Ma Long really started attacking Timo's backhand near the end of the match. Ma was really pressured but his tactics worked out in the end.

You can actually see that Liu Guoliang is quite nervous throughout this match. I guess this speaks for Boll, who - although an ageing star - is really in great shape right now.
Also, it is worth pointing out the clever use of spin variations on Ma's topspins (I know, everybody does that). In this match, it is quite noticeable referring to Boll's blocking and counterspinning errors.

Ma Long's movement is better. Probably because Timo is too old, I think he should change the tactics a bit.

For right handed players, serving on the left side allow the to perform a forehand top spin right after opponent return. Same thing for left handed person to serve on the right side

Yeah, this dipshit comments on every TT video and is always full of disrespectful crap, and what's more - he must have few accounts to give himself likes on his comments so that they are always at the top of the chat. He also uses those to give dislike to other people's comments that are trying to put him in line. I hope he gets banned

Usually disrespecting those Non-Chinese. I don't know about the giving himself likes though. If you go to the TT forum with the most users you'll notice most of the guys there are old men who think they're "wise."

There is a logical error in your comment I am afraid. For even if it's true that Ma Long didn't play well against Wang Hao because Liu Guoliang wasn't there, this doesn't imply that Ma Long would not play enough well against Timo Boll if he were without Liu. Of course, Liu's guidance and coaching are wonderful.

It's not necessarily easier, because the forehand is usually the better than the backhand. When serving from the left side of the table you automatically stand in the base-position to play on.

thanks for your arguing; my point here is about Ma Long metal weakness; he was pumped to play against Boll, sounded like he won the title, he was extremely nervous, and this the reason drained him out, not by physical aspect. Then he met Wang Hao, a quite component, Ma Long respected his teammate or because of his ego, he did not show much emotion when winning a ball; this is totally different from Boll match.
    His mind kept him down.

yes, Timo can be proud to be the best Non-Chinese for years now. But in the end he goes without any reward as so many times. So a little frustrating to say the least...I heard this interview after the match and he mentioned the very high level and that he improved. Though he was also disappointed - of course!
