I have torn meniscus and tried CBD Oil from AON and was pleasantly surprised. The pain went away. I t is amazing.
I prayed & ask 4 guidance, & all went well.

Thank you for this - for veering off your normal path of subject matter - SO MANY are affected by autoimmune diseases
Just wow, the amount of hard work this man is putting in is unbelievable

Summer Butterfly, I'm with you all the way. Any update on your knee and treating it naturally?
Hi any update?
So in addition to the no-no list
No sugar
No dairy
No flour
I go old school & I cook from scratch.
I so appreciate your input, and congratulations on your hard work in biological sciences
Good advice .
Love this. Always replace what you take out. I've a nut allergy so I got used to eating sunflower seeds as a snack and they taste like nuts too. 👍🏽

God bless.

How were you able to go off those meds. ? They are equally very difficult, looking for tips thx. Hope this finds you doing better all the time 🙏✨
It's funny that she was talking about substituting the milk in her coffee, I find coffee itself to be one of the biggest triggers of inflammation in my RA. Do you eat fruits for sugar replacement?.

Yes, unfortunately in this country food has too many toxic additives and fat is replaced with sugar to make food tastier. Fresh produce is often full of pesticides and other bad stuff. Americans are obese more than other people of the world because they eat more processed food and spend less time preparing their own healthy meals.
She has healed through implant removal and with eating Mexican market foods (organic plants/fruits/vegetables that are so abundantly available and inexpensive) and she will not move back to America where she was sick all the time from the food chemicals and pesticides placed in our foods.
Peter J. D' Adamo. For each blood type he categorizes what foods are healing, neutral and poison for blood types. I swear by it. In general sugar and high carbs are not good for anyone. I'm glad you had her on, it will be a eye opener for many! Good job!!!
She shouldn't need to apologize for not being an "expert" in anything. She's getting after her ailments where the commonly used expert protocols are failing.
Forget everything you’ve been told fibromyalgia is curable, the key point is knowing the right person to handle it, i was diagnosed about 6 years ago with fibromyalgia, but now it’s no more, Due to a healthy routine exercise and herbal therapy from a great healer in the person of Dr. Araba, who is an expert in such areas. His Instagram handle is @ifawomire_araba
I was recently diagnosed with RA but I've been a severe migraine sufferer for many years taking Relpax regularly. A few months ago, I came off of cheese and I've not had a migraine until two weeks ago I had a cheese sandwich. Just imagine one little item made such a difference! I can only imagine how much a difference this dietary change has made on Jody.
think i might have RA, my doctor and i waiting on some more tests decide what scans i need but basically all my bones and joints hurt moving ad lots hurt to touch
This isn't just if you HAVE arthritis, it's if you don't want to GET arthritis or any other auto immune or metabolic disease.
Eventually you will get arthritis especially if you do athletic sports
Excellent presentation, your guest was great! Thank you for sharing this.
I’ve been in so much pain the last six months. I’ll try anything... so I’ll call today, Day 1.
Stop gluten dairy sugar
I have RA Staying hydrated lots of water makes a huge difference. Along with what foods trigger your pain.

I put Moringa powder in a smoothie with monk fruit to sweeten.
They've been killing us this whole time with our food teaching us in school the food pyramid
ruclips.net/video/RR4AtDF8bg0/видео.html
The school food pyramid showed me fruits and vegetables are main foods smaller amounts of bread, meat and starches.
@@bellie8009
Yes they finally inverted it!

I agree :) I believe most good wine outlets and wine experts can direct you toward affordable alternatives:)
This video is worth saving! Thank you.
Very useful for me - recently diagnosed with RA. Thank you. 🇬🇧
Two texts in the bible have also helped me:
"A merry heart is like a good medicine but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Provetbs 17:22
Remember arthritis is a disease of the bones.
"If you worship the Lord, your food and water will be blessed and I will remove sickness from the midst of thee and there shall no miscarriage nor barrenness and I will give thee a full life span." Exodus 23:25 niv
Also go back to the diet given to man in Genesis chapter 2.
I was told to go on an Elimination Diet for 21 days and then add 1 thing back to see what foods are causing my Fibrod flare ups.
I did that. On my way to losing 20 + lbs. Too much extra me was a bad thing.
This is a better way imo then changing everything to keto or another diet at once.
If you change everything then you won't know what actually caused the problem to begin with and you could be unnecessary restricting yourself.
Although elimination diet doesn't per se give the answer and a completely different diet could be the answer then.
Did it work?
This sounds like a great idea! I'll definitely be trying this.
Just cutting out alcohol ( I was a llight drinker) helped a lot!
U r so right, i eat bad stuff and i can hardly get out of a chair im only 55 and not overweight very stiff sometimes
Me too.. I soo agree with you !
Very helpful video! Thanks Bob and Brad.
What do you eat? Please answer. Sincere question 🤔
Yes I eat very little, white flour, white sugar , and dairy . If I have a flair up, I elliminate for a few weeks. Just add vegetables as much as you can and fish.
Just heard about morninga leaf, If it’s not( green )powder send it back. Look at the Big family.
Bringing our body back to a better pH is great
I'm going to have to give up everything I currently eat!!! Thank You Very Much! 🤗
Me to. One step at a time. Sugar is the most important. MONK FRUIT!!! It is better than sugar.
