- In this weeks video I’ll be doing some deep cleaning in the guest bathroom and cleaning things I haven’t cleaned in forever! Removing the toliet seat, removing the sink stopper to clesn the drain (which is a pain!) and cleaning my faux flowers and plant.
Getting the house ready to host for Easter
And we had a nice weather day so I started some outdoor cleanup to prep my yard for the coming spring season and all the flowers I want to plant 🌸

Jodi, if the growing bird seed is bothering you, just try buying "Non-Germinating" bird seed. I use it and really helps thin down the unwanted surprise growth around my feeders.

We use wet cardboard under our garden beds; it allows the roots to grow down into the soil below, but doesn't allow weeds to grow up through it. 🌱

The bathroom looks great and the sink wasn’t that bad at all. You are so organised to be starting this early getting the place ready for Easter. I use Dove soap also. Use Soft Soap clear liquid for see thru dispensers. Happy Easter 🐰!

Sow your zinnias now in a large pot inside (it can sit in your nice bay window!) and then you can have plants to plant when your last frost time has passed. Most advice is to thin and put in individual pots once the seedlings are up, but this is less work lol 😊 You’ll still get plenty of plants to plant (also can thin them out in the big pot too.
BTW- you were identifying your plants outside correctly by their leaves.😊 Also pro-gardening tip: Plant in groupings for a better more pleasing show.
Another suggestion: dig your “ditch” lilies up and plant them in a grouping in a sunny place on side of your house-free plants! (unless you just hate them lol). Love watching-I never miss a video!

I think you have to cold stratify the zinnias. There are also special bird seed for you to get so it doesn’t sprout. I forget what it is cold. You can try a hula hoe for the weeds. That is what I use!

We’re getting a new floor in our living room in a couple weeks, decided at the last minute (today) that we should paint the living room, foyer, and dining area before the floor gets installed. Nothing like last minute panic for motivation. We will also be gone for five days before the installers come so no time to take it nice and slow like we usually do 😅. Love your videos ❤

Zennias are one of the easiest to direct sow! I just throw them on the soil, mix it around a bit and then water if the soil is dry.

Jodi, the soap issue is from using 2 different types / brands of soap. We had this problem. I stick to 1 brand now and don't have that gunky issue.
I only use dove in it 🤷♀️ the soap I just switched to doesn’t appear to be doing it so I think it’s just the thickness of dove

Decluttering is way more of a dopamine hit for me than cleaning. Cleaning typically leaves me worn out and feeling blah and instead of seeing how much progress I made, I see all the stuff I still need to get to.

Oh yes, I clean all the time with just a microfiber cloth with no issues. I had to stop using cleaning products/candles/personal care products with synthetic fragrances...not good for my hormones. Great job getting the bathroom refreshed! Maybe thinning the soap with water would help your dispenser? I bought Zinnia seeds today...also my first time. I'm going to try direct sowing mine. I think will pull back any fabric and mulch in the area I sow mine.

Two snow days for the kids last Thursday and Friday so I didn’t babysit my granddaughter. Her parents and my son are coming to clean my backyard and the inside of my house. It took a lot for me to ask since everyone works but I am still trying to come back from my knee problems. They are good kids and gladly agreed. You might think why didn’t they offer and they have always asked me even before I became disabled but I always said no, I took pride doing it myself and taking care of everyone else. But times have changed.😕 Thanks Jodi, for this video and being part of my world.😘

We don’t hook the stopper in underneath, we just set it in and then it pulls out freely. Can still use the stopper to fill the sink, but you have to pull it up by hand. I had a little house with a roll of toilet paper on the back of the toilet in the master bath and I finally removed it because I was tired of dusting it. It has been donated. On the back of the hall bath I just have a box of tissues and spray freshener. I eliminated fake flowers because they are a pain to clean.

It turned cold again here in Florida too today! By cold I mean it was 57 this morning but then 68 later in the day. Lol! It was 87 a couple days ago and we were in our pool. 🙀

You are so sweet for asking! And you didn’t miss an update. I totally forgot to give one. They made it past first cut, which I didn’t think they would because after 4 games they were in 10th (only 8 teams moved on) and they came back strong their last 2 games and finished in 6th place. Then the second round they got knocked out. It was very exciting to watch and they really did a great job ❤️

We had a couple days of warm weather also here in Kentucky so I started on the yard too. Mowed the front and back, cleaned up the leaves out of the flower beds and started weeding some of the flower beds THEN we went from 65 to freezing over night. I'm just ready for spring. I love your videos they keep me motivated. I'm still working on the decluttering in the master bathroom as I can.

Can you explain the reason to dig up bulbs and just replant them. I thought that once planted, they will be perennials and re bloom each year (in spring).
We too have bird seed that grows. We decided to let it grow just to see what it was and found sunflowers and corn stalks. Which the birds and squirrels love. lol

Fake flowers should be rinsed off quarterly to keep looking good as the dust in bathrooms can have other nasties in it...sneezes, coughs etc.

