Crazy set 2 what a recover!!!
Table Tennis is Changing a lot now we got three europeans in the semis and ovtcharov could´ve had won to xu xin. timo boll is getting old and ovtcharov is getting better and better and putting a new modern and old style in table tennis hope to see bacciocci soon in this type of tournaments i would love seing a germany vs china where germany wins and more europeans dominating tt.
@Florian Bihler, both Boll and Ovtcharov played in the Chinese Super League, the most challanging league in the world.. Boll had the better statistiks than Ovtcharov and has also beaten top chinese players.. Ovtcharov did so too. Boll was ill before the World Cup, his body abilities decreased and of course he cannot be on his best level after being ill for 1 month.. so what are you talking about? Please, just think about what you are wrote before you post it..
Bolls endurance is really wearing down by now as opposed to the younger Ovtcharov

It's not about being ill or tired or any other bullshit...
What I see is that it looks like Timo tried to avoid long rallies. He always stood by the table - no away-from-the-table tennis [connected with a lot of footwork]

I seem to notice that asian players have more agressive faster returns... and european players have more looping slower returns

Maybe it's just the style of play. One play type maybe good against the other play type but is totally not good for a different players play type?

Probably food poisoning from food in China. Got me a lot when living there!
All saying boll is not moitivated are stupid. Boll lost 4-0 to Samsonov and Ovcharov lost 4-3 to Xu Xin and Xu Xin beat Samsonov easily. You cant say hes not motivated Ovcharov was just the better player and age is catching up to Timo. I will say he was ill around the earopean championships but he still got his ass beat.