I got 1/3 of my second counter cleaned off...small items 1 at a time and the counter & wall wiped down Sunday. Not bad for post surgery 4 days. And tossed some things that I'm not sure how they ended up there.
Got to get some linseed oil for my wooden spoons to keep them tiptop. Found some things that had gotten behind other things. 😆 1/3 of a counter is good. It's slightly about 12" longer than your counter on the side of your sink with the bay window. (X2 is my whole kitchen counter space, so yes. Chock full.)
Purim is Saturday into Sunday. That's the celebration of how Queen Esther saved all the Jews from extermination with help from YHWH! Going before the king without being invited meant death unless he extended his scepter to you. She was very brave. We eat hamentaschen a kind of triangular cookie with filling as a reminder that YHWH takes evil ( HAMAN Wanted to exterminate all Jews as did Hitler- because they ONLY bowed before YHWH and not haman) & uses it for our good. We eat sweets and share food gifts so that ALL may enjoy the memory. We dress as those from that time if possible.
In April will be passover and it's time to start super cleaning for that to remove all leaven.

We live in Minnesota and the weather has been usseasonable warm. Very little snow and it is so dry. I hear that Thursday is supposed to be snowy. I washed my winter coats and I refuse to bring them out again! LOL!!!! I have been lazy this week...no projects. So, I will just enjoy your video's! Have an amazing week!

Our weather is like yours we had a pretty day I worked my butt off next day we got snow on the first day of spring 🌼 my cat brought me two snakes when it was nice. If your one flowers were daylily they will put they are good for your other flowers and they will put oxygen in your dirt to help all your other flowers

I have daffodils, crocus, hyacinth in bloom. A few tulips popping thru and day lilies. Your day lilies are fine that is how they grow. I live in Indianapolis & weather doing the same as MI. I am originally from MI.

The weather in Iowa is the same. We get warm beautiful days then go back in the freezer. We’ve pretty much got our spring cleaning done inside so when it warms up again it will be time to tackle the garage. It’s decluttered but needs to be sprayed down and swept.

Hey Jodi - I leave my sink plugs unhooked and just sitting in the drain - then I pull it out every time I clean the sink. No one is running a sink of water that it needs to be properly hooked up!

@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 okay, so I dropped my phone while watching and it put most of my comments on a short that got pressed I think is what happened? Never seen it do that before, but here is what I can remember of the other comments....
Have your daffodils bloomed yet? They were looking so close.
Yes I use a wet microfiber for some things, not everything needs disinfected.... If you are concerned about the shelf because it is by the toilet you could spray it lightly with rubbing alcohol, it will dry quickly because it's alcohol, and disinfects pretty well too. IDK if all microfiber do the disinfecting piece, but that is the message Norwex puts out about theirs.... But they also put silver or something in to help do that to my understanding.
Once the potted tulips and bulbs are done blooming you could try planting them out, just try to leave the leaves attached so they can soak up energy for next year. Or wait until the foliage dies back. Also, since you are having so much fun with bulbs, you might check on fall blooming crocus. They are actually growable in northern Indiana and are reasonably priced. Which seems crazy to say since they are where saffron comes from. And since I'm thinking about that, gladiola bulbs are in stores now (I tend to find the last couple clearance bags at the DG in lare May or June and plant then...), but a nice tall spiky pop of color might be nice in that little hole beside your porch and the fence that was catching leaves late last year. They are shorter the first year, and then taller the second, but maybe that was just to do with how late I planted? Anyway,the only year I lost mine was the year I dug them up..... I don't think you are that much further north than mee.... I was the colder of the zone 5 section til they redrew the map.

Hello Jodi, I am trying to replace the cartridge in my shower to fix the leak. I have tried for 2 days to get the set screw out of the handle with no luck. I think it has so much calcium buildup that I can't get it loose even with wd40. So the solution is to get my husband to drill it out. Which he's not too thrilled about. I have ordered another handle and setscrew to replace it. So I have to wait on it to get here. That is the only way to get to where the cartridge is. I have watched a RUclips video to know how to do it. The guys had the same issue, so it's not just me. I'm not going to pay a Plummer $400 to do it, when I can fix it once the handle is off.
My daffodils have bloomed and all the blooms are gone. My tulip magnolias bloomed and the freeze got them last night. They were so beautiful. Hopefully they will bloom again. Have a great week. God bless.
Did you try CLR (Calcium, Lime, Rust), or soaking it in vinegar? Might be worth a try while you are waiting for the new screw to arrive.

Is it possible to cut the (black thing with holes in it) thing under the sink shorter? I do not know what to call it in english. If it is shorter than the metal pipe, maybe it will be easier to get on and of? It looks like you have to bend it because of the pipe.

For fake plants and flowers a really easy way of dusting them is to put them in a plastic bag with some salt and shake it.
I remember watching you do this last year and did mine - it was gross 🤮
You are tackling jobs that are definately NOT on my deep cleaning list. Stopper problems well, when a "problem" often get an...Oh, Honey, need your touch on this...;) The flowers, you can fill sink with water and dish soap, dunk, swish, and rinse, let dry.
This might be silly, but what if you leave a “instructions for stopper” note for yourself for the next time!
